Greetings and salutations Hivers. Today I thought we'd do another You Should Laugh More post.

Research has shown that laughter is good for us. It has all kinds of health benefits. Despite most of us knowing this, none of us laugh enough. Yeah, I know, being an adult is tough, and furthermore there is a lot of grim stuff happening in the world. These things may be true, but that just is all the more reason for trying to get a little laughter into our lives.

This week we're going to explore some of the what I call Darth Vader is Nuts videos on YouTube. Like many of you, I grew up with Star Wars. The first one was released a year before I was born. I evidently went to theaters with my grandma to see the third, but I have no memory of that. All three of them were constants of my childhood and I've probably seen them all dozens of times.

(Just to be clear, we are talking the original trilogy, episodes 4-6)

When I became aware a few years ago that fans were poking fun at the series, I started watching and saving the videos. I may share pokes at other characters sometime, but for this post let's just look at Vader being crazy.

First up:

Darth Vader Feels Blue

I just love the edit on this. The idea is so random and completely off the wall, and that just makes it funnier. Luke's disgust at the end followed by Vader getting back into it is just the icing on the cake. Watch and enjoy!


Next up:

Darth Vader Being a Jerk

This one never fails to make me laugh. Again, great editing and a crazy idea that works better than you might think it would. I love the silent showdown between them towards the end. That always makes me burst out with laughter. See if you agree.


Moving on:

Oh, did you hear about the time Vader fell in love? No no, not to Queen Amidala, but to Commander Larkin. It didn't go so well. Watch the episode here:


Lastly, let's look at what happened after Vader's nervous breakdown. This is brilliant. The editing isn't the greatest, but it is 17 years old so we might forgive that.
