Reacher season 2 | Is it good enough to be #1 on Prime Video? [ENG/SPA]

On January 19 the second season of Reacher ended with the premiere of its eighth episode, 1 year after the first season which I also reviewed. Among the things I discussed in my previous post, I mentioned that the project of this series is to keep very closely based on the story of the books written by Lee Child, the first season is based on the book Killing Floor and this second season is based on the book Bad Luck and Trouble.

Reacher temporada 2 | ¿Es lo suficientemente buena para ser nº1 en Prime Video?

El 19 de enero termino la segunda temporada de Reacher con el estreno de su octavo episodio, transcurrio 1 año desde la primera temporada la cual también reseñé. Entre las cosas que comentaba en mi anterior publicación, mencioné que el proyecto de esta serie es seguir muy de cerca la historia de los libros escritos por Lee Child, la primera temporada se basa en el libro Killing Floor y esta segunda temporada se basa en el libro Bad Luck and Trouble.

Out of ignorance I thought that the second season would be based on the second book by Lee Child titled Die Trying, I realized as soon as the first episode starts when immediately appears the phrase on which book the story is based. I was disappointed at the time because I thought that somehow we would see the character evolve according to the literary works, although the books do not keep chronology, if you can notice how the author evolves in his narrative and the development of the character of Reacher.

Por desconocimiento pensé que la segunda temporada estaría basada en el segundo libro de Lee Child titulado Die Trying, me di cuenta apenas comienza el primer episodio cuando de inmediato aparece la frase sobre que libro está basada la historia. Me sentí decepcionado en el momento porque pensé que de alguna manera veríamos evolucionar al personaje según las obras literarias, aunque los libros no guardan cronología, si se puede notar como el autor evoluciona en su narrativa y el desarrollo del personaje de Reacher.

I didn't understand why the plot would be based on his tenth first work, one that is published 10 years after the first one, that made me think that I was missing a lot of things, but how wrong I was at that time, now that I finished watching it, I think how wise was the decision to choose the story of this book, to understand a little more why Jack, the protagonist, breaks away from the system, leaves the army having a good rank and prefers to go through life helping others without any ties or belongings.

No entendía porque la trama estaría basada en su décima primera obra, una que se publica 10 año después de la primera, eso me hizo pensar que me estaba perdiendo de muchas cosas, pero que equivocado estuve en ese momento, ahora que la termine de ver, pienso cuan atinada fue la decisión de escoger la historia de este libro, para entender un poco más porque Jack, el protagonista, se aparta del sistema, deja el ejército teniendo un buen rango y prefiere ir por la vida ayudando a otros sin ningún tipo de ataduras ni pertenencias.

Thanks to the flashbacks of the first season and the events occurred in this new season, it is possible to determine why Reacher separates from the exercise and prefers to take justice into his own hands, since his youth he realizes that the system is corrupt and corrupted at all levels. That same tonic is presented in this new season, for that reason he keeps being a ruthless, aggressive man, unafraid of the consequences until a factor that he did not expect is involved, his military family.

Gracias a los flashbacks de la primera temporada y los acontecimientos ocurridos en esta nueva temporada, es posible determinar porque Reacher se separa del ejercicio y prefiere tomar la justicia en sus manos, desde su juventud se da cuenta que el sistema es corrupto y corrompido en todos los niveles. Esa misma tónica se presenta en esta nueva temporada, por esa razón sigue siendo un hombre despiadado, agresivo, sin temor a las consecuencias hasta que se ve involucrado un factor que no esperaba, su familia militar.

In this new story Jack is again contacted by Neagley, who in a coded way asks him to go to New York urgently. When the meeting takes place, she explains to him that one of the most beloved members of the 110th, the military police unit to which they both belonged and Reacher commanded, was killed in the most cruel and vile way. It isn't long before they learn that more members of the unit are also in danger, making it necessary for them to get to work to find out what is going on.

En esta nueva historia Jack es nuevamente contactado por Neagley, que de manera codificada le pide que vaya a Nueva York con urgencia. Al concretarse el encuentro ella le explica que uno de los miembros más queridos de la 110, la unidad de policía militar a la que ambos pertenecieron y Reacher comando, fue asesinado de la forma más cruel y vil. No transcurre mucho tiempo cuando saben que más miembros de la unidad también están en peligro, haciendo necesario que se pongan manos a la obra para descubrir que ocurre.

As the story unfolds, we find a Jack Reacher, again having flashbacks, but this time of his time in the army commanding a military crime investigation unit, the unit is formed by the selected each of its members for their skills and abilities, we can also see in these flashbacks Reacher's efforts for his unit to be a united and loyal group at all costs, that the corruption of the system does not corrupt them.

A medida que la historia se desarrolla, nos encontramos a un Jack Reacher, nuevamente teniendo flashbacks, pero está vez de su tiempo en el ejército comandando una unidad de investigación de crímenes militares, dicha unidad es conformada por el seleccionado a cada uno de sus miembros por sus habilidades y destrezas, también podemos apreciar en dichos flashbacks los esfuerzos de Reacher por que su unidad sea un grupo unido y leal a toda costa, que la corrupción del sistema no les corrompa.

Their bond becomes so strong that they feel like family, so Reacher does not hesitate to go to the aid of his unit, to soon discover that more of its members have suffered death. This gives way to the still alive members of the 110th to enter the scene and join the investigation of what happened to their friends, giving way to a new fight against an enemy that seems to be very powerful, pursuing interests that can be harmful on a global scale.

Su vínculo llega a ser tan fuerte que se sienten como familia, por eso Reacher no duda en ir en ayuda de su unidad, para no tardar en descubrir que más de sus miembros han sufrido la muerte. Esto da paso a que los miembros aún con vida de la 110 entren en escena y se unan a la investigación de que paso con sus amigos, dando paso a una nueva lucha contra un enemigo que parece ser muy poderoso, que persigue intereses que pueden ser perjudiciales a escala mundial.

I found the series very entertaining, if you are a fan of crime stories, action, investigation and did I say action? Ah yes, it has lots and lots of action! The development of the characters is one of the best, I think they are very well written, it doesn't feel invasive their incorporation into the story, the truth is very organic and it is nice to get out of the narrative that Reacher is a lonely guy with no ties, no family. I highly recommend watching it if you want to get out of the routine and see something different from what has been popular in recent times.

La serie me pareció muy entretenida, si eres pan de las historias de crimes, acción, investigación y ¿Dije acción? ¡Ah sí, tiene mucha, pero mucha acción! El desarrollo de los personajes es de lo mejor, creo que están muy bien escritos, no se siente invasivo su incorporación a la historia, la verdad se ve muy orgánico y resulta agradable salir de la narrativa de que Reacher es un tipo solitario sin ataduras, sin familia. Recomiendo ampliamente verla si deseas salir de la rutina y ver algo distinto a lo que ha sido popular en estos últimos tiempo.
