Este excelente filme cubano fue lanzado en el 2013 y es una adaptación de la novela homónima de Eliseo Alberto Diego García Marruz (1952-2011). Entre su elenco de primer nivel estaban Reinaldo Miravalles y Enrique Molina en los protagónicos, además de contar con las excelentes actuaciones de Daysi Granados, Eslinda Núñez, Paula Alí, Verónica Lynn, Luis Alberto García, Alberto Pujols y Laura de la Uz. La película contó con la dirección del legendario Gerardo Chijona y es de destacar la música original de José María Vitier.

This excellent Cuban film was released in 2013 and is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Eliseo Alberto Diego García Marruz (1952-2011). Among its top-notch cast were Reinaldo Miravalles and Enrique Molina in the leads, in addition to excellent performances by Daysi Granados, Eslinda Núñez, Paula Alí, Verónica Lynn, Luis Alberto García, Alberto Pujols and Laura de la Uz. The film was directed by the legendary Gerardo Chijona and the original music by José María Vitier stands out.


La historia narra como Lino Catalá conoce a Larry Pó, en la tumba de su esposa Maruja tras un año de su muerte. El raro, estrafalario y excéntrico Larry dice ser amigo de Maruja y haberle jurado si ella fallecía primero buscar a su esposo y revelarle que su amiga llevaba una doble vida: de día era un ama de casa y esposa afectuosa y dedicada, pero era cantante de boleros en bares y cabarets. Ahí los dos ancianos se juntan con dos propósitos: desentrañar el pasado de Maruja y encontrar a Esther el eterno amos de Larry.

The story tells how Lino Catalá meets Larry Pó, at the grave of his wife Maruja a year after her death. The strange, quirky and eccentric Larry claims to be a friend of Maruja and to have sworn to her that if she died he would first find her husband and reveal to her that his friend led a double life: by day she was a housewife and affectionate and dedicated wife, but she was a singer of boleros in bars and cabarets. There the two old men come together with two purposes: to unravel Maruja's past and find Esther, Larry's eternal master.
