The 2016 Independence Day: Resurgence takes the story to a new dimension as a sequel after 20 years.

First of all, I would like to state that this will not be a comparison between the first and the second movie. What I like most about sequels is that the continuation of the story is combined with the previous story and picks up where it left off.

The main plot of the previous movie, the efforts to save the world from the alien invasion and the process of being successful seems to have brought the whole world together and ensured the birth of the new story. What I liked most about the new story was that the world was united and formed a united world government against the alien threat that could happen again.

It's a dream of today that all borders disappear and the world is ruled by a unified central government, but that's what movies are for. They are places where dreams know no boundaries and come true. If we go back to the movie Independence Day: Resurgence, I can say that I really liked the visual effects as well as the story.

We have seen new names added to the story continuing from the first movie as well as old names appearing in the new story. Considering the 20 years that have passed, I think this has been possible thanks to the contribution of extraordinary efforts.

Due to the new invasive species that emerges in the new story, humanity is having a hard time despite the technology and unity of power. Instead of actually invading the world, the new species may be sending us a secret message by appearing to be after energy resources. When the target is the core at the center of the world and the energy it will provide, the goal can be considered as an attempt to destroy the world instead of invading it.

I found the movie quite successful in terms of action and sci-fi genre and especially in terms of showing alien technology up close. I also liked it in terms of the continuity of the story and new additions. However, despite all the technology created, I found the primitive methods added to the struggle insufficient in terms of creativity. Because when they use such primitiveness in such a scenario, it stands out too much.

I recommend you to watch Independence Day: Resurgence as it has a lot of positive aspects and the transitional connections in the story are successfully detailed. The movie already has its own specific audience from the first production and they have already watched it. I wish a good time to everyone who will watch it among the rest.

The movie has a lot of action and improved special effects that surpass the first installment, but I think it lacked Will Smith's performance to keep the audience's interest.

That's why I didn't focus on the acting performances of any of the characters. I focused more on the progression of the story in the first movie and the change in people after 20 years. Thank you.
