Life of a King is a movie I saw recently and I want to tell you a little bit about what my personal experience was. The film is from 2013, it was directed by Jake Goldberger, while the script was written by the same filmmaker who directed the film, with the collaboration of David Scott and Dan Wetzel. This film is a drama based on true events, a story worth mentioning.

La Vida de un Rey es una película que vi recientemente y de la cual les quiero hablar un poco de cuál fue mi experiencia personal. El filme es del año 2013, fue dirigido por Jake Goldberger, mientras que el guion fue escrito por el mismo cineasta que dirigió el filme, con la colaboración de David Scott y Dan Wetzel. Esta película es un drama basado en hechos reales, una historia que vale la pena mencionar.

Life of a King, original title of the film, is a movie that as I said before is a story based on true events that tells us about Eugene Brown, an ex-convict, who later became the janitor of a school in Washington D. C. where most of the young people are rebels, but he creates a chess club to try to help them not to live through everything he went through. Crime is the order of the day, drug sales, homicides, where many end up dead or in jail, so Eugene tries to make a difference. Many times the road is not easy, no matter how much one wants to help, different things happen that mark our lives.

Life of a King, título original del filme, es una película que como les dije anteriormente es una historia basada en hechos reales que nos habla de Eugene Brown, un expresidiario, quien luego fue conserje de una escuela en Washington D. C. donde la mayor parte de los jóvenes son rebeldes, pero este crea un club de ajedrez para tratar de ayudarlos a no vivir por todo lo que pasó. La criminalidad está a la orden del día, las ventas de drogas, los homicidios, donde muchos terminan muertos o en la cárcel, por la cual Eugene trata de hacer la diferencia. Muchas veces el camino no es fácil, por más que uno quiere ayudar, pasan diferentes cosas que marcan nuestras vidas.

Eugene is a person who was sorry for how he had led his life, for the time he lost in pressure, even where he could not share with his children, he lost valuable time that cannot be recovered. But Eugene never gave up, he did everything possible to establish a new relationship with his children, get a job, although when he found out about his raisin, life reminds him again of his mistakes. A very raw plot, but at the same time it can inspire us not to do the wrong thing and if we make mistakes, then fight to change things and become a good person again, as is the case of Eugene Brown, who helped others.

Como personas siempre debemos ser responsables de los actos que cometemos, ya que la vida siempre tratará de recordarnos. Eugene es una persona que estaba arrepentido por como había llevado su vida, por el tiempo que perdió en presión, incluso donde no pudo compartir con sus hijos, perdió un tiempo muy valioso que no se puede recuperar. Pero Eugene nunca se rindió, hizo todo lo posible para establecer una nueva relación con sus hijos, conseguir un empleo, aunque al enterarse de su pasa, la vida le recuerda nuevamente de sus errores cometidos. Una trama muy cruda, pero a la vez que nos puede inspirar a no hacer lo malo y de cometer errores, pues luchar por cambiar las cosas y volver a ser una persona de bien, como es el caso de Eugene Brown quien ayudó a otros.

The life of a king is a great story that is worth watching from beginning to end, it has no waste. In one hour and forty minutes we are told a story to help people who have gone through this process to continue fighting to integrate back into society and young people not to make mistakes that can ruin their lives forever.

Eugene en prisión apreció todo sobre el ajedrez, por lo cual decidió enseñarles a los jóvenes para que estos tuvieran una mejor oportunidad en la vida y alejarlo de los vicios y los delitos que los podrían llevar a lo que él vivió. La vida de un rey es una gran historia que vale la pena ver de principio a fin, no tiene ningún desperdicio. En una hora y cuarenta minutos nos cuentan de una historia para ayudar a las personas que han pasado por este proceso a continuar luchando por integrarse nuevamente a la sociedad y los jóvenes a no cometer errores que puedan arruinar sus vidas para siempre.

Cuba Gooding Jr. played Eugene, doing a magnificent job in his role, undoubtedly the best of the film. I also liked Malcolm Mays as Tahime who is a young man with a lot of talent for the sport of science (chess), even without much experience he can achieve things that others can't and with Eugene's help he was able to get out of the darkness in which he found himself. Overall, the cast of Life of a King is really satisfying, with great performances that further enhance the film and the story being told, because we have numerous performances.

Cuba Gooding Jr. interpretó a Eugene, haciendo un magnífico trabajo en su papel, sin lugar a dudas de lo mejor del filme. Quien también me gusto su actuación fue Malcolm Mays como Tahime quien es un joven como mucho talento para el deporte ciencia (ajedrez), incluso sin mucha experiencia puede lograr cosas que otros no y con la ayuda de Eugene lograr salir de la oscuridad en la cual se encontraba. En general, el reparto de Life of a King es realmente satisfactorio, con grandes actuaciones que incrementan aún más el filme y la historia que se está relatando, debido a que disponemos de numerosas actuaciones.

Regarding the work of director Jake Goldberger I can tell you that I can show very well the story that I wanted to make known, it is a touching and authentic representation where the filmmaker does a magnificent job. The script I feel that many moments have their little details, but nothing that has ruined my experience, I stay more with the story, in that we all have the opportunity to change our lives and if we make mistakes, we have to assume and continue. The cinematography of the film is great, Mark Schwartzbard stood out and quite a lot, at least that's my personal opinion. As for the soundtrack, I think it was correct, nothing more to say.

En lo que respecto al trabajo del director Jake Goldberger les puedo decir que puedo mostrar muy bien la historia que se quería dar a conocer, es una representación conmovedora y auténtica donde el cineasta lograr hacen un magnífico trabajo. El guion siento que muchos momentos tiene sus detallitos, pero nada que haya arruinado mi experiencia, me queda más con la historia, en que todos tenemos la oportunidad de cambiar nuestras vidas y si cometemos errores, pues nos toca asumir y continuar. La fotografía del filme es genial, Mark Schwartzbard se destacó y bastante, al menos es mi opinión personal. En lo que respecta a la banda sonora, pienso que estuvo correcto, nada más que decir.

Life of a King is a great movie, with a story that is based on real events, plots that I always like to see, because they leave us great messages that can help many people. A touching story of self-improvement, where the main character helps others so that they do not fall into the same mistakes he did. As I have mentioned on several occasions, a great story that has no waste and is worth watching, with great performances and much more. Do I recommend it? Obviously, yes, if you haven't seen it, I invite you to do so, I'm sure you won't regret it.

Life of a King es una gran película, con una historia que es basada en hechos reales, tramas que siempre me gustan ver, ya que nos dejan grandes mensajes que pueden ayudar a muchas personas. Una historia conmovedora y de superación personal, donde además el personaje principal ayuda a otros para que estos no caigan en los mismos errores que él. Como les he mencionado en varias oportunidades, una gran historia que no tiene ningún desperdicio y vale la pena ver, con grandes actuaciones y mucho más. ¿La recomiendo? Obviamente, sí, si no las visto, te invito hacerlo que estoy seguro de que no te arrepentirás.
