Yesterday I watched a 2016 movie, directed by Clint Eastwood, called Sully, Hudson River. Before commenting on what the story is about, it is important to mention that it is based on real events, adapted from the book by Chelsey Sullenberg and Jeffrey Zaslow under the same name. This production has a running time of 96 minutes, the same as saying that 1 hour and 36 minutes, where we will find a great production, full of drama and heroism. Sully was scripted by Todd Komarnicki.

El día de ayer me vi una película del año 2016, dirigida por Clint Eastwood, que tiene por nombre Sully, hazaña en el Hudson. Antes de comentar que trata la historia es importante mencionar que está basada en hechos reales, adaptada del libro de Chelsey Sullenberg y Jeffrey Zaslow bajo el mismo nombre. Esta producción tiene una duración de 96 minutos, lo mismo que decir que 1 hora y 36 minutos, donde nos encontraremos con una gran producción, lleno de drama y heroísmo. El guion de Sully estuvo a cargo de Todd Komarnicki.

The plot of the story tells us how Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, a commercial airplane pilot, did something never seen before. After leaving the airport, the aircraft, which Sully was piloting, had some mechanical failures after colliding with some birds, having to make an emergency landing. The incredible thing was that he made the landing on the Hudson River in New York City, being the first pilot to do so, for which he was considered a hero. However, one of the central dramas is that after doing the feat, the airline and something that the air safety association, proceeded with the investigation of the two pilots of the plane (the 1549), including Captain Sully and co-pilot Scully, Jeff Skiles.

La trama de la historia nos cuenta como Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, un piloto de aviones de vuelos comerciales, realizó algo nunca antes visto. Tras la salida del aeropuerto, la aeronave, que estaba pilotando Sully, tuvo unos fallos mecánicos tras chocar con unas aves, teniendo que realizar un aterrizaje de emergencia. Lo increíble de todo fue que realizo el aterrizaje en el río Hudson de la ciudad de Nueva York, siendo el primer piloto en hacerlo, por lo cual fue considerado como un héroe. Sin embargo, uno de los dramas centrales es que luego de hacer la hazaña, la aerolínea y algo que la asociación de seguridad aérea, procedió con la investigación de los dos pilotos del avión (el 1549), entre ellos en capitán Sully el copiloto Scully, Jeff Skiles.

It is impressive to see how after the heroism of the pilot (Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger) and his co-pilot, they were investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which is a U.S. government agency in charge of investigating airplane crashes and others. The reality is that the NTSB did a bad job, because Sully did a great job, where everyone on board managed to survive, all 155 passengers and crew of the airline. The loss was only material, the plane went down and for the loss of money it was necessary to investigate if the pilots really complied with the protocol and if they did their job well.

Es impresionante ver como luego del heroísmo del piloto (Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger) y su copiloto, los mismos fueron investigados por la Junta Nacional de Seguridad en el Transporte (NTSB) quienes es como una agencia del gobierno de los Estados Unidos que se encarga de investigar los accidentes aéreos y otras más. La realidad es que este organismo quedó mal parada, pues Sully realizó un gran trabajo, donde todos los que estaban abordo lograron sobrevivir, los 155 entre pasajeros y la tripulación de la aerolínea. La perdida fue solo material, el avión se hundió y por la perdida en dinero sequizo investigar si realmente los pilotos cumplieron con el protocolo y si realizaron bien su trabajo.

Sully was a very experienced pilot, who from the first moment was interested in helping people, to see how many survived, which happily for him, were all those who were on board, so from the first moment he was considered a hero by the people. However, the NTSB and some media questioned whether the pilot did the right thing, when the most important thing I think is that everyone got out alive in what could have been a tragedy and was simply an anecdote and for many as something never seen before. Sully was a great pilot; however, in the film we doubt if he really did the right thing and had the opportunity to land on an airstrip. The film also shows us the doubts that pilots may have after these events and the trauma they may have. It is something that is overcome little by little and with the passing of time.

Sully eran un piloto con gran experiencia, que desde el primer momento estaba interesado en ayudar a las personas, de ver cuanto fueron los que sobrevivieron, que alegremente para él, fueron todos los que estaban abordo, por lo cual desde el primer momento fue considerado como un héroe por las personas. Sin embargo, la NTSB y algunos medios de comunicación ponían en dudas que si el piloto realizó lo correcto, cuando lo más importante creo que es que todos salieron con vida en lo que pudo ser una tragedia y quedó simplemente con una anécdota y para muchos como algo jamás visto. Sully era un gran piloto; sin embargo, en la película dudamos que si realmente hizo lo que debía y tuvo la oportunidad de aterrizar en una pista aérea. También la película nos muestra las dudas que pueden tener los pilotos después de estos hechos y el trauma que pueden llegar a tener. Es algo que se supera poco a poco y con el pasar del tiempo.

