Dandadan Anime Review 2024
Dandadan is a "brand new" anime that was released in September 2024. I used the "" as the manga is running for a couple of years and already there are 175 chapters out! The author is Yukinobu Tatsu and he doesn't have another well-known manga only this one. Now Dandadan falls under the action, Sci-fi, shounen and Supernatural genres but i would also add the comedy category as well. So far there are 9 episodes out and in total the season will have 12.
Plot
Now the plot is a bit weird and funny. We got Momo Ayase and Okarun who are both students. Momo is like a somewhat badass girl with friends but Okarun is the usual nerd. Now Okarun believes that aliens exist and constantly reads articles and books related to it.
Momo believes in ghosts and she considers it a fact as he Aunt is supposed to be a medium or something. Now as due to some events they get to talk during the first episode, both think that each other's beliefs are lame and fake. Momo thinks that no Alien exists and the same applies to Okarun beliefs in regards to Ghost.
Thus, they set a challenge. Momo will go to a place Okarun considers aliens to leave there and Okarun to a place where ghosts are. The funny and interesting thing is that both aliens and ghosts exist and they both have to face them off and save themselves. In the attempt to do so, both will awaken some kind of powers and from there we get to see their adventures.
What I Liked and What I Didn't
To tell you the truth i like the idea and the power of the protagonists and how these powers evolve as i have read 2/3 of the Manga as well. I also like how the aliens/ghosts are in terms of design. The fight scenes are amazing as well. Now i need to also point out that the studio behind the animation did phenomenal work and i mean it 100%. Episode 7 is so well-animated that it has a 9.8/10 rating on IMDb and honestly i agree as well.
I have 2 things to point out as negatives. The humor that this anime/manga has it's not the average one. In other words, you will either like it a lot or not at all. I am in the "not at all" category but because i like everything else i watch and read it. The other thing that i don't particularly like which has nothing to do with the manga itself is that there are things that the studio or the producers, i don't know, decided to skip or don't accurately depict. There are things that are missing even in episode 7 which received a 9.8/10 rating.
Overall, i would give it 7/10 with the possibility to get to 7.5/10 for me!

I refuse to watch this anime before it's completed!😔 You guys(this includes edits and reviews) want to spoil it before I actually get the chance to watch it. I have been seeing it everywhere and I already watched the first episode so I know it's really good;)

Haha no worries about Spoilers, I only mentioned what's happening in the first 1-2 episodes! And in general there is no "actual plot" at least in the 2/3 of the manga i read

Well, since it's only just airing and I haven't read the Manga, I can't really give it a rating yet, honestly. But what you say about the humor in anime is true, which is not for everyone, let's be realistic. It is clear that the work seeks to address a younger audience, especially those who are fans of both Shōnen and aliens and ghosts. But, on the other hand, the audiovisual work, the way the characters and the stories are developed, do give a lot to talk about, really.

The first season is almost over, 3 episodes left! But regarding the humor and audiovisual that's really the case. For example a friend of mine watches it for the humor and i for audiovisual :P
