Hello my dear friends of #Movies&Tvshow I greet you hoping that everything is going well in your lives. The musical that I bring you today is a jewel that came out of Argentina brought to us by Disney to show us two artists who immortalised music in the early 1900s, Carlos Gardel and Frank Sinatra. One a tango artist, recognised in the world at a time when newspapers and radio barely existed; the other, an aspiring singer who had not had the opportunity to have his talent recognised until many years after the death of our Argentinian protagonist.
What is the film about? Well, Gardel gives a concert in New York and at the end Frank enters the dressing room to start a conversation, turned into a musical and immortalising one of the best moments in the history of these two singers.
What did I like?
EVERYTHING!
Listing my reasons for that "everything":
🎼 I recently saw a musical that I shared with you (The Color Purple) and I was enchanted by this type of film because I think I'm a good listener. I was a bit wary because it was an "unknown" genre for me like tango, but I fell in love with it because of its sensuality, lyrics, interpretation and rhythm. I loved it! and now it has become one of my most listened songs on my Youtube 😍.
🎼 As for the songs, not boring at all! I loved that some of them I knew or at least I had heard them, how wonderful! After a hundred years to know that this music is still present was what kept me caught, listening to each song, stopping the film, looking for the songs, is that really my friends, you don't have to be very young or very old to enjoy the talent of Carlos Gardel in what stood out and highlighted as the music of Argentina and be the greatest exponent of that genre!
🎼 Another thing I loved was that I imagined myself at Disney; I say this because in the film you don't need to know English to understand Frank as Carlos does not speak Spanish, it is to understand that for the music and the connection that this generates, language is not a barrier. The film is made in English and Spanish. The songs are in Spanish and Frank performs them in English, but believe me, there came a moment when I didn't need to read the dialogue because I understood perfectly what they meant. I haven't been to Disney but I guess I don't need to know the language to enjoy their shows😊.
🎼 The actors was something I loved (yes I know, I loved everything). Oscar Lajad and Pablo Turturiello (Argentinian and Uruguayan respectively) did it masterfully. Oscar is a tango singer and follower of Gardel, so it was his moment to triumph! In Pablo's case, he was more jovial, his innocence was genuine but also his voice was impeccable. Antonella (who played Nancy, Frank's girlfriend) I didn't get much information but she still did very well; her wardrobe, her way of behaving like the women of that time, was very well executed by her, Bravo!
🎼 The scenery was, you know, lovely 🤣. It just didn't take much production or ambience. I really liked what happened in the dressing room because of the dialogue and the comedy, complicity and communication that the artists had, nothing else was needed. But, being Disney, it was obvious that the staging was very clean, beautiful, highlighting the best of the songs sung, the costumes were very fashionable, very good 😊.
🎼 The message is varied; firstly, that art and talent have no communication barriers, so this makes it suitable for all ages; then, that the music of yesteryear does not go out of fashion and that is nice to highlight; also, taking into account the Latino audience and making a film in Spanish that has been seen in other languages, implies that we are breaking those limitations of the dialect; Finally, values such as respect, solidarity, friendship, affection, love for their ideals, passion for their dreams, admiration between the two artists are highlighted, it is truly a film that touches the most beautiful fibre of a friendship.

Enumerando mis razones de ese "todo":
🎼 Hace poco vi un musical que compartí con ustedes (El Color Púrpura) y quedé encantada con este tipo de películas porque creo que soy bien auditiva. Tenía un poco de recelo por ser un género "desconocido" para mí como el tango, pero del cual quedé enamorada por su sensualidad, letras, interpretación y ritmo ¡Lo amé! y ahora se ha convertido en una de mis canciones escuchadas en mi Youtube 😍.
🎼 En cuanto a las canciones ¡Para nada aburridas! me encantó que algunas las conocía o al menos las había escuchado ¡Que maravilla! Después de cien años saber que esa música todavía esta presente fue lo que me mantuvo atrapada, escuchando cada canción, deteniendo la película, buscando las canciones, es que de verdad mis amigos, no hay que ser muy joven o muy viejo para disfrutar del talento de Carlos Gardel en lo que destacó y resaltó como la música de Argentina y ser el mayor exponente de ese género ¡Sigue sumando puntos!
🎼 Otra cosa que me encantó fue que me imaginé en el el parque Disney; lo digo porque en la película no hace falta saber inglés para entender a Frank
y ya que Carlos habla español, es entender que para la música y la conexión que esto genera, el idioma no es una barrera. La película esta hecha en inglés y español. La canciones son en español y Frank las interpreta en inglés, pero creánme que llegó un momento que el diálogo no hacía falta leerlo porque entendía perfectamente lo que querían decir. Ojo, no he estado en Disney pero me imagino que no necesito saber el idioma para disfrutar de sus espectáculos😊.
🎼 Los actores fue algo que me encantó (si ya sé, todo me encantó). Oscar Lajad y Pablo Turturiello (argentino y uruguayo, respectivamente) lo hicieron de manera magistral. Oscar es un cantante de tango y seguidor de Gardel, así que fue su momento ¡Para triunfar! En el caso de Pablo, fue más jovial, se veía genuina su inocencia pero también su voz fue impecable. De Antonella (que interpretó a Nancy, la novia de Frank) no conseguí mucha información pero igual lo hizo muy bien; su vestuario, forma de comportarse como las mujeres de esa época, estuvo muy bien ejecutada por ella ¡Bravo!
🎼 El escenario fue, ya ustedes saben, encantador 🤣. Es que no hizo falta mucha producción o ambientes. Lo desarrollado en el camerino me gustó mucho porque el diálogo y la comedia, complicidad y comunicación que tuvieron los artistas, no hizo falta más nada. Pero, siendo Disney obvio que no podía faltar una puesta en escena muy limpia, bonita, destacando lo mejor de las canciones cantadas, el vestuario propio de la moda, muy bien todo 😊.
🎼 El mensaje es variopinto; primero que el arte y el talento no tiene barreras comunicacionales, así que esto lo hace acorde a todas las edades; luego, que la música de antes, no pasan de moda y eso es bonito de resaltar; también, el tomar en cuenta al público latino y hacer una película en español que se ha visto en otros idiomas, implica que estamos rompiendo esas limitaciones del dialecto; por último se resaltan valores como el respeto, la solidaridad, la amistad, el cariño, el amor por sus ideales, pasión por los sueños, admiración entre ambos artistas, de verdad que es una película que toca las fibra de lo más bonito de una amistad.

Do I recommend it? A thousand times yes. Although I later read that this fact is something that was not proven and there are even those who refute this encounter, and that for certain it will never be known because neither of them spoke of such an episode, if it had been, it would have been exactly the same; a man at the peak of his career, an aspiring singer who did not trust himself, a chance encounter and a bond that was born that night to immortalise many songs of the great Sinatra years later.
