This has been an interesting week, I have been able to watch several movies and finish a couple of series, having to be in bed, there is no other activity I can do, but I'm not complaining, I have enjoyed everything I've seen. Today I finished this incredible series, perfectly in the style of the ones I like, I think I can now declare myself a fan of Taylor Sheridan's universe.

Esta a sido una semana interesante, he podido ver varias películas y terminar un par de series, al tener que estar en cama, no hay otra actividad que pueda realizar, pero no me quejo, he disfrutado todo lo que he visto. Preciosamente el dia de hoy termine esta increíble serie, perfectamente del estilo de las que me gustan, creo que ya me puede declarar fan del universo de Taylor Sheridan.

I think that already with so many successful productions, in my opinion, I could call universe to everything this director, screenwriter and even actor has done, I reviewed his filmography before writing this publication and it turns out that I had already seen a couple of films that at first I did not know he directed them, they are Sicario which is from 2015 and Wind River from 2017.

Creo que ya con tantas producciones exitosas, en mi opinion, podria llamar universo a todo lo que ha hecho este director, guionista e incluso actor, revise su filmografía antes de escribir esta publicación y resulta que ya había visto par de películas que en un principio no supe que el las dirigió, se tratan de Sicario que es del años 2015 y Wind River del 2017.

So far this year, I have been able to see so far 5 series that have been released since 2018 and keep active to date with new seasons or are about to be released, the first was Tulsa King, then I saw 1923, then 1883, followed by Yellowstone which is related to the previous two, and now the most recent Special Ops: Lioness.

En lo que ha transcurrido de este año, he podido ver hasta ahora 5 series que se han estrenado desde el 2018 y que mantienen activas hasta la fecha con nuevas temporadas o que están por ser estrenadas, la primero fue Tulsa King, luego vi 1923, después 1883, seguido de Yellowstone que guarda relación con las dos anteriores, y ahora la mas reciente Special Ops: Lioness.

Plot

Special Ops: Lioness tells the story of Joe (Zoe Saldana) a CIA agent who leads a Navy SEAL squad to execute counter-terrorism operations. They infiltrate an asset (a member of their squad) into the enemy's ranks in order to obtain information to eliminate a terrorist leader, or if possible have that asset eliminate him himself.

Argumento

Special Ops: Lioness cuenta la historia de Joe (Zoe Saldaña) un agente de la CIA que lidera un escuadrón de Navy SEAL para ejecutar operaciones contra el terrorismo. Infiltran un activo (miembro de su escuadrón) entre las filas del enemigo a fin de obtener información para eliminar un líder terrorista, o de ser posible que ese activo lo elimine por sí mismo.

Things don't go well at first, his infiltrator is discovered and when she is about to be executed, Joe decides to send a missile to destroy the place with all the terrorists and his team member as collateral damage. This forces him to find a female replacement who can serve as a spy and is willing to do anything to accomplish the mission.

It is here where Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira) appears, a Latina woman who lives in the worst conditions next to a gang member, imprisoned by her circumstances and desperate to get out of that life, she beats her partner and escapes, and when she is almost caught she is saved by a Marine Corps officer, later joining this component of the army, excelling in everything she does to later be recruited by Joe.

Es aquí donde aparece Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira) una mujer latina que vive en las peores condiciones al lado de un pandillero, presa por sus circunstancias y desesperada por salir de esa vida, golpea a su pareja y escapa, y cuando casi le atrapan es salvada por un oficial del cuerpo de Marines, uniéndose luego a este componente del ejército, destacando en todo lo que hace para luego ser reclutada por Joe.

Joe and Cruz must now work together to find the whereabouts of the oil tycoon who finances all the terrorist organizations in the Middle East. Cruz must befriend the man's daughter Aaliyah Amrohi (Stephanie Nur) so that she can reveal his whereabouts and eliminate him, all while both must face challenges in their personal lives without compromising the mission.

Joe y Cruz ahora deberán trabajar juntas para poder dar con el paradero de magnate del petróleo que financia todas las organizaciones terroristas del medio oriente, Cruz debe hacerse amiga de la hija de este hombre Aaliyah Amrohi (Stephanie Nur) para que le pueda revelar su paradero y así poder eliminarlo, todo esto mientras ambas deben enfrentar desafíos en sus vidas personales sin comprometer la misión.

Opinion

I can hardly find negative points in this type of series, I am a super fan of this narrative, spy games, the development of a cybernetic war, where you can see that the bad guys are everywhere and not always a "super nation" is the one that saves the world. I really liked that they made an effort to humanize the characters, spies and officials are also human and have problems like anyone else.

Difícilmente puedo encontrar puntos negativos en este tipo de serie, soy super fan de esta narrativa, juegos de espías, el desarrollo de una guerra cibernética, donde se deja ver que los malos están en todos lados y no siempre una "super nación" es la que salva al mundo. Me gusto mucho que se esforzarán por humanizar a los personajes, los espías y funcionarios también son humanos y tienen problemas como cualquiera.

The series precisely shifts between the two narratives, as these women must deal with family problems, with a rebellious daughter and a husband tired of the lifestyle where she is never present, and the other trying to make a place for herself in the world, looking for a place to belong, to have purpose and goals, even to find someone to love.

La serie precisamente se traslada entre ambas narrativas, como estas mujeres deben lidiar una con los problemas de la familia, con una hija rebelde y un esposo cansado del estilo de vida donde ella nunca está presente, y al otra tratando de hacerse un lugar en el mundo, buscando un lugar donde pertenecer, tener propósitos y objetivos, incluso encontrar a quien amar.

The action scenes are not abundant, this is nothing like John Wick or Mission Impossible, it is a spy game, infiltration, intelligence and emotions, of course it has its moments of tension and action, which in my opinion are well dosed, the necessary to not overshadow the story and not make it so boring.

Las escenas de acción no abundan, esto no se parece en nada a John Wick o Misión Imposible, es un juego de espías, de infiltración, de inteligencia y de emociones, claro que tiene sus momentos de tension y de acción, que en mi opinion estan bien dosificados, los necesarios para no opacar la historia y tampoco hacerla tan aburrida.

Special Ops: Lioness is a good thriller that combines drama and action to attract and hold the viewer's attention, it is not perfect, surely someone more objective than me will find flaws, perhaps the performances of Nicole Kidman as Kaitlyn Meade or Morgan Freeman as Edwin Mullins, both government officials, were a little weak knowing the quality of actors they are, but that is in the taste of each person, I enjoyed it.

Special Ops: Lioness bien se podría decir que es un buen thriller que combina el drama y la acción para llamar y sostener la atención del espectador, no es perfecto, seguro alguien mas objetivo que yo le encontrara fallas, quizás las actuaciones de Nicole Kidman como Kaitlyn Meade o de Morgan Freeman como Edwin Mullins ambos funcionarios de gobierno, fueron un poco débiles sabiendo la calidad de actores que son, pero eso está en el gusto de cada quien, yo la disfrute.
