The reason I share this information and source is that I watched the 2021 movie Nordsjøen (The Burning Sea). Briefly, the movie tells the story before and after a man-made natural disaster.
As believers, we know that the Day of Judgment will come in some form. Will it be by God, as expected, or will it be by us humans? Honestly, given the advancing time, developing technology and many findings, I have begun to see a high probability that it will be man-made.
We are no longer satisfied with the surface riches of our world and we are trying to uncover the underground riches in a brutal way. We have turned the underground into cheese with holes in it, so to speak.
With the negative repercussions of this, for the time being we seem to be accepting and far from objecting. The movie Nordsjøen is about the largest landslide on the ocean floor since the modern world began and records began to be kept.
When you watch it, what the scientists in the movie tell you is quite frightening. I would like to say that this is a movie and that the fictional aspect of the story is predominant, but the movie deals with a factual subject.
We have a huge appetite for meeting the growing energy needs. We are undermining ourselves to meet today's needs without thinking about tomorrow. Although the existence of people with common sense is enough to keep our hopes fresh, the thought that people with common sense have not yet received enough authority triggers fear.
While watching the movie with the most exciting scenes and facing the fact that the oil platforms could collapse at any moment, an earthquake of 4.1 magnitude occurred in the Aegean Sea between Turkey and Greece where I live. Even though it was a moderate earthquake according to the scales, it was frightening in terms of reminding us of its existence.
After the obligatory half-hour break, I ended the movie by picking up where it left off. The movie creates heroes within itself. As in other disaster movies, there are those who are heroic at the cost of their lives and those who try to save those left behind. These details keep the watchability of the movie high.
Would I sacrifice my own life to save other lives? Honestly, I have never been in that situation, so it is difficult to give a clear answer. The movie is worth watching with its fluent and informative story. You get new and additional information on the journey of extracting oil from the earth.
Is it worth all the effort and risk? When you look at the money that it is worth, it has been worth it for decades. Wars fought for oil, risks taken, tears shed and a world ecosystem that the power holders do not care about!
In a time and place where everything is measured only in money, who cares about future generations? An additional feature of the movie is that it raises a lot of unanswered questions. Even if I won't be able to see 50 or 100 years from now, I am curious!
