The reason why I paid attention to this series, in the beginning, was not only because the plot appeared to be entertaining enough, but especially because of the visuals. The series looks absolutely amazing and provides scenes with top-notch photography.
After watching season 1, I can also say the series includes several original scifi elements that couple with a very compelling plot, making the series a must-watch for any scifi fan.
What was the series about?
Before sharing my opinion about the second season, I would like to first briefly mention the most important events of the first season, which means there will be some first season spoilers in the following paragraphs.
This is a post-apocalyptic series, our home planet was destroyed due to a war between atheist and religious radicals, and during all of the havoc, 2 androids were reprogrammed to leave the planet together with some human embryos, and help the continuation of the human race in another planet.
These androids are now called Mother, who is a robot capable of doing crazy and scary attacks, and Father, who is a normal robot model and doesn't have superpowers.
These 2 androids only managed to raise 1 of the embryos, it is revealed during the first season that the food they were producing was poisoned and this is why only 1 child survived, Campion.
Eventually, they will be found by a group of radical religious people who are, by the way, called The Mithraic. They are also on this planet looking for a home and preventing the extinction of our race.
Naturally, there were several conflicts between these new human arrivals and the androids, especially with Mother. Not only that, throughout the series, there is the constant presence of a strange voice that can manipulate characters and completely condition their actions. Some people believe this voice is a real God, but since the series belongs to the scifi genre, I am more inclined to believe it is a super-advanced AI with its own agenda.
One of the best moments of season 1 was when Mother used her attacking capabilities and completely obliterated everything she considered a threat. Her attacking mode is absolutely terrifying and I loved it, I really wasn't expecting to see such cool scenes in what appeared to be a slow-moving scifi show.

¿De qué trataba la serie?
Antes de compartir mi opinión sobre la segunda temporada, me gustaría primero mencionar brevemente los eventos más importantes de la primera temporada, lo que significa que habrá algunos spoilers de la primera temporada en los siguientes párrafos.

Finalmente, serán encontrados por un grupo de religiosos radicales que, por cierto, se llaman Los Mitraicos. Ellos también están en este planeta buscando un hogar y así evitar la extinción de nuestra raza.
Naturalmente, hubo varios conflictos entre estos recién llegados humanos y los androides, especialmente con Madre. No sólo eso, a lo largo de la serie, hay una presencia constante de una extraña voz que puede manipular a los personajes y condicionar completamente sus acciones. Algunos creen que esta voz es un Dios real, pero como la serie pertenece al género de la ciencia ficción, me inclino más por creer que es una IA súper avanzada con su propia agenda.
Uno de los mejores momentos de la primera temporada fue cuando Madre utilizó sus capacidades de ataque y arrasó por completo con todo lo que consideraba una amenaza. Su modo de ataque es absolutamente aterrador y me encantó, realmente no esperaba ver escenas tan geniales en lo que parecía ser una serie de ciencia ficción algo lenta.
Taking into account all of the conflicts that took place in season 1, this season has a fairly peaceful and even happy beginning, including a sort of reunion between the main characters. Everything seemed all perfect and happy in this new place, the tropical zone.
Not only were the people safe, with enough food and shelter but there was even a legal system to keep things in order. It seemed like the perfect place to allow humanity to prosper once again.
Soon enough, new conflicts will begin to appear between the same old 2 fractions from before, but there is also going to be a new cool conflict between 2 intriguing characters that I prefer not to mention.
One important difference between this season's environment and the one from season 1, is that there are now many more people present. The number of characters increased exponentially and there are even small and rural human towns.
Something I like about the Campion character is how he defends the "humanity", the rights, and the uniqueness of some of the androids. This might sound strange, but I believe a sufficiently advanced AI could be unique and special as any human. Including the capability of acting according to principles and values.
If our future Includes very advanced AI, there will come a time when human societies would need to discuss the rights of synthetic intelligences, and it is my opinion that treating them with the same rights we treat other humans would probably be the correct choice when the time is right. This series makes a good job portraying this line of thought in Campion's character.
This season, just as the first one, has a cliffhanger type of ending that must people will surely not expect, and since the story is still entertaining and intriguing enough, this time I am hoping that a third season is produced. I am very interested in knowing more about a very mysterious entity and most viewers of the second season will probably be thinking the same.
Main names associated with the series
The main director of the entire show so far has been Alex Gabassi, he is the one with the highest number of directed episodes with 4. This director only works in series, and some of his previous jobs are in The ABC Murders, The Frankenstein Chronicles, and PSI.
The main writer of the series is Aaron Guzikowski, he doesn't have a very extensive career, with only 5 productions in total including Raised by Wolves, but he is very talented nonetheless, not only because this series is amazing but also because he previously created other good stories such as Papillon, The Red Road, and Prisoners.
Amanda Collin plays one of the main characters of the series, a weaponized android that was reprogrammed in the past to serve as a caretaker for humans, especially her "children". This actress has recently participated in The Exception, Theo & Den Magiske Talisman, and A Horrible Woman.
Teniendo en cuenta todos los conflictos que tuvieron lugar en la primera temporada, esta temporada tiene un comienzo bastante pacífico e incluso feliz, incluyendo una especie de reencuentro entre los personajes principales. Todo parecía perfecto y feliz en este nuevo lugar, la zona tropical.