The plot of the film seems to me to be as simple as possible for the viewer, but without any waste from beginning to end. It is a great movie that in just one hour and thirty-five minutes came to show what was the milestone made by Sully and his companion, plus all that was the rescue of the people from the Hudson River. The scenes of the incident and landing was represented as a memory of Captain Sully, after remembering the incident and having doubts after the NTSB investigation. A film that was very well made, with great shots that we can appreciate, with a very well written script, with quite entertaining dialogues, full of emotion and many feelings in most of the cases, especially in the landing and rescue.

La trama de la película me parece lo más sencilla posible para el espectador, pero sin ningún desperdicio de principio a fin. Es una gran película que en tan solo una hora y treinta y cinco minutos llegó a mostrar lo que fue el hito realizado por Sully y su compañero, además de todo lo que fue el rescate de las personas del río Hudson. Las escenas del incidente y aterrizaje fue representado como un recuerdo del capitán Sully, luego de recordar el incidente y tener las dudas tras la investigación de NTSB. Una película que fue muy bien realizada, con grandes tomas que podemos apreciar, con un guion muy bien escrito, con unos diálogos bastante entretenidos, llenos de emoción y muchos sentimientos en la mayor parte de los casos, sobre todo en el aterrizaje y el rescate.

As far as the cast is concerned, I can tell you that Sully was played by Tom Hanks and the co-pilot by Aaron Eckhart. Tom did a great job with his character, undoubtedly a great performance and one of the best of the film, without leaving aside Eckhart who also excelled in his character. In general, I loved the performances of this film, both of the main characters of the story, as well as the secondary ones, with quite natural scenes, being the best part of the flight, the actions of the pilots and what the passengers and crew experienced. The film demonstrated the importance of teamwork and the faith that one must have in these moments.

En lo que al cast respecta, les puedo decir que Sully fue interpretado por Tom Hanks y el copiloto por Aaron Eckhart. Tom realizó un gran trabajo con su personaje, sin lugar a dudas una gran actuación y de lo mejor del filme, sin dejar a un lado a Eckart quien también destacó en su personaje. En general las actuaciones de esta película me encantaron, tanto de los personajes más principales de la historia, como de los secundarios, con escenas bastante naturales, siendo de lo mejor la parte del vuelo, el accionar de los pilotos y lo que vivieron los pasajeros y la tripulación. En la película quedó demostrada la importancia del trabajo en equipo y la fe que hay que tener en estos momentos.

The photography was very good, everything was represented. The scenery, the plane, the flight and landing and everything else shown in the story, so we must highlight the work of the entire team of the film Sully and especially Clint Eastwood filmmaker where the director managed to recreate a great story from the real facts and the free written by Captain Sully and Jeffrey Zaslow (co-pilot). The film's soundtrack did its job, but it was not at all flashy, as the film focused more on the facts and the great story it wanted to present. However, the music was quite touching and with the great scenes, it can bring tears to our eyes.

La fotografía estuvo muy bien, todo representada. Los escenarios, el avión, el vuelo y el aterrizaje y todo lo demás que se muestra en la historia, por lo que hay que destacar la labor de todo el equipo de la película Sully y sobre todo de cineasta Clint Eastwood donde el director lograr recrear una gran historia a partir de los hechos reales y del libre escrito por el Capitán Sully y Jeffrey Zaslow (copiloto). La banda de sonora de la película cumplió con su cometido, pero para nada fue llamativa, ya que la película que se centró en más en los hechos y la gran historia que se quería presentar. Sin embargo, la música fue bastante conmovedora y con las grandes escenas, nos puede sacar las lágrimas.

Sully, the feat on the Hudson is a great movie with a story based on true events, very touching and striking, with a great performance by Hanks as the hero captain of the landing that had never been achieved, a fact that was marked in everyone, both those who were on the flight, the people who saw them and the whole world. A film that leaves us things to analyze. The film has a great cast, a direction that knew how to hit the nail on the head with what he wanted to show of these facts, a magnificent photography and a soundtrack that complied and did not overshadow what was really important, which was the story of Sully and how they were shown. A natural film and that is what is most appreciated. For me it is a 10/10, a story that if you have not seen, you have to do it, because I recommend it 200%.

Sully, la hazaña en el Hudson es una gran película con una historia basada en hechos reales, muy conmovedora y llamativa, con una gran actuación de Hanks como el capitán héroe del aterrizaje que jamás se había logrado, un hecho que quedó marcada en todos, tanto los que estuvieron en el vuelo, las personas que los vieron y el mundo entero. Una película que nos deja cosas para analizar. El filme posee un gran cast, una dirección que supo dar en el clavo con lo que quería mostrar de estos hechos, una magnífica fotografía y una banda sonora que cumplió y no eclipso en lo realmente importante, que era la historia de Sully y como estos se mostraron. Una película natural y es lo que más se agradece. Para mí es un 10/10, una historia que si no has visto, lo tiene que hacer, pues la recomiendo al 200%.
