Landman A Series Worth Watching

Recommended
There is not much worth watching these days so when I find something I enjoy I will tend to share and recommend it. I have a smart television hooked up to various streaming sites and Landman appeared on trending. Landman is now in it's second season and I only stumbled upon it by chance as I have been sick for a few days and was stuck with nothing to do in bed. With my grandson not having much of an immune system I was basically quarantined.
This series is produced by the same company that did Yellowstone before it got pulled by Kevin Costner. The story line is very good and trust me there is nothing woke going on here and is worth watching for the realness and laughter as yes there are many funny moments you would be saying no way.
Billy Bob Thornton is the Landman and main character playing a role that seems to have been made for him. I have never really seen any films or shows Billy Bob has done before, but in this case I am not sure how much acing is done as this looks like a fun role. He used to be very wealthy, but lost it all when the markets crashed and now works for a boss who has him running the show. The story is about oil and how the land leases work and how to make them profitable, but there is so much more going on with the characters in the show. The series is some what based on a true story and why it feels very real with real people.
Money is made and lost which all centers around the price of the barrel which apparently is best to be between $78 and $88 as they do not like boom or bust. Jerry Jones the Dallas Cowboy's owner features in the series where he tells his story how he made his fortune from oil and gas and why he bought the Cowboys.
The characters is what makes this series as Billy Bob Thornton has an ex wife played by Ali Larter who is some what rough and ready. This caught me off guard as I had no idea what to expect and her character along with their young hot slutty daughter bring in the humor. The dad does not know what to do with them once they move in sharing a house with co workers from the oil company.
I have watched 10 of the 12 first season episodes already and I am hooked due to the story line being so good. Landman is filmed in Texas which includes cartels doing drug runs across the porous border as the story is based on some truths. This is so good it is easy to get hooked and you wonder why other series get away with he crap they dish up.
Like I mentioned earlier I do not watch much television besides sport and maybe an hour watching a tv show weekly. I cannot do two thigs at once and if I am working with business figures which I am normally doing most evenings I need peace and quiet and nothing playing in the back ground.
I you watch the first episode then I can guarantee you are done and will watch all of them as is is not like other series. The last series that got me hooked like this was Shogun as I do not have time to spare on watching rubbish as my time is very limited thee days.
I also don't really watch all that much either, besides sports over the weekend. But I think I'm going to give this one a go. You've got my curiosity going with your post...lol!
You will enjoy this one and I have not laughed so much in a long time as the ex wife is a real hoot.
Awesome! That sounds great and I'm definitely going to watch it. I saw the trailer on DStv last night and told my wife about your recommendation👍!
I've seen the previews for this.. it looks like a winner.. I might give it a chance
I am fussy and hard to please and it just got better and better. The ex wife and daughter scenes made me chuckle.
I really enjoyed Landman too. I wrote a post about it a while ago. I actually don't like how they portray the daughter especially when they point out she is under age, but the rest of the show is pretty great for me. I really like Thortons character and the way he plays him. Some of his speeches and comebacks are just the best.
I must have missed it and yes season 2 will be just as good.
The recent series I have liked was 1923 with Harrison Ford...
Love when the series is catchy from the first episode. It's a promise for good things to come. I haven't seen any Texas-themed series in a while. Will be adding this to my watchlist for sure.

You normally know if you will enjoy something or not even before the first episode has finished. Many tv shows I don't get past the first 15 minutes.
Looks like an interesting series. Thanks for sharing.
Pleasure and hope you enjoy it.
Sounds very good, awesome Trailer. And I am wondering how Demi Moore is able to still look that young!

I really enjoyed this as well even though I don't watch a great deal of TV. BB Thornton is really exceptional in his role and there were plenty of times that I paused the TV to repeat what profound statement he just made or even wrote a few of them down. Very good writing, a kind of story that makes you wonder how true-to-life it is, and some pretty bad-ass moments that indicates how powerful this industry really is. Definitely recommend it myself as well.
Assuring to read that there is nothing woke going on the series. This is always a big turn off for me, especially when watching Western TV shows. I like the storyline, there's an element of adjusting to change and individual evolution.
