What do pizza, aliens and keeping quiet have in common?

𝓐 𝓺𝓾𝓲𝓮𝓽 𝓹𝓵𝓪𝓬𝓮 𝓭𝓪𝔂 1

New York City is attacked by extraterrestrial beings, these very monstrous aliens, at first glance 'appear to have no vision and their ability to capture humans and devour them lies in their high perception of sound.

That is why at the time of the attack, the authorities quickly report this peculiar characteristic and therefore instruct the citizens to keep quiet. In the midst of this confrontation, Sam, who still doesn't know what he is facing, but who sees the city implode, decides to go for pizza...

Sam belongs to a support group or asylum for terminal cancer patients. This group is taken on a trip to the city in search of recreation but events escalate when they are about to leave the recreational theatre and go for pizza (pizza that their caregiver had promised Sam) because the city is overrun.

At that moment everyone runs and Sam, who suffers from his illness, is knocked unconscious by the blows coming from the agitation of the people. When Sam wakes up he can see how the city is invaded by alien beings, where death is associated with the noises they make. Even so, Sam decides to go for pizza with his cat Frodo to find a crowd of people heading towards the lake in order to get out of the city in boats, as the aliens cannot swim. However, as there are many people with multiple disabilities, the noise of the wheelchairs and the crowd itself causes the aliens to come after them and devour them. Sam gets lost in the crowd under a car and her cat Frodo runs away from her.

In another direction Erick appears, he is submerged in water, in a pool of water big enough to cover and hide in. When everything starts to calm down he comes out of the water and immediately sees a cat, it is Frodo. So Erick decides to go after the cat and so he joins Sam.

Sam sees Eric and continues on his way, while Eric, instead of going in the other direction in search of a boat to save his life, decides to follow Sam and the cat. Sam, who has always been unfriendly, urges this stranger to follow her way, but Eric, full of fear and anguish, only follows her as far as she goes because he also feels lonely in a city far from his family and in a panic.

As Sam and Eric lie in a shelter they have found, she is in agony as the pain of her illness consumes her body. In light of this, Eric risks his life in search of the medicine Sam needs and with the sole purpose of keeping her friend alive, he goes in search of her medication.

Despite the difficulties, panic and fear he feels, he manages to get back to Sam. But instead of going after the boats to save their lives, they decide to go for pizza!

𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓿𝓪𝓵𝓾𝓮 𝓸𝓯 𝓪 𝓹𝓲𝔃𝔃𝓪

This piece of pizza is priceless to Sam because his beloved father, who also died of cancer, was a musician who played the piano very well and always went for the best pizza in town with Sam, a little girl, after a concert. This memory is a way of escaping reality and transporting himself back in time to the moment when Sam was completely happy with his father and a slice of pizza, which is why Sam's motivation throughout the film is more than just eating pizza, it's about remembering his happy moment through food!

It's a way of inviting us to see the reality of a declaration of death. What would we do if we were destined to die? What would make you happy for the last time? What would you value? When we are destined to cease to exist from this earthly plane the simplest details are valued, a piece of music, a dance, a movie, a slice of pizza....

The film is very touching and above all I feel it holds a great message of friendship, bravery, empathy and valuing the small details of life and pizza.

Que tienen en común una pizza, extraterrestres y el guardar silencio?

𝓤𝓷 𝓛𝓾𝓰𝓪𝓻 𝓮𝓷 𝓢𝓲𝓵𝓮𝓷𝓬𝓲𝓸 𝓭𝓲𝓪 1

La ciudad de Nueva York es atacada por seres extraterrestres, estos alienígenas muy monstruosos, a simple vista ´parecen que no tienen visión y su capacidad para capturar a los humanos y devorarlos se encuentra en su alta percepción del sonido.

Es por ello que en el momento del ataque, rápidamente las autoridades informan de esta característica bien peculiar y por ello orientan a los ciudadanos que deben guardar silencio. En medio de aquel enfrentamiento Sam que aún no sabe bien a lo que se enfrenta, pero que ve como implosiona la ciudad, decide ir por pizza...

Sam pertenece a un grupo de apoyo o asilo con pacientes de cáncer terminal. Este grupo es trasladado a un paseo a la ciudad en búsqueda de recreación sin embargo los sucesos se agravan cuando en el momento de salir del teatro recreacional e irse por pizza (pizza que su cuidador le había prometido a Sam) no pueden porque la ciudad es invadida.

En ese momento todos corren y Sam que padece de su enfermedad queda inconsciente por los golpes provenientes de la agitación de la gente. Al despertar Sam logra ver como la ciudad esta invadida por seres Extraterrestres, donde la muerte esta asociada con los ruidos que estos puedan realizar. Aun así, Sam decide ir por pizza con su gato Frodo encontrado una multitud de personas que van en dirección hacia el lago para poder salir de la ciudad en los botes, ya que los alienígenas no pueden nadar. Sin embargo, como hay mucha gente con múltiples discapacidades, el ruido de las sillas de ruedas y de la multitud en sí, hacen que los extraterrestres vayan a por ellos y los devoren. Sam se pierde en la multitud debajo de un auto y su gato Frodo huye de ella.

En otra dirección aparece Erick, este se encuentra sumergido en el agua, en un pozo de agua lo bastante grande para cubrirse y esconderse. Cuando todo comienza a calmarse este sale del agua e inmediatamente mira un gato, se trata de Frodo. Así que Erick decide ir tras el gato y así se junta con Sam.

Sam al ver a Eric sigue a delante en su camino, mientras que Eric en vez de ir a la otra dirección en búsqueda de un barco para salvar su vida decide seguir a Sam y a ese gato. Sam que desde siempre ha sido de poco amigos insta a este desconocido a fuerza de puros gestos a que siga su camino, pero Eric lleno de miedo y mucha angustia solo la sigue hasta donde ella va porque él tambien se siente solo en una ciudad lejos de su familia y con mucho pánico.

Mientras Sam y Erick yacen en un refugio que han encontrado, esta agoniza por que el dolor de su enfermedad consume su cuerpo. En vista de ello Eric arriesga su vida en búsqueda de la medicina que necesita Sam y con el único fin de mantener a su amiga con vida se dirige tras sus medicamentos.

A pesar de las dificultades , del pánico y el miedo que este siente, logra regresar con Sam. Pero en vez de ir tras los barcos para salvar sus vidas resulta que deciden ir por pizza!

𝓔𝓵 𝓿𝓪𝓵𝓸𝓻 𝓭𝓮 𝓾𝓷𝓪 𝓹𝓲𝔃𝔃𝓪

Este pedazo de pizza tiene un valor incalculable para Sam y es que su amado padre el cual murió también por cáncer era un musico que tocaba muy bien el piano y siempre al salir de un concierto iba por la mejor pizza de la ciudad junto a Sam niña. Este recuerdo es una forma de escapar de la realidad y trasportarse al pasado en el momento en que Sam era completamente feliz, al lado de su padre y un pedazo de pizza. ¡Es por ello la motivación de Sam a lo largo de la película, se trata más allá de comer pizza es recordar a través de la comida su momento feliz!

Es una forma de invitarnos a ver la realidad de una declaración de muerte. ¿Que haríamos si estuviéramos destinados a morir? Que cosa te haria feliz por ultima vez? ¿ Que cosa valorarias? Cuando estamos destinados a dejar de existir de este plano terrenal los detalles más sencillos son valorados, una música, una baile, una película un trozo de pizza...

La película es muy conmovedora y sobre todo siento que guarda un gran mensaje de amistad, valentía, empatía y de valorar los pequeños detalles de la vida y la pizza.
