Let's take a look at the lives of two passionate characters who are on the run because of the crimes they committed together.

Of course, to do this, you have to go back to the beginning. The 2013 movie Ain't Them Bodies Saints was a movie that I really liked in several ways. Before getting into the characters, I must say that it is a western movie with a very different story. This difference made me like the movie more.

Ruth and Bob, who chose the easy but risky way of making money to fulfill their dreams, have to face reality one day. It is time for justice to be served for the couple who are passionately devoted to each other. Bob takes the blame for Ruth's crime in order to prevent her from going to jail and the story of Ain't Them Bodies Saints begins, colored by the drama-filled scenes of our lovers.

Unlike the usual westerns, there are not many action scenes in the movie, but you don't mind this lack when you are immersed in the story of the movie. I can't say that the movie is full of romantic scenes, but I can say that there are romantic words and promises. Although Bob and Ruth seem to take on the drama aspect of the movie, it is the couple's newborn daughter who brings the real drama to the audience.

There are characters who experience drama and platonic love in the movie, but to talk about them too much would be to distract from the main purpose of the movie. Each of the characters in the foreground take strong stances and do justice to their roles. This kind of multi-character success is usually seen in films of the 1980s and 1990s.

The movie Ain't Them Bodies Saints was very, very successful in terms of the way the story was told and staged. The success of the characters created in harmony with the script had an incredibly positive effect on the movie. As far as I remember, I saw similar effects in another movie directed by David Lowery. This means that the success of the director can change the story progression of the movie in an instant.

Casey Affleck, who plays the character of Bob Muldoon, successfully plays and reflects his passion for the woman he is in love with and his determination to follow his dreams. The transformation of the character during his incarceration and after his release is perfectly portrayed in a few scenes. It was a joy to watch!

Rooney Mara, who plays the character of Ruth, successfully plays the figure of the woman for whom everything will be sacrificed, but I found her inadequate in showing the love she feels for herself. It was sometimes frustrating to see her looking ready for everything and making no sacrifice but waiting.

The final scene of the movie was definitely worth seeing. They placed 4 interconnected characters in one scene with incredible success. Even though none of them spoke at that moment, the whole story of the movie flashed before my eyes in an accelerated way. Sometimes silence can really tell a lot.

I highly recommend you to watch the movie Ain't Them Bodies Saints. I would not be unfair if I say it is a very successful romantic western movie. I liked the way love was staged, but I liked the use of drama the most.
