The Man From Toronto (2022) || Movie Review.
Over the weekend, I decided to go rampant on movies or series that have been sitting on my watchlist for a long time now. ’The Man From Toronto (2022)’ has been on my watchlist for a long time and it is my fault that I haven't made time to watch it all this while because of Kelvin Hart. I don't like him at all, he gives me the ick and he aggravates me. Unfortunately, he is always paired with actors that I like sometimes. So this makes me want to watch his movies, not because of him.
’The Man From Toronto (2022)’ is a comedy action film that was distributed by Netflix and directed by Patrick Hughes. The movie centers around a deadly assassin and New York's biggest screw-up of a man who were mistaken for each other at an Airbnb rental. It starred Kelvin Hart, Woody Harrelson, Jasmine Mathews, Kaley Cuoco, Pierson Fode, Ellen Barkin, Jencarlos Canela, Alejandro De Hoyos, Lela Lorenzo and Kate Drummond.
Teddy Jackson (Hart) is a man who is a struggling fitness entrepreneur in Virginia. With so many different business trials, no one yielded. He then was fired from his job at a local because of his dumbness and stupidity. However, when he gets home, he lies to his wife about his job. Afterwards, he takes his wife to a weekend getaway in Onancock to celebrate his wife's birthday for the first time.
To go secure their rented cabin, Teddy left his wife at a spa to go check-in. Upon arrival to the address of the cabin, he realized that he went to the wrong cabin when a named Coughlin is being held hostage and torture for information there. Teddy was mistaken for "The Man from Toronto", who is a mysterious and deadly assassin well known for his brutal interrogation techniques. To stay alive, Teddy some how intimated Coughlin into giving up the information by pretending to be “The Man From Toronto”.
Before Teddy new what was happening, the cabin was raided by the FBI and everyone was apprehended including Teddy. Afterwards, Teddy was convinced by the FBI to continue to pose as “The Man From Toronto” to help capture a Venezuelan Colonel. Will Teddy succeed in this mission? What challenges would he face?
My Review And Rating.
To be honest, I enjoyed watching this movie because of Woody, AKA the actor from Zombieland movies. The movie was bearable for me because of him and Hart was at his most annoying role in this movie. I literally felt like storing him in a mason jar and throwing him into the Pacific ocean where no one will hear of him again. I can't stand him and he irritates the hell out of me.
All his humor in the movie were aggravating, not funny and annoying that I started to wonder how his co-workers tolerate him on set. I couldn't. Till now, I have no genuine reason why I hate him, maybe it's his face, his voice, and height, I can't quite place my finger on it.
This movie was a great watch for me. I enjoyed it. It was entertaining and thrilling. It is a movie a family can sit down together and watch on a beautiful Sunday afternoon or evening.
The plot was well written except that Hart’s role and dialogues were dry, humorless and senseless to me. Apart from that, the plot of this movie was good. The director did a good job but not an impressive one. The scene arrangements were okay, the setting and the location was great. The CGI and effects were however not that impressive.
The Cast performances were good and entertaining except for Kelvin Hart. Maybe if it was another actor this movie would have been exceptional. However, some of the supporting cast failed to impress and their roles fell flat. For me, Woody was the man, he was the star and the spotlight of the movie. He held the movie together.
Rating this movie, I will give it 6 out of 10 stars. It was an entertaining, funny, and relaxing movie to watch. I had a lot of laugh out loud moments and I wish Kelvin Hart had not starred in this movie.
Have you seen it before? Did you like it?

I haven't seen this film, but I'm convinced that the problem with Kevin is that he has already played that same type of character in other films and that makes him tedious or boring.
I'm not a big fan of Kevin Hart, maybe I've seen a few movies and it's like watching Dwayne The Rock or Vin Diesel, it's the same performance for different movies and I've never liked that.
Exactly! I think that is the problem, same type annoying role everytime. That is the problem. But I would like you to give the movie a try Hahah, ignore Kelvin. You should enjoy it. Thank you for visiting and commenting. I appreciate your time here.
I haven't seen this movie and only seen one with Kevin Hart in it. It seems like this one is a pass but your review was entertaining.
Did you enjoy the one you saw? You can actually enjoy this one haha, if you can forget Hart is in the movie. I am glad you enjoyed reading my review. It is nice to have you here. I appreciate your comment and time here. PS, you unfollowed me, did I do something wrong or offend you in any way?
I saw Diet Hart, and it gave me a chuckle. I haven't really seen his movies, so maybe that influenced my response.
Weird, I haven't unfollowed anyone. Don't know how that happened. Fixed.
