The Blurred Lines Between Fact and Fiction in News

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Not all news is true but we can still believe 80% of what we hear through the news, we have different news stations some support the government and others are against the government, and most of the things that happened will never be on air for any station who supports the government, some news is fake and it travels quickly.

For me to believe any news that means I must have heard from different channels, not just only one, most times not everything we hear that we can believe, most times if I tune in to watch the news that means I am bored or tired of watching movies, or when my subscription has ended and I am not ready to subscribe my DStv then I can tune to watch NTA news.

There was a time I heard in the news that the price of Rice would come down to 40,000 naira, I heard the news and passed it to my brother, I immediately called my mother to inform her and she told me she heard the news as well, almost everyone in my street was aware of the news also the internet wasn't left behind, the same news was all on the internet but to my greatest surprised, the news was a rumor, nothing of such happened in the country, I do not know how people will sit and collate lies for the masses, news should be well filtered before digesting it to the audience.

Not everything I see or hear I will believe, like I said some news is fake, and news should be given 100% accolades because they will always want people to subscribe to their channel to make more money, I have different news channels like Punch, pulse, and many more that I can easily verify any news I heard just to be sure if the news is 100% accurate or rather leave it.

There are so many channels that are just coming up and need more audience, all these channels would do anything it takes to develop their channels, gather rumors together, and feed them to the people, and people who aren't wise enough to verify such news will start to spread it from one person to the others until 60% of the citizens settle for such news.

We only listen to what they want us to know, it is better not to investigate any secret kept from us, in order not to be in pain, I believe some secrets should be left untold, in the case of news investigating or poke-nosing to want to know more, this can damage people's mental health and stability, in my case, I do not care about watching the news, I prefer to check social media especially Twitter that is where I can get the facts about anything going on in the world rather than tuning to my country's channel and listening to their cooked lies.

Watching the news can be good in terms of agriculture and environmental services, knowing much about these can be of benefit to me but anything that has to do with politics or the development of the country just count me out because that news is not and can never be real.

This is my response to hivelearners community prompt of #hl-w131e1 which the topic is tagged News On The Hour

I heard that news of the price of the rice bag as well, and I was shocked, I was like "Could this be playing" Fortunately it was playing😁😁😁 not all news is true though it might be to an extent but then it shouldn't be trusted.

This means you are not used to watching news from the TV.
Wow...this rice news, I heard it as well, but it happened to be fake. I had said that some channels can manufacture fake news, and I don't love going to those kinds of channels.
