CineTv Contest: The Umbrella Academy: A Time-Bending Masterpiece
Hello film lovers, it's another week for use to embark on a new journey with the CineTv community, and this week contest we are to talk about our favourite time film. When I read the post, I already had a movie in mind but @whatmidesays says I would need to pick another movie because she already wrote about it. You can read her entry here Every second count in time it was an amazing entry and since she already took the words out of my mouth, I would be writing about my second time movie but this one is a series and its not "The Flash."
This series talks about the danger of time traveling, family, super ability and many more. The title of this series is "The Unmbrella Academy" and trust me, you can't get enough of it.
The Umbrella Academy is based on the comic book series by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, the series is currently an Netflix original series that delves into the complexities of time travel, family dynamics, and the consequences of playing with the fabric of time.
The Storyline
The series is an ongoing series with 3 season currently, the series follows the story of seven adopted siblings, each with unique superpowers, who were trained by their father, to become a team of superheroes known as The Umbrella Academy.
The siblings are meant to be the best of the best as he trained them, at a point one of the siblings discovered he has the power to time travel without the use of machine but his pure ability.
He traveled several years into the future and discovered that the world has been destroyed by an unknown course, he tried going back to the part to warn his siblings but his power stopped working and this made him stucked in the future.
He was recruited by a time traveling organisation to assasinate some unwanted variant in the time line but at a point, he used his power again and it worked which took him to the past but the past he went back to was a past were one of their siblings was dead, their father was dead and is other sibling were grown adult while he was still in his younger body but with the brain of an adult.
However, after a mysterious event, the siblings disband and go their separate ways. Years later, they reunite to solve the mystery surrounding their father's death and the impending apocalypse that destroyed the world.

What I Loved and what I Hated
I loved how the series seamlessly weaves together multiple timelines, exploring the consequences of time travel and the butterfly effect. I love the action scene and how the importance of family was shown. I also love that the characters has special ability which helped them battle the obstacle in front of them. I love how they show that the siblings are all humans even with their superpowers, they also have human weakness.
What I hate about the series is the was the time jumping. Sometimes, some obvious things that should be known will be totally ignored like they don't think but I guess it's all part to make the movie a good one.
The Influence it has on me
The Umbrella Academy has influenced me to think more critically about the consequences of my actions, particularly when it comes to meddling with time. I have come to understand that time waits for no man and how you use your time tells a lot about you. It is important to know that every action we talk at every seconds has an effect in our life or the life of the people surrounding us or even in our future.
Most Interesting Part
The most interesting aspect of the series for me was when they all discovered their youngest siblings or so also has special ability. The fact that their father was the only person that knew about her ability and one other sibling was crazy. Her ability was hidden from her siblings because she was the most powerful and unstable one among them. The discovery opened a new part in the movie and this brought in new scene and character development.
Memorable Scene
One scene that still pops into my mind is the dance sequence in the first episode, where the siblings reunite at their father's funeral. The scene is beautifully choreographed, showcasing the characters' unique personalities and powers.
Standout Performances
The standout performances came from the character named number 5. The sibling with the time traveling ability. He is a young boy but the fact that he has to act like a child with the brain of a 60+ year old man was outstanding. He was an amazing character and he was one of the most loved characted in the movie.
The Umbrella Academy is an interesting movie for all to see, if you know you want to be lost in time where love, action, comedy are all involved, then I present to you "The Umbrella Academy"
I will rate this movie an 8.5/10, trust me, you will love it. Thanks for reading, my name is Fashtioluwa.

Well well well, looks like it's a win-win situation for us both because this movie you have written about is equally amazing. Although, I didn't watch pass season 1 mainly because I was watching it alongside The Originals at the time and you know no movie/series can compete with THE ORIGINALS.
Nicely reviewed! Permission to copy this writing format for my next movie review, sire? 🤭
You just made me want to rewatch this because at the time I first watched it, I did not care about anything more than just seeing the next episode, so I binged through the whole series.
My favorite character was Klaus, and to me he was the most powerful, I believe the true length of his power were revealed in the latter seasons. Number 5 went from being interesting to just being annoying in the series, maybe I'll have a change of mind when I rewatch this.
This movie sounds familiar. From your review, I feel like I have seen the first one. The last sibling was manipulated into destroying the world because of her instability but number 5 helped put a stop to it by asking all his siblings to work together.
I enjoyed watching it back then. Nice review 👍
