Anime recommendation: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

This post will have spoilers from Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood.

This anime tells a story about Elric brothers Edward and Alphonse who tried to do something that was forbidden- bring back their dead mother. Their ritual failed and they got to pay very high price-Edward lost an arm and a leg(he had to replace them with robotic limbs) and Alphonse lost his body and became a walking suit of armor. After that brothers tried to find the intel that would help them regain what they lost. In their search for a miracle they met many fascinating friends and enemies: Roy Mustang, Maes Hughes, Riza Hawkeye, Scar, Wrath and other homunculi. Those characters had interesting goals/ were complex and made great progress. Fighting powers called Alchemy were interesting it seemed that each character has their own unique fighting style and powers. Some of the ,,good guys'' were villains all along. The main Villain accomplished his goals and basically became a demigod. But most memorable villain was not the one who attempted to reach godhood. Nor was it corrupt government leaders for which Elric brothers were working. No...It was a simple man whom I believe appeared only in one or two episodes. That man for his own selfish reasons sacrificed his wife and later merged his daughter with their dog. As you can see this show is prety dark for a shonen. The plot is intriguing and the cast is great. I definitely think that this show is better than most shonen and is at the top with Hunter x Hunter 2011 and Rurouni Kenshin. It is not my favorite show of all time- I enjoy Berserk, Monster, Kaiji, One Outs, Ippo, Major, Rose of versailles... more. But with that being said I highly recommend Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood for both new anime watchers and those who have been watching anime for a long time.
