Baki Hanma Vs. Kengan Ashura

Friends of the community, I hope everyone is well. It's a pleasure to be back here, after a while of not being able to watch anime series due to Internet connection and electricity problems, which is usual in my country. But luckily and after a while, I had the opportunity to see a new movie based on two unprecedented martial arts anime, such as Baki Hanma and Kengan Ashura. I must say that I have only seen the first anime (Baki), I have never seen Kengan Ashura, but apparently both are very similar, so I have not encouraged me to watch it. Maybe by watching this movie, one day of this I will, to have much more knowledge.

Amigos de la comunidad, espero que todos se encuentren bien. Es un placer estar de vuelta por acá, luego de un tiempo de no poder ver series animadas por problemas de conexión de Internet y con la electricidad, que es habitual en mi país. Pero por suerte y luego de un tiempo, tuve la oportunidad de ver una nueva película basada en dos animes sin precedente de artes marciales, como lo es Baki Hanma y Kengan Ashura. Debo decir que solo he visto el primer anime (Baki), nunca he visto Kengan Ashura, pero por lo visto ambos son muy parecidos, así que no me he animado a verlo. Puede que al ver esta película, un día de esto lo haga, para tener mucho más conocimiento.

Both anime series are apparently similar, martial arts, fighting, although we know that Baki is much older, while Kengan was published recently, being its first manga edition in 2012. Baki is really a classic, it is an anime of which I did not have many expectations when a friend recommended it to me, I even watched it alone because he came to my house and played the anime. I must say that this genre of martial arts is not one of my favorites, but it is something different from what I normally see and sometimes it is good to enjoy something different.

Ambas series animadas por lo visto son similares, de artes marciales, de peleas, aunque sabemos que Baki es mucha más antiguar, mientras que Kengan fue publicado recientemente, siendo su primera edición del manga en el 2012. Baki es realmente un clásico, es un anime de la cual no tenía muchas expectativas cuando me lo recomendó un amigo, incluso lo vi solo porque vino a mi casa y puso el anime. Debo decir que este género de artes marciales no es de mi favoritos, pero es algo distinto a lo que veo normalmente y a veces es bueno poder disfrutar de algo diferente.

The idea of the film was to pit characters from both series against each other in a fight in the subway arena of the Baki universe. The idea initially seemed pretty good to me and when I saw the film, I didn't hesitate to watch it. The production is from June 6 of this year, where I had high expectations among the fandom of both sagas, since it promised the fans that they would live an unforgettable experience, with great duels, with lots of action, but what can never be missing is the blood and the duels to death of each of the characters. Both series have characters that live and die for the fight, they are born fighters, who cannot avoid living without a fight.

La idea de la película era enfrentar a los personajes de ambas series en un combate en la arena subterránea del universo de Baki. La idea en un principio me pareció bastante buena y cuando vi el filme, no dudé en verlo. La producción es del 6 de junio de este año, donde tenía altas expectativas entre el fandom de ambas sagas, ya que le prometía a los fanáticos que vivirían una experiencia inolvidable, con grandes duelos, con mucha acción, pero lo que sí nunca puede faltar es la sangre y los duelos a muertes de cada uno de los personajes. Ambas series tiene unos personajes que viven y mueren por la lucha, son unos peleadores natos, que no pueden evitar el poder vivir sin una pelea.

The plot of the movie talks about what in principle is a super tournament where fighters of the Baki and Kengan Ashura sagas will face each other, nothing more than that, there is not much story to see, just the fights and some flashbacks where the fighters were talking to the characters they were going to face. Yes, the movie lacks a story, because the fights and their developments, is the center of the whole production, so that's what should highlight the movie and from my point of view this didn't happen. The fights were kind of too short, I missed much more forcefulness that if we see in the original animated series, at least in Baki Hanma.

La trama de la película habla de lo que en principio es un supertorneo donde se enfrentaran peleadores de las sagas de Baki y Kengan Ashura, nada más que eso, no hay mucha historia que ver, tan solo las peleas y algunos flashbacks en donde a los peleadores se les hablaba a los personajes a la cual se iban a enfrentar. Sí, la película carece de una historia, pues las peleas y sus desarrollos, es el centro de todo la producción, así que es lo que debe de destacar en la película y desde mi punto visto esto no sucedió. Las peleas fueron como que muy cortas, me faltó mucha más contundencia que si vemos en las series animadas originales, al menos en Baki Hanma.

