Hello, hello my dear lovers of good movies and TV! This weekend we have stayed at home, Mathias has some flu, so we have watched a couple of horror movies for kids hahaha, well, Halloween is coming and they are the movies that the streaming apps suggest us, and Mathias loves them, this time I will share with you my review about The Haunted Mansion, a movie based on a Disney amusement park, and of which a version had already been made in 2003, starring Eddie Murphy, and now 20 years later this new installment has been released, with actors like Danny DeVito, and Owen Wilson, who let us see that this horror movie also has a touch of comedy, which makes it suitable for the little ones of the house, and to tell the truth, I love these movies.
In this version of the popular haunted mansion, we come across two main stories, that of Ben (Lakeith Stanfield), a widower depressed by the loss of his wife, an astrophysicist who ended up as a ghostly tour guide, who does not believe in ghosts, after his wife's death; and the story of Gabbie (Rosario Dawson) and her son Travis (Chase W. Dillon, a widowed doctor who along with her son moves to the old Gracey Manor mansion, with the intention of starting a new life and converting it into a hotel , encountering on their first night a ghost that made them run in terror, and when he saw them flee, he told them to return soon, and that in the mansion is the ghost of Alistair Crump the Hatbox Ghost (voice of Jared Leto), an evil entity that does not let whoever enters this house leave from there, so wherever they are, it sends ghosts to torment them, making them return.

We also have the participation of Winona Ryder and Jamie Lee Curtis, with quite punctual participations, so to speak, but which are undoubtedly notorious, which I personally loved, because they are that kind of flash that make you say, Hey look at this! and you continue with the attention in the film. Special effects, funny dialogues, interesting individual stories, that keep us entertained throughout the 123 minutes that the film lasts, although it is true that it was released last August, it is a perfect movie for this month, and if you are like my son and me, that we do movie marathons depending on the holidays, this should definitely be on your list.
Excellent computer generated special effects, a lighting according to the theme of the film, and an impeccable performance of each of the actors, place this film within my favorites of the season, although it has received criticism for not being more terrifying, I think it has the right terror for the smallest of the house, another criticism with which I agree, is the fact that they do not develop a little further the story of the ghosts, however, when we consider the fact of the large number of ghosts that inhabit the house, I think it would be a film that would become a series, and having as a reference point the version starring Eddie Murphy in 2003, it is difficult to give it a good score, although focusing only on this and obviating a little criticism, I'll give it an 8/10.

Este fin de semana nos hemos quedado en casa, Mathias tiene algo de gripe, así que nos hemos visto un par de películas de terror para niños jajaja, pues, se acerca Halloween y son las películas que nos sugieren las aplicaciones de streaming, y a Mathias le encantan, en esta oportunidad les compartiré mi crítica sobre La Mansión Embrujada, una película basada en un parque de atracciones de Disney, y de la cual ya se había hecho una versión en 2003, protagonizada por Eddie Murphy, y ahora 20 años más tarde ha salido esta nueva entrega, con actores de la talla de Danny DeVito, y Owen Wilson, que nos dejan ver que esta película de terror también tiene un toque de comedia, lo cual, la hace apta para los más pequeños de la casa, y a decir verdad, estas películas a mí me encantan.
En esta versión de la popular mansión embrujada, nos topamos con dos historias principales, la de Ben (Lakeith Stanfield), un viudo deprimido por la pérdida de su esposa, un astrofísico que termino como guía turístico fantasmal, que no cree en fantasmas, luego de la muerte de su esposa; y la historia de Gabbie (Rosario Dawson) y su hijo Travis (Chase W. Dillon, una doctora viuda que junto a su hijo se mudan a la vieja mansión Gracey Manor, con la intensión de empezar una nueva vida y convertir la misma en un hotel, encontrándose en su primera noche con un fantasma que los hizo correr despavoridos, y que al verlos huir les dice que regresaran pronto, y es que en la mansión está el fantasma de Alistair Crump el Hatbox Ghost (voz de Jared Leto), una entidad malvada que no deja que el que entre a esta casa se vaya de allí, por lo que en donde se encuentren, envía fantasmas a atormentarlos, haciéndolos regresar.
Gabbie en su desespero y queriendo proteger a su hijo Travis, busca al padre Kent (Owen Wilson), para que haga un exorcismo, y este a su vez contacta a Ben, que en su afán de comunicarse con su difunta esposa Alyssa, desarrollo una cámara capaz de captar la materia oscura que dejan los fantasmas, el padre Kent quien ya había quedado preso de la mansión, convence a Ben sin explicarle menudo detalle, y este quedó prendado a la mansión como era de esperarse, por lo que este obstinado hombre trama un plan para deshacerse de los fantasmas y así poderse liberar de la mansión, este plan incluye a una médium, Harriet (Tiffany Haddish) y al profesor Bruce Davis (Danny DeVito), estos conforman un equipo bastante divertido, con el que las escenas divertidas no se hacen esperar, así como también las escenas emotivas.
Tenemos además la participación de Winona Ryder y Jamie Lee Curtis, con participaciones bastante puntuales, por así decirlo, pero que sin duda alguna son notorias, mismas que en lo personal me encantaron, porque son esa especie de flash que te hacen decir, ¡Hey mira esto! y continuas con la atención en la película. Efectos especiales, diálogos divertidos, historias individuales interesantes, que nos mantienen entretenidos a lo largo de los 123 minutos que dura la cinta, si bien es cierto que se estrenó en el pasado agosto, es una película perfecta para este mes, y que si eres como mi hijo y yo, que nos hacemos maratones de películas dependiendo de las festividades, esta sin duda alguna, debe estar en tu lista.
Excelentes efectos especiales generados por computadora, una iluminación acorde con la temática de la película, y una actuación impecable de cada uno de los actores, colocan a esta película dentro de mis favoritas de la temporada, si bien ha recibido críticas por no ser más terrorífica, me parece que tiene el terror justo para los más pequeños de la casa, otra de las críticas con las que estoy de acuerdo, es el hecho de que no desarrollan un poco mas allá la historia de los fantasmas, sin embargo, cuando consideramos el hecho de la gran cantidad de fantasmas que habitan en la casa, creo que sería una película que se convertiría en serie, y teniendo como punto de referencia la versión protagonizada por Eddie Murphy en 2003, es difícil darle una buena puntuación, aunque enfocándome solo en esta y obviando un poco las críticas, yo le daré un 8/10.

Hello hello! You know I never saw this movie, it didn't catch my attention at all, but it may have been because I was in my teens. On the other hand, I didn't know anything about this new version, but after reading you and aware that we live in the future I think I can put it on my waiting list (that is, this version). How nice that you accompany Mathias in his discomfort, and there is no better way than this, a good movie and snuggling under mommy's love...
Yo no soy muy fanática de Eddie Murphy, pero esa version no estuvo mal, y para ser sinceros prefiero esta version, también ah de ser porque hay varios actores dentro de la misma, que me gusta como trabajan, espero la puedas ver, para pasar un rato comiendo cotufas, esta buena jajaja, y si, aquí estoy cuidando a mi monito, espero que mejore pronto. Si le da un 8 es porque valdrá la pena.. la he querido ver pero todos sabemos como ha estado la cosa con Disney, me cuesta confiar en sus producciones. Todas las adaptaciones que han hecho bajo mi opinión han estado flojas, Hocus Pocus es un buen ejemplo. Lo que me llama la atención es el cast, es top.