Una diferencia importante entre el ambiente de esta temporada y el de la temporada 1, es que ahora hay mucha más gente presente. La cantidad de personajes ha aumentado exponencialmente e incluso hay pueblos humanos pequeños y rurales.
Algo que me gusta del personaje de Campion es cómo defiende la "humanidad", los derechos y la singularidad de algunos de los androides. Esto puede sonar extraño, pero creo que una IA lo suficientemente avanzada podría ser única y especial como cualquier ser humano. Incluyendo la capacidad de actuar conforme a principios y valores.
Si nuestro futuro incluye una IA muy avanzada, llegará un momento en que las sociedades humanas necesitarán discutir los derechos de las inteligencias sintéticas, y es mi opinión que tratarlos con los mismos derechos que tratamos a otros humanos probablemente sea la opción correcta cuandollegue el momento. Esta serie hace un buen trabajo retratando esta línea de pensamiento en el personaje de Campion.
Esta temporada, al igual que la primera, tiene un final de suspenso que seguramente la gente no esperará, y dado que la historia sigue siendo lo suficientemente entretenida e intrigante, esta vez espero que se produzca una tercera temporada. Estoy muy interesado en saber más sobre una entidad muy misteriosa y la mayoría de los espectadores de la segunda temporada probablemente pensarán lo mismo.

He lived alone with the 2 androids for the greatest part of his life, but in season 1 he can begins to interact with other humans on a regular basis. We can find this actor in Doctor Doctor, Red Dog: True Blue, and Boys in the Trees.
Travis Fimmel plays Marcus, he was an atheist and in order to survive he, along with his girlfriend, copied the faces of some Mithraic generals, and got inside a Mithraic ship. Throughout the first season, he will ditch his atheism and become one of the most radicals members of the Mithraic. This actor can be found 50 States of Fright, Vikings, and Lean on Pete.
How was the performance from the cast, the scenery, and the camera work?
The series only grown-up main characters are 2 androids who are in charge of taking care of the only child they were able to keep alive. Since they are robots, the performance of the actor and actress doesn't require much emotionality or intensity, however, I think they did a terrific job playing these advanced androids, and the actress who played Mother, Amanda Collin, also did a great job when her character begins to experience human emotions, which was something new for the robot.
The actor who plays Campion, Winta McGrath, also provided good performance and he surely seems to be maturing into a well-rounded actor.
The settings were just as good-looking as in the first season. This is one of the best aspects of this series and they didn't disappoint in this new season. It would be almost impossible to find a recent series with better visuals than this one.
When it comes to the writing, the writers were able to slowly introduce some darkness into the story, in a very similar way to what they did in season 1. They causally show things that could be considered bone-chilling or extremely immoral by the majority of the viewers. Scifi can also be a bit scary if you think about the implications of the existence of super powerful beings who are also super intelligent.
Final thoughts
HBO did a good job once again with Raised By Wolves. This company's productions are usually of very high quality and Raised by Wolves isn't the exception.
The series is not only very original but it combines mystery with scifi as well as drama and the end results are absolutely enjoyable.
I do think the series needed a cool soundtrack to go with the visuals and the intrigue of the plot, but expecting perfection isn't really reasonable. The series is super entertaining and many people, especially scifi lovers, will have a good time watching it.

