I just concluded the 9 season long sitcom known as how I met you mother and I am currently putting it down as one of the best decisions I ever made in life right after purchasing dark shades so I can sleep without anyone around noticing. Starting the show I did not know what I was getting into as I finally decided to give F.R.I.E.N.D.S a try (which I enjoyed by the way) so I was looking for sitcoms with similar plots and after seeing positive reviews, numerous recommendations from friends plus the lack of interest in the big bang theory, I decided to give it a try.
The sitcom begins with Ted Mosby in his living room narrating the story of how he met their mother.

The series takes a flash back to Ted in his thirties, a young aspiring architect searching for true love in Manhattan. He shares an apartment with his college buddy and best friend Marshall who's in a committed relationship with his girlfriend lily- a kindergarten teacher that stays at the boys apartment more than she does her own place and finally Barney Stinson- the womanizing playboy with the goal of creating layers of lies just to get a lady and teaching his supposedly best friend (Ted) how to live.

The Foursome were at their favourite bar MacLaren's Pub which was directly underneath Ted's apartment and then enter Robin Scherbatsky, an independent fierce woman from Canada that desires to make a name for herself as a journalist. Ted instantly falls in love with her tagging her as the one his heart yearns for, he tries everything he can to win her over but falls short as Robin believes they are only meant to be friends and nothing else.

How I met your mother is a story about Ted's journey to find the perfect partner. It unfolds into a series of failed relationships, heartbreaks, commitment and sacrifices. I know a lot of people will always favour Ted as the best character of the show but me personally, Barney Stinson will always be the heart of it all.

I cannot imagine watching a single episode without that rascal, everything about him draws my attention. From his elaborate schemes which are referenced from his PLAYBOOK to trick women under 30 into sleeping with him to his utmost value for the "bro code". One thing I love about Barney was that he is always there when you need, he might not act like he cares but Barney will never betray or let a friend down even if it means hurting himself.

As the series progress we get to find out that Barney became who he is because of a dysfunctional childhood and the love of his life leaving him for a wealthy businessman. Barney later falls in love with Robin and both of them eventually get married. However the both of them end up getting divorced due to conflicting ideals.

As much as I believe the series is a nigh perfect sitcom, it took one of the craziest turns I have ever seen in all my life. At the very end we soon realized that the series was never about how Ted met the mother of his children but rather it was a story to try convincing his kids how much he wants to get back with the woman he always loved Robin after the death of his wife.
Overall the movie ends with a happy ending for the cast. Marshall and Lilly end up staying married with two boys and Marshall becoming a judge, Barney was now a father to a lovely daughter and was completely done with the playboy life, Ted and Robin?? Well let's just say they were happy in the end cus I don't think that was what I hoped their ending would be.

The final season was a little dull for my liking as it stretched events that followed before and wedding the wedding of Barney and Robin longer than it should. However I am still happy the show had an ending as cancellation is a thing that happens to shows I deemed interesting.

Wow,you really watched this well, and enjoyed it also I'll say. This review is just wonderful.
I started the series sometime back but I couldn't get to finish it, then I lost all my files including it. Since then, I didn't check it again. Your review seems to tell me almost all I need to know.
