Ken, Barbie & AI [ D / E ]
Ihr werdet euch vielleicht denken - Puppen sind doch was für kleine Kinder. Doch ist das wirklich so? Viele von uns spielen im übertragenen Sinn immer noch mit Puppen - sei es, dass sie mit Gaming-Charakteren in diversen Spielen unterwegs sind, oder Avatare auf diversen Plattformen und im Metaversum nutzen. Ich bin da keine Ausnahme.
Gleich vorweg - mit Barbie-Puppen habe ich nie gespielt. Dennoch befindet sich eine Barbie-Puppe in meinem Besitz - und zwar die Opernball-Barbie. Es handelt sich dabei um eine limitierte Ausgabe der Puppe, die als Damenspende am Wiener Opernball 2004 anläßlich des 45-Jahr-Jubiläums des traditionsreichen Balles erhältlich war. Und ich konnte damals mit einiger Überredungskunst ein Exemplar ergattern.
Was hat das alles mit AI zu tun? Das Thema Barbie ist auf Grund des gleichnamigen Films natürlich in aller Munde und es gibt auch AI Anwendungen, mit deren Hilfe ein Barbie oder Ken Avatar kreiert werden kann.
Eines dieser Projekte ist BaiRBIE. Unter https://www.bairbie.me/ kann man ein Foto hochladen und sich "barbiefizieren" oder "kenifizieren" lassen. Ich habe zunächst versucht, wie ich als Barbie aussehen würde, das brachte aber keine wirklich guten Ergebnisse, daher habe ich eine Ken-Version von mir erstellen lassen. Am Bild ist neben der Opernball Barbie das Ergebnis dieser Transformation zu sehen. Normalerweise haben die durch die AI erzeugten Sujets den Link am Bild, welchen ich allerdings ausgeschnitten habe. Die Lücke habe ich dann mittels des Tools AI Canvas von Leonardo.Ai ergänzen lassen. Das Ergebnis kann sich glaube ich sehen lassen.

You might think - dolls are for little children, right? But is that really the case? Many of us still play with dolls in a metaphorical sense - whether it's interacting with gaming characters in various games or using avatars on different platforms and in the metaverse. I am no exception to this.
First and foremost - I never played with Barbie dolls. However, I do have a Barbie doll in my possession - the Opera Ball Barbie, to be precise. This doll is a limited edition that was available as a ladies' gift at the Vienna Opera Ball in 2004, celebrating the ball's 45th anniversary. I managed to acquire one through some persuasion at the time.
What does all of this have to do with AI? The Barbie theme is quite popular due to the film of the same name, and there are AI applications that can help create a Barbie or Ken avatar.
One such project is BaiRBIE. At https://www.bairbie.me/, you can upload a photo and have yourself transformed into a Barbie or Ken. I initially tried to see how I would look as a Barbie, but the results weren't very satisfying, so I had a Ken version of myself created. The image shows the result of this transformation alongside the Opera Ball Barbie. Normally, the subjects generated by AI have the link on the image, which I, however, cropped out. I then used the AI Canvas tool from Leonardo.Ai to fill in the gap. I believe the result is quite impressive.