We do appreciate the ability of each of the fighters, that being an anime where the fighters in many things have extraordinary skills, which give pleasure to know how they were won, but that more than with the strong training, where dedication and tenacity is one of the virtues that we will find in the characters, no matter who are the losers and winners. What I realized when watching the movie is that the main characters Baki and Ohma Tokita are quite similar, they like fights, they are carefree and calm, but at the time of the battles they are very feared, since they finish with their opponents.

Sí que apreciamos la habilidad de cada uno de los peleadores, que a ser un anime donde los luchadores en muchas cosas poseen habilidades extraordinarias, que dan gustó conocer como fueron ganadas, pero que más que con el fuerte entrenamiento, donde la dedicación y la tenacidad es una de las virtudes que encontraremos en los personajes, sin importantes quien sean los perdedores y ganadores. Lo que me di cuenta al ver la película es que sus protagonistas Baki y Ohma Tokita son bastantes parecidos, les gustan las peleas, son despreocupados y tranquilos, pero a la hora de las batallas son muy temidos, ya que acaban con sus contrincantes.

The animation of the series seemed pretty good to me, nothing I should complain about. The characters are very well drawn, I even see them improved when talking about Baki, since it was the series I saw recently and I can give a much more objective opinion. The movements and effects in every attack of the characters, besides the blood, every sweat and tears that we can observe, are really very detailed and it is something that I appreciate a lot, because I have a high experience in the movie, even if the story itself is not what we expected at first. The soundtrack is also another of the successes that we can highlight of this film.

La animación de la serie me pareció bastante buena, nada que me deba quejar. Los personajes están muy bien dibujados, incluso los veo mejorados cuando de Baki se habla, ya que fue la serie que vi recientemente y puedo dar una opinión mucha más objetiva. Los movimientos y efectos en cada ataque de los personajes, además de la sangre, cada sudor y lágrimas que podemos observar, son realmente muy detalladas y es algo que agradezco mucho, debido a que así tengo una alta experiencia en la película, más allá que la historia en sí no sea lo que esperábamos en un principio. La banda sonora también es otro de los aciertos que podemos destacar de esta película.

**What did I think of the movie? In general I can tell you that this movie of Baki Hanma Vs. Kengan Ashura seemed to me quite good, to be able to face people from both sagas, enjoy the power of each one and really see who are the strongest. The fights are pretty even, although the ending is very predictable, the film leaves me with the feeling that they don't want to show any favoritism. As I said before, the fights lacked much more forcefulness, as martial arts anime are used to, at least the few I've seen. Another negative point is the lack of history of the characters, to see at least fragments of how they became the great fighters they are, since not everyone has seen the anime.

¿Qué me pareció la película? En líneas generales les puedo decir que esta película de Baki Hanma Vs. Kengan Ashura me pareció bastante bueno, el poder enfrentar a personas de ambas sagas, disfrutar el poder de cada uno y ver realmente quienes son los más fuertes. Las peleas son bastantes parejas, aunque el final muy predecible, el filme me deja la sensación que no quieren mostrar ningún favoritismo. Como les dije anteriormente, las peleas le faltaron mucha más contundencia, como los animes de artes marciales nos tienen acostumbrados, al menos de las pocas que he visto. Otro punto negativo es la falta de historia de los personajes, ver al menos fragmentos de como llegaron a ser los grandes peleadores que son, ya que no todos han visto los animes.

But the reality of it all is that 60 minutes is too little time to capture a good plot and even more when we see several fights, everything seemed very accelerated and at the end the winners and losers of the fights came out of nowhere, when I least expected it. The movie was a disappointment, as it did not meet my expectations that I had in advance, but this does not mean that it was so bad and a failure, but left more than one with the desire to see a good development of the fights, otherwise it was quite acceptable, even exceeded my expectations, this when it comes to animation and soundtrack.

Pero la realidad de todo es que 60 minutos es muy poco tiempo para plasmar una buena trama y más cuando vemos hay que varias peleas, todo me pareció muy acelerado y que al final los ganadores y perdedores de las peleas salían de la nada, cuando menos me lo esperaba. La película fue una decepción, ya que no cumplió con mis expectativas que tenía en la previa, pero esto no quiere decir que haya sido tan mala y un fracaso, pero dejó a más de uno con las ganas de ver un buen desarrollo de las peleas, por lo demás estuvo bastante aceptable, incluso superó mis expectativas, esto cuando se refiere a la animación y la banda sonora.
