◼️ There was a moment when I thought about not finishing watching it because I couldn't make sense of it. I didn't know if it was a drama centered on the protagonist, with flashbacks about her loss and grief, or if it was to solve the crime.

◼️ However, I decided to continue because once the second corpse with the same characteristics appears, the theme changes to a serial killer stalking the streets.

The Killer

◼️ The killer is revealed after more than 60 minutes, although I already had suspicions. This was the most exciting part of the film, because of the characteristics he has, his ritual, and how lurid his routine and motivation turns out to be.

◼️ Both the protagonist and the criminal share a loss. The detective handles it by running away from pain and the killer by inflicting pain.

- The work of the actor who brings the serial killer to life.
- The characters fulfill their roles.
- The young rookie cop brings charisma to the plot.
- The struggle of the illegal immigrants.
- The fate of the dog, if you see the movie you will understand.
- Its final message of hope.

◼️ What I didn't like:
- The motives behind Sheng's suicide are not explained, leaving an unresolved unknown.
- Its first half is slow and focuses on police depression and clues.
- The young illegal immigrant girls deserved more prominence.
- Placing the protagonist as a superheroine who can handle everything alone.
- Its length - 2h 8min.

◼️ In general, I have noticed that in many Asian detective films, some police officers seem to lack efficiency in their work. Although I can't explain exactly why, I guess it's part of their cinematic style.
