Today I would like to recommend a War Action movie, as it is one of my favorite genres.

Argumento
The Covenant 2023 es una película de acción y guerra dirigida por Guy Ritchie.
Llegué a ella porque me encanta Jake Gyllenhaal, que es un actor extraordinario conocido por sus películas, en su mayoría buenas.
Comenzamos en Afganistán, donde el sargento John Kinley (Jake Gyllenhaal) tiene la misión de ubicar las fábricas de bombas de ISIS, en una emboscada su intérprete fallece.
Luego, en la búsqueda de un reemplazo, nos encontramos al traductor afgano Ahmed (Dar Salim) de personalidad rebelde, problemático, muy bueno en su trabajo.

Plot
The Covenant 2023 is an action and war film directed by Guy Ritchie.
I came across it because I love Jake Gyllenhaal, who is an extraordinary actor known for his mostly good films.
We start in Afghanistan, where Sergeant John Kinley (Jake Gyllenhaal) has the mission of locating ISIS bomb factories. In an ambush, his interpreter dies.
Later, in search of a replacement, we meet Afghan translator Ahmed (Dar Salim), who has a rebellious and troublesome personality but is very good at his job.
Ahmed is married, his wife is pregnant, and his desire is to leave the country, so he collaborates with the U.S., although he has a problematic personality, he does not obey orders, he acts under his own criteria. But all his actions are positive, as he knows the terrain well.

During a mission, Ahmed alerts his sergeant about a possible ambush because the route was designed by a trusted military member. Satellite images confirm that the translator was right, and there is a Taliban presence a few kilometers away.
The sergeant realizes that despite his way of acting, Ahmed is an excellent resource and decides to go beyond the procedures to locate the factories.
They arrive at a location 110 kilometers from the base, but one of the workers there alerts ISIS.
They inspect the place and discover the material they are looking for, they find the driver of the truck that killed their former translator, they shoot at the Taliban and place bombs to disappear everything that is there, one of the soldiers warns the sergeant that an Isis caravan is approaching the place.
Will they be able to escape in time or be captured by the Taliban?

Para mí era importante ver este film sin saber qué esperar, solo reconociendo al actor principal. Recomiendo no leer una sinopsis extensa, deja que la historia te sorprenda.
Me gusto esta película por qué es Humana, nos muestra unos militares con sus fallas y debilidades, en lugar de los típicos marines musculosos y perfectos.
La música añade emoción a las escenas de acción, mientras que la fotografía aporta atractivo visual. La historia es fantástica y se inspira en los miles de relatos de traductores afganos.
Las acciones de la esposa del sargento Kinley (interpretada por Emily Beecham), son acertadas. Sabe que su marido podría morir en Afganistán, pero le apoya. Es parte de los sacrificios que hacen las familias de los militares.
My opinion
For me, it was important to see this film without knowing what to expect, just recognizing the main actor. I recommend not reading a long synopsis, let the story surprise you.
I liked this movie because it is human, showing us flawed and vulnerable soldiers instead of the typical muscular and perfect marines.
The music adds excitement to the action scenes, while the cinematography provides visual appeal. The story is excellent and is inspired by the thousands of Afghan translator stories.
The actions of Sgt. Kinleys wife (played by Emily Beecham), are wise. She knows her husband could die in Afghanistan, but she supports him.It's part of the sacrifices military families make.
The film depicts the deceit and bureaucracy of the United States in recruiting translators for their purpose, only to abandon them at the mercy of the Taliban later on.
My favorite scene is when Sergeant Kinley enters the office and explains to his superior what needs to be done, demanding that he keeps his word. His eyes convey the desperation he is experiencing, along with the scenes at his home where he can't sleep.
I didn't like the special effects in the final rescue scene. The ISIS leaders in this movie do not instill fear as in other films, perhaps because their story is not significant. They appear gray, disorganized and give orders over the phone.
After 20 years, in 2021, the US withdrew its troops from Afghanistan, and the Taliban took control of the country.
La película describe el engaño y la burocracia de Estados Unidos al reclutar traductores para su propósito y abandonarlos después a merced de los talibanes. Mi escena favorita es cuando el sargento Kinley entra en la oficina y explica a su superior lo que hay que hacer, exigiéndole que cumpla su palabra. Sus ojos transmiten la desesperación que está sufriendo, junto con las escenas en su casa donde no puede dormir.
No me gustaron los efectos especiales de la secuencia final del rescate. Los líderes del ISIS en este film no infunden miedo como en otras películas, tal vez sea por qué su historia no es importante, lucen gris, desordenados y dando órdenes por teléfono.
Después de 20 años, en el año 2021 EEUU retiro las tropas de Afganistán, los talibanes tomaron el control del país.
The final message is about friendship, commitment, the debts we have in life, and what unites us as humans, beyond ideologies or religions.
In my case, I believe we should never forget those who stand by our side in difficult times.

Seriously, when I saw this movie title I said I was going to watch it but. I did not know I have watched it already.. I am still going to give a review about this movie.. mehn! This movie worth a rewatch, I love every part of the movie from a-z. I would love to be a soldier but trust me, I can't go through the stress and pains this guy's went through this movie.. nice movie choice
