¡Hola amigos! Hoy les traigo la reseña de una película basada en hechos reales estrenada de manera reciente en la plataforma de Netflix. Les estoy hablando de La sociedad de la nieve.

Hello friends! Today I bring you the review of a movie based on real events recently released on the Netflix platform. I'm talking about Society of The Snow.

Esta película está basada en la tragedia de Los Andes que sucedió en 1972 cuando un avión que transportaba 44 pasajeros que iban desde Uruguay hasta Chile para un campeonato de Rugby pierde el control en la cordillera y termina estrellándose en la nieve ocasionando que varias de estas personas murieran en el acto y muchos otros resultaran heridos. Pero, contra todo pronóstico, hubo sobrevivientes que tuvieron que hacer lo impensado para poder continuar con vida. Esta es su historia y la de los que no lo lograron.

This film is based on the Los Andes tragedy that happened in 1972 when a plane carrying 44 passengers on their way from Uruguay to Chile for a Rugby championship lost control in the Andes and ended up crashing in the snow causing several of them to die on the spot and many others to be injured. But, against all odds, there were survivors who had to do the unthinkable to stay alive. This is their story and that of those who did not make it.

Películas realistas y crudas si las hay. Quedé asombrada con este nivel de producción y cómo lograron crear un escenario escalofriante y conmovedor. Te hace sentir en el alma lo que tuvo que soportar esta gente.

Realistic and raw films if there are any. I was amazed with this level of production and how they managed to create a chilling and moving scenario. It makes you feel in your soul what these people had to endure.

Siempre es interesante ver cómo el instinto de supervivencia parece activarse en situaciones extremas, tanto que uno pasa de cuestionarse cierto accionar pensando que nunca sería capaz de hacer algo así, pero cuando llega el momento es hacerlo o morir. Y a veces el instinto es más fuerte y solo queda obedecerlo.

It is always interesting to see how the survival instinct seems to be activated in extreme situations, so much so that one goes from questioning certain actions thinking that one would never be able to do something like that, but when the time comes it is do or die. And sometimes the instinct is stronger and the only thing left to do is to obey it.

Esta gente tuvo que soportar estar a temperaturas extremas sin ningún tipo de cobijo más que la carcaza delantera del avión, los abrigos que llevaban y su propio calor humano, en un lugar donde la vida es inexistente en temporada antes del deshielo, con temperaturas que descienden 30 grados en las noches. El agua la obtenían de la nieve que durante el día con la ayuda del sol se empezaba a derretir un poco. El principal inconveniente era la comida, no había por ningún lado. Así que aguantaron 9 días antes de decidir que si querían sobrevivir debían empezar a comer lo más a mano que tuvieran aunque haya sido discutido y juzgado: los cuerpos de las personas ya fallecidas. Pero no todos estuvieron de acuerdo, algunos aguantaron mucho más por pura fuerza de convicción, hasta que cedieron ante el hambre y la insistencia de sus compañeros.

These people had to endure extreme temperatures with no shelter other than the front shell of the plane, the coats they wore and their own human warmth, in a place where life is non-existent in the season before the thaw, with temperatures dropping 30 degrees at night. Water was obtained from the snow that during the day with the help of the sun began to melt a little. The main drawback was the food, there was no food anywhere. So they endured 9 days before deciding that if they wanted to survive they should start eating what was closest at hand, even though it had been discussed and judged: the bodies of people who had already died. But not everyone agreed, some held out much longer by sheer force of conviction, until they gave in to hunger and the insistence of their companions.

Es una película que resulta muy impactante e incómoda de ver en muchas ocasiones, pero no deja de ser parte de nuestra historia y es una prueba más de la capacidad del ser humano de rebuscársela en situaciones extremas. Te enseña a que nunca hay que perder la esperanza, hay que luchar hasta que el cuerpo diga basta. Y, sin embargo, cuando el cuerpo dice basta también puede ser un signo de esperanza. Si la ven seguro entiendan de lo que les hablo.

It is a film that is very shocking and uncomfortable to watch on many occasions, but it is still part of our history and is further proof of the ability of human beings to cope in extreme situations. It teaches you that you must never lose hope, you have to fight until your body says enough is enough. And yet, when the body says enough is enough, it can also be a sign of hope. If you watch it, you will surely understand what I am talking about.

Las actuaciones estuvieron excelente y el equipo de maquillaje se merece un aplauso por tan impecable trabajo. También fue conmovedor ver participar a los supervivientes verdaderos de esta tragedia que para muchos fue un milagro porque no esperaban que hubiera sobrevivientes. Esas escenas fueron brutales, sobre todo la de uno de los sobrevivientes que actuó de su propio padre. No dejo de pensar en lo difícil que debe haber sido tener que revivir todo esto. Pero también debe ser algo que llevarán marcado hasta el último día.

The performances were excellent and the make-up team deserves a round of applause for their impeccable work. It was also touching to see the real survivors of this tragedy participate, which for many was a miracle because they did not expect there to be survivors. Those scenes were brutal, especially the one of one of the survivors who played his own father. I can't stop thinking about how difficult it must have been to have to relive all this. But it must also be something they will carry with them until their last day.

No me queda más que empatía y admiración por estás personas, hay que cruzar Los Andes a pie con la única meta de sobrevivir, habiendo estado dos meses en situaciones poco favorables, mal nutridos, sin fuerzas más que la que los impulsaba a seguir adelante. Todos hicieron un gran trabajo en quipo, pero Nando y Roberto fueron los que lograron esta gran travesía para rescatar a sus compañeros. Nos dieron una importante lección de vida y de compañerismo. La verdad es que es una película muy recomendable de ver para conocer más de este hecho, pero háganlo bajo su precaución si son personas sensibles.

I have nothing but empathy and admiration for these people, who have to cross the Andes on foot with the only goal of surviving, having spent two months in unfavorable situations, poorly nourished, with no strength other than that which drove them forward. They all did a great job as a team, but Nando and Roberto were the ones who achieved this great journey to rescue their companions. They gave us an important lesson in life and companionship. The truth is that it is a highly recommended film to watch to learn more about this event, but do so with caution if you are sensitive.