Muestran causalmente cosas que podrían ser consideradas escalofriantes o extremadamente inmorales por la mayoría de los espectadores. La ciencia ficción también puede dar un poco de miedo si se piensa en las implicaciones de la existencia de seres superpoderosos que también son superinteligentes.
Reflexiones finales
HBO ha hecho un buen trabajo una vez más con Raised By Wolves. Las producciones de esta compañía suelen ser de muy alta calidad y Raised by Wolves no es la excepción.
La serie no sólo es muy original, sino que combina el misterio con la ciencia ficción y el drama y el resultado final es absolutamente disfrutable.
Creo que a la serie le hacía falta una banda sonora genial que acompañara a los efectos visuales y a la intriga de la trama, pero esperar la perfección no es realmente razonable. La serie es superentretenida y mucha gente, especialmente los amantes de la ciencia ficción, pasarán un buen rato viéndola.

Me encanta Raised By Wolves desde su primera temporada. Es un universo que tiene tantas cosas por expandir, como ejemplo el nuevo escenario donde se desarrolla la segunda temporada, conocemos el mar acido, las nuevas criaturas que viven en ese mar, hay muchas cosas por explorar en este universo.
Creo que los planes son una serie de cinco temporadas , hasta que los niños sean mas grandes, donde Campion y el otro chico seguro terminaran enfrentados por ser el líder. pero dependeré la audiencia, de lo contrario tendrán que dar un salto temporal si les dicen que cierren la historia.
Me fascina el androide madre, quiero ver como sale de donde quedo.
Me gusto la forma en que hicieron la salida de la serie de la actriz Niamh Algar. Yo me imaginaba que no continuaría, actualmente tiene varios compromisos cinematográficos, el año pasado le fue muy bien protagonizando Censor.
Espero la tercera temporada y que ojala no la cancelen. en caso de que lo hagan, que le den un cierre digno
Si, un enfrentamiento entre esos 2 niños parece inevitable de cara al futuro. A mi Madre me sorprendió desde la primera temporada con su modo de ataque, no esperaba que diese un poco de miedo pero así fue hehe.
El conflicto que se avecina con el nuevo personaje no parece que sea fácil de resolver, y Madre en esa situación lo tiene muy crudo para resolverlo ella misma. Creo que va a ser el momento de que Padre, a pesar de ser un androide normal sin poderes, se convierte en el héroe de alguna forma pero ya veremos.
Creo que la temporada que viene va a tener una primera mitad tranquila, y una segunda mitad explosiva cuando la gente se empiece a dar cuenta de las intenciones del nuevo personaje. Para mí, HBO la sacó de jonrón con esta serie, pero supongo que es normal porque esta empresa siempre saca series buenas.
Que sea de HBO me da un poco de tranquilidad de que si nos darán un final, es una serie de calidad.
Ah, me estoy poniendo al día es con The Expanse, la cual abandone cuando se estreno , luego de 3 episodios, pero la retome y voy por la tercera temporada. Es otra obra de ciencia ficción genial.

I loved first season a lot. Apocalyptic setting with imagery of what seems to be Earth exploding. But flying serpents stuff was not what I have hoped for. It was a sci-fi in the first season. With the second season, it seems to have almost turned into a fantasy exploring ruins and magic-like beings/powers. I stopped watching with 6th episode of 2nd season.
The series did get a little bit more daring this season and there was also a lot of religion-like symbolism going on. Despite these changes, I enjoyed this season just like the first one, I also wonder how are they gonna solve the presence of a new hostile being who everyone thinks is friendly.
