How Star Wars Reflects in the Real World
While star wars is science fiction/space fantasy a lot of its themes and motifs are rooted in realism, tying back to our own reality--with that lens in consideration, I think of how there are four major professional sports leagues in my country, and only the best of the best are able to make it to those peaks. There are talented people who have put in the years of intensive training and physical dedication to reach those peaks but they fizzle out in grade school, college, or the lower levels below the official leagues themselves. Life can be "unfair" like that even to those who have done the work.
I think of this idea in Star Wars with the Force the same way. From my perspective I think the narrative beats I have been given from the SW media I have consumed have not done anything to dispute this line of thinking for me one way or the other.
