Ne Zha 2 🤯 the phenomenon that conquered the global box office surpassing Inside Out 2 [ENG/SPA]

I recently heard the news that a new movie had broken the all-time box office record, dethroning Inside Out 2. Obviously, I was interested in learning more, hoping to see what it was about, and to my surprise, I discovered it was the animated film called Ne Zha 2. My immediate question was, "What movie is this?" I'd never heard anything about it. Being so immersed in the entertainment world, how had I never seen a teaser, trailer, or any other promotion?

Hace poco escuchaba la noticia que una nueva película había roto el récord de taquilla de todos los tiempos, destronando a Inside Out 2. Obviamente me interese por conocer mas, con la esperanza de poder ver de que se trataba, y para mi sorpresa descubro que es la película animada llamada Ne Zha 2, la pregunta de inmediato fue ¿que pelicula es esta? Nunca escuche nada sobre ella. Al estar tan metido en el mundo del entretenimiento ¿como es que nunca vi un teaser o trailer o alguna otra promoción?

Not knowing anything about this movie and then it being declared the highest-grossing of all time really blew my mind. How could an achievement of this magnitude go so unnoticed? I soon found out the reason: it's a film of Chinese origin, which premiered first in mainland China on January 29th, then in Australia and New Zealand on February 13th, the United States and Canada on February 14th, and Southeast Asia on February 22nd. It hasn't yet been released in Europe and the rest of the Americas.

No saber nada sobre esta película y que fuera declarada como la mas taquillera de todos los tiempo me tiene impresionado. Un logro de esta magnitud como es posible que pase tan desapercibido, pronto supe la razón, es una película de origen chino, que se estrenó primero en China continental el 29 de enero, luego en Australia y New Zealand el 13 de febrero, los Estados Unidos y Canadá el 14 de febrero y el Sudeste de Asia el 22 de febrero, aún no se estrena en Europa y el resto de América.

The animated film is based on a Taoist deity named Nezha (哪吒, Nézhā), a prince who, through his actions, achieved the status of a god. Unlike Sun Wukong (Monkey King), Nezha is not a literary figure; he is part of the Buddhist pantheon and is among the most beloved gods by those who practice these religions. This accounts for his fame and success when his actions are brought to visual or written representations.

La película animada está basada en una deidad del taoísmo llamada Nezha (哪吒, Nézhā), fue un príncipe que por sus acciones alcanzó el estatus de un dios. A diferencia de Sun Wukong (Rey mono) Nezha no es una figura literaria, si forma parte de la deidad del budismo y esta entre los dioses mas queridos por quienes practican estas religiones, esto debe su fama y éxito cuando sus acciones son llevadas a representaciones visuales o escritas.

To tell you what the movie is about would take a long time, to be honest. Obviously, it's about the adventures of this god, perhaps how he came to be. Ne Zha 2, as you may have realized, is a sequel. You might be wondering, "And Ne Zha 1?" I asked myself the same question and found out that it was released in 2019 and was also a huge success. Some claim that the first installment can be seen on Netflix, but at least for Latin America, it's not available.

Contarles sobre de qué trata la pelicula, me tomaría mucho tiempo para ser sincero, lo obvio es que se trate de las aventuras de este dios, quizás como llego a serlo. Ne Zha 2 como se habrán dado cuenta es una secuela, quizás se pregunten ¿y Ne Zha 1? Me hice la misma pregunta y supe que fue estrenada en 2019 y también fue todo un éxito. Algunos aseguran que la primera entrega es posible verla en Netflix, pero por lo menos para latinoamerica no esta disponible.

So, where can you watch these movies? I'm still searching. My curiosity to do so increased when, after researching, I learned that its box office success goes beyond China. I initially thought that the figure of $1,980,000,000 USD had been reached only in that country, but it turns out that's the worldwide box office figure, surpassing the $1,698,831,782 USD of Inside Out 2. In China alone, it has grossed $17,910,000 to date, which does not exceed the $652,980,194 that Inside Out 2 achieved. We'll have to wait and see if it surpasses it in its country of origin.

Entonces ¿dónde ver estas películas? Aun estoy en la búsqueda. La curiosidad por hacerlo aumentó cuando tras investigar, supe que su éxito en taquilla va mas allá de China. Pensé inicialmente que la cifra de $1,980,000,000 USD había sido alcanzada solo en ese pais, pero resulta que esa es la cifra de la taquilla mundial, superando los $1,698,831,782 USD de Inside Out 2, solo en China logró recaudar $17,910,000 hasta la fecha, lo cual no supera los $652,980,194 que Inside Out 2 logró, toca esperar si la superará en su pais de origen.

From what little I've seen of the animation, it looks quite impressive. I've only seen the trailer images, and it seems to be loaded with many battles between the gods, combined with the character's own comedy, which reminds me of many of the Sun Wukong stories. Perhaps this combination is the reason for its success. I don't know if its comedy will work for Latin America, but Eastern stories are well-received on this side of the pond, and if they're animated, even more so.

Lo poco que puedo decir de la animación, es que se ve bastante impresionante, solo he visto las imágenes del trailer y parece estar cargada de muchas batallas entre los dioses, combinada con comedia propia del personaje, lo que me hace recordar muchas de las historia de Sun Wukong. Quizás es debido a esta combinación la razón de su éxito, no se si su comedia funciones para Latinoamérica, pero las historias orientales tienen buena aceptación de este lado del charco, y si son animadas, mucho más.
