Review - La La Land (Una historia de amor)
Hoy quiero hacer reseña de una película que vi, se llama La La Land, una historia de amor. La película es de género romántico y musical, la verdad es que no estoy acostumbrada a ver este tipo de películas, pero sé que es algo muy común en el primer mundo, todo ese rollo de los musicales. Además de ello, hace muchos años, en mis tiempos de universidad, una profesora de lógica nos mandó a ver la película y yo nunca la vi, hubiese querido hacerle caso, la verdad es que la película es muy buena y tiene un mensaje encantador.

Today I want to review a movie I saw, it's called La La Land, a love story. The movie is a romantic and musical genre, the truth is that I'm not used to see this kind of movies, but I know it's something very common in the first world, all that stuff about musicals. Besides that, many years ago, in my college days, a logic teacher sent us to see the movie and I never saw it, I would have liked to listen to her, the truth is that the movie is very good and has a lovely message.
Esta obra protagonizada por Ryan Gosling y Enma Stone, se basa en la historia de amor de dos personas que se topan por casualidad y que pese a sus caracteres diferentes, los une la pasión por sus sueños, que para mí es una admiración de nuestro yo interior, reflejado en el otro. Uno ama el jazz y es un gran pianista, mientras que ella es una actriz en ascenso, ambos coinciden y se apoyan entre sí, surgiendo así una historia de amor encantadora, con sueños, contrastes, responsabilidades y más.
This play starring Ryan Gosling and Enma Stone, is based on the love story of two people who meet by chance and despite their different characters, they are united by the passion for their dreams, which for me is an admiration of our inner self, reflected in the other. One loves jazz and is a great pianist, while she is a rising actress, both coincide and support each other, thus emerging a charming love story, with dreams, contrasts, responsibilities and more.
Al final, cuando todo parece ser el fin de sus sueños, cada uno consigue su cauce para el mismo, Sebástian (Ryan Gosling) se va de gira con una banda y consigue abrir su propio club de jazz y Mia (Enma Stone) es llamada para audicionar y consigue ser actriz de una película que se rodará en París. Por lo que ambos se ven en la obligación de separarse para cumplir sus sueños y luego "el tiempo", les dirá que pasará con ellos.
In the end, when everything seems to be the end of their dreams, each one gets his channel for it, Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) goes on tour with a band and manages to open his own jazz club and Mia (Enma Stone) is called to audition and gets to be an actress in a film to be shot in Paris. So both are forced to separate to fulfill their dreams and then “time” will tell them what will happen to them.
Pasados 5 años, vemos a Mia entrar por cafés a su antiguo lugar de trabajo, al salir la vemos glamurosa, digna de ser toda un actriz reconocida, pero, también va acompañada de su actual esposo y vemos que ya tiene una familia. Al salir con su esposo, ambos deciden entrar a un bar, y se sorprendió al ver a Sebastián ahí como anfitrión, el mismo que se sorprende al verla también, y toca la canción que tocó el mismo día que se conocen, hace 5 años, y esa canción lleva a Mía a una realidad alterna donde se imagina como hubiese sido su vida de la misma forma que la tiene pero al lado de Sebástian, al final se miran y se despiden con una sonrisa, ambos alcanzaron sus sueños más profundos, pero, ¿y el amor?.
After 5 years, we see Mia going through cafes to her former workplace, when leaving we see her glamorous, worthy of being a recognized actress, but, she is also accompanied by her current husband and we see that she already has a family. When leaving with her husband, they both decide to enter a bar, and she is surprised to see Sebastian there as a host, the same who is surprised to see her too, and plays the song he played the same day they met, 5 years ago, and that song takes Mia to an alternate reality where she imagines how her life would have been the same way she has it but next to Sebastian, at the end they look at each other and say goodbye with a smile, both reached their deepest dreams, but, what about love.
¿Es necesario dejar el amor de lado para cumplir tus sueños o el verdadero amor se basa en la libertad de dejar al otro seguir con sus sueños, aunque eso implique que tú no estés en ellos?
Is it necessary to put love aside to fulfill your dreams or is true love based on the freedom to let the other person follow his or her dreams, even if that means you are not in them?
This movie let me thinking for a while when I watched for the first time. I think Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling performances were terrific.
