60s film camera gift for the Goodwood Revival meeting.

Well Hivers I have a friend that does the Goodwood Revival car race meeting every year in 60s dress and she was looking for a suitable camera for a while and I offered to help. This proved to be a bit more challenge than I thought it would be. The Leica liia are lovely looking but a bit early around 1930s the M series range finders go up to mid 60s but good ones are rather expensive the Kodak’s look boxy and clunky so in the end I settled for a Voigtlander Vito C a German mid 60s totally manual very retro looking camera that looks the part perfectly both in the case.

And out.

The camera seems in great condition the only thing I’ve found that’s a bit dicky is the sticking self timer which no big deal.

The camera is really well made and being all metal it has a good weight all the controls are really light and the shutter release slider next to the lens is bit quirky but easy to use.

Although it’s not a range finder the view finder is large clear and very bright and joy to use.

Working out the pop up for the film rewind took a bit of working out.

And the lack of any ASA/ISO setting really through me for a bit and made me think old school but being totally manual it doesn’t matter the ASA/ISO is set in your manual light meter, on my phone in my case and the settings and aperture from that they are set on the camera.

So Hivers time to load up a roll of Kodak Gold 200 ISO rather than the Ilford HP5 and take it out for a spin when it stops raining.

Goodwood 😍

I regret to this day not going to the event when I was living in London. Unfortunately the event went on after my visa expired. {cry}

I'm sure that's gonna be epic. I follow a guy named Dominic Chinea on YT, he attends the workshop area (that would be my favorite place to be at xD)
