Mortal Engines ~ A Review

Recently a friend visited and we decided to see a movie. I switched on Netflix and it was difficult selecting a movie to see since there are so many interesting movies there. After about 8 to 10minutes of searching, she requested I select the Movie Mortal Engines. I told her it's a movie I have seen before but I don't mind seeing it again since we are already having difficulties in selecting a movie.

It was a surprise to me when I found out that I was yet to see the movie I thought I had seen. I could vividly remember the begining but I had no memory of what happened after that. Thinking about this now, I guess I started the movie but didn't go further. So the thought that I have seen this movie before keep making me skip it everytime I am searching for a movie to see not knowing I was missing out on a very interesting movie. All thanks to my friend who made me realise what I was missing out on.

So guys, Mortal Engines is an epic adventure that is set in a world where cities are mobile. What I mean by this is that cities are seen moving from place to place and preying on each other for survival.

In this movie, a lady named Hester Shaw decided to seek revenge against the powerful city of London and its leader for the murder of her mother. She teams up with a guy named Tom Natsworthy along the line, and together both of them embarked on a journey to uncover the truth about their world and find a way to stop London's destructive plans.

From the perfectly designed moving cities to the ferocious battles between them, every scene in this movie is a scene to behold and I totally love the fact that this movie's breathtaking action sequences was able to take me on a thrilling ride through a world that is unlike any other world I have seen or heard of.

So this movie explores thought-provoking themes like power, greed, and redemption and it goes further to raise important questions about the consequences of ambition when left unchecked together with the value of humanity and compassion in a world that is driven by destruction.

Now, at the heart of this movie is a story that is centred on resilience and hope. Most of the characters in this movie demonstrated determination and courage even in the face of adversity. Hester and Tom had an unlikely friendship that blossomed as they ended up confronting their own demons just so they could fight for a better future. I won't fail to mention here that the cast in this movie did so well to deliver a very strong performance that anyone who sees the movie would be proud of and of course, this is commendable.

Overall, this movie is a thrilling and thought-provoking adventure that is sure to captivate audiences of all ages. It is a movie that is sure to leave a lasting impression long after the credits roll with its stunning visuals, powerful themes and compelling characters.
