CineTv Contest: Kung Fu Hustle (2004) - A Masterclass in Action
Hello movies lovers, it's another wonderful Cinetv contest week, Last week was amazing but this week is super amazing and the reason is that the contest of this week really made me rack my brain for a selection but trust me, I am bringing the best of the best for this week's contest.
For this week's cinetv contest, we are asked to talk about a film we have watched, that has a lot of fighting scenes, and my pick for this week is a film that was released in 2004. I was so much younger then but the film left a lasting memory because of how it made me feel and I started practicing kung fu.
My pick for this week is the legendary kung-fu film Titled
Kung Fu Hustle.
Kung Fu Hustle is a cinematic masterpiece that will leave you breathless, laughing, and begging for more. I am sure many people who have watched will agree with me that the film is not just about martial arts but a mixture of comedy and a slice of life. The film was beautifully crafted, a mixture of action, humor, and heart, with a dash of satire and social commentary.
You see the woman in the picture above, she’s the landlady to an apartment and this apartment has a lot of tenants who no one knew were kung fu masters.
Ok, let me run a quick summary of the storyline.
The film is set in 1940s Shanghai, where the notorious Axe Gang, led by the ruthless Man who later turns out to have the frog kung fu style, terrorizes the locals and even people living in that rented apartment. There was a new tenant in that apartment who claim to be part of the Axe gang but he was not, The Axe gang came around to the house and everything took a turn then the guy realized he has been living with Kung fu Masters who are also living in disguise in the Pig Sty Alley. (That's the name of the apartment)
The film's greatest strength lies in the way the choreography of the fights is done. The hand-to-hand combat, different kung fu styles, the funny moves, and names of the actors are both thrilling and hilarious. The kung fu fights are beautifully staged, with a perfect blend of style, humor, and intensity.
I love the storyline because at one point I wanted to learn Kung fu so I could beat up all the bad boys in my area but that was a deadly move. I was glad I never learned or confronted those boys,
The film's climax was when the guy who everyone thought couldn't fight was dead, he came back like a new butterfly to help the apartment people win the fight because the Axe men already swore to finish them up.
But Kung Fu Hustle is more than just a fighting film. It's also a clever comedy, with physical humor that will have you laughing out loud.
The film's actors performed their roles well, for a film that was released in 2004, the performance was great. The CGI team did a very good job that remembering it now, I am still impressed.
If I have any criticisms, it's that not many people saw the film or people aren't talking about its masterpiece enough.
In conclusion, Kung Fu Hustle is a must-see film that will appeal to fans of action, comedy, and martial arts. With its expertly crafted action sequences, witty humor, and lovable characters, it's a cinematic experience you won't soon forget.
I will recommend this film to anyone, over and over again. Rating it would be easy and I would give it a 9.5/10. I believe it is worth it. If you think otherwise, then watch the trailer.

This is one of my favorite movies. It's rediculous and weird, I mean out of reality. But I love watching this hilarious action.
One thing I always look out for in the Korean movie is the way they do their choreography when acting most especially while fighting.
