July at the stable 🏇

Hello, dear Hivers!

It's been a long time since I wrote, but I was busy this summer. Every year, same as this one I worked at the stable. People who know me, know about my love towards horses - it's been growing for a few years stronger and better, too.
This year at the stable were four camps for children which took a whole month. We looked after ten horses - fed them, walked them out to the pastures, nurtured them (Hirma again had a problem with her leg, and Bruno needed some oils for hoofs) and generally took good care of them, as they worked hard. The owner bought a new one for that family - a wonderful grey Lippizaner mare, we call her Daisy. She's young, around six years old, very comfortable to ride, and walks great in terrain, although she's fast and loves to calve. I rode on her a couple of times, the first was a little bit scary as I wasn't prepared that she'd run off the hill and I hit a tree. I'm alive, sure, but my helmet got a little bit off, I've got to buy a new one, though. I only had some bruises on my arm and neck.
We had great kids, some of them already knew from past years and those, who ride at our stable as well.
Most of the time we spent at the stable, but we got some time to play sneak peeks and different games, we called "the flags" - we separated them into two teams, and each team had to prepare their story, anthem, shout, and of course, their flag, too.
Despite the time, my friend and I (the instructors and tutors) were sick (we had antibiotics for lymphadenitis) it was great. The atmosphere there is truly uncanny, so that helps with other bad feeling of tiredness. Nevertheless, I will always love to be back and spent time with these wonderful animals.

Dawno nie pisałam, ale tego lata byłam bardzo zajęta. Każdego roku, tak jak i tego, pracowałam w stajni. Ci, którzy mnie znają, wiedzą o mojej miłości do koni - od kilku lat jest ona coraz silniejsza i coraz lepsza.
W tym roku w stajni odbyły się cztery obozy dla dzieci, które trwały cały miesiąc. Opiekowaliśmy się tymi wspaniałymi zwierzętami - karmiliśmy je, wyprowadzaliśmy na pastwiska, pielęgnowaliśmy (Hirma znów miała problem z nogą, a Bruno potrzebował olejków do kopyt) i ogólnie dbaliśmy o nie, bo ciężko pracowały. Właściciel kupił dla tej rodziny nową klacz - cudowną siwą Lippizanerkę, którą nazywamy Daisy. Jest młoda, ma około sześciu lat, bardzo wygodnie się na niej jeździ i świetnie chodzi w terenie, choć jest szybka i uwielbia się cielić. Jechałem na niej kilka razy, pierwszy był trochę przerażający, ponieważ nie byłem przygotowany na to, że zbiegnie ze wzgórza i uderzę w drzewo. Na pewno żyję, ale mój kask trochę się potłukł, muszę kupić nowy. Miałem tylko kilka siniaków na ramieniu i szyi.
Mieliśmy świetne dzieciaki, niektóre z nich znaliśmy już z poprzednich lat i te, które również jeżdżą w naszej stajni.
Większość czasu spędziłyśmy w stajni, ale miałyśmy też trochę czasu na zabawę w podchody i różne gry, które nazwałyśmy "flagami" - podzieliłyśmy je na dwie drużyny, a każda drużyna musiała przygotować swoją historię, hymn, okrzyk i oczywiście swoją flagę.
Pomimo czasu, ja i moja przyjaciółka (instruktorki i wychowawczynie) byłyśmy chore (chorowałyśmy na zapalenie węzłów chłonnych i miałyśmy antybiotyk), to było świetnie. Atmosfera tam jest naprawdę niesamowita, więc to pomaga z innym złym uczuciem zmęczenia. Niemniej jednak, zawsze będę chciała wrócić i spędzić czas z tymi wspaniałymi zwierzętami.
