Tolkien [ENG-ESP]

Friends of the Movies & TV Shows community, I hope you are well. These days I saw three interesting movies and today I want to tell you my opinion about one of them. The film is called Tolkien, a biographical production that tells us about the beginnings of John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (J. R. R. Tolkien), a famous writer of fantasy novels. At first I did not have many expectations about this film, but being based on real events and that it was about the beginnings of the creator of the novels of “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit”, which were also taken to the big screen and with great success, especially the first one, which is one of my favorite sagas.

Amigos de la comunidad Movies & TV Shows, espero que esten bien. En estos días vi tres películas interesantes y el día de hoy les quiero comentar mi opinión sobre una de ellas. El filme se llama Tolkien, una producción biográfica que nos comenta los inicio de John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (J. R. R. Tolkien), un afamado escritor de novelas de fantasía. En un principio no tenía muchas expectativas sobre esta película, pero al ser basada en hechos reales y que se trataba sobre los inicios del creador de las novelas de “El Señor de los Anillos” y “El Hobbit”, la cual también fueron llevadas a la pantalla grande y con un gran éxito, sobre todo de la primera que es una de mis sagas favoritas.

The film begins with Tolkien as a child who had to move with his mother and brother, where after a while they were orphaned. At a time when things were complicated, he was received by a wealthy lady. There is where he meets those who became his best friends, both in childhood and in adulthood. The plot of this movie is interesting, since it shows us how this famous writer was inspired by everything that happened in his life to create one of the most famous literary works in the world, such as “The Lord of the Rings”. I loved the plot of the movie.

La película comienza con Tolkien como es un niño quien se tuvo que mudar junto a su mamá con su hermano, donde luego de un tiempo quedaron huérfanos, En una época donde las cosas estaban complicadas, fue recibido por una dama adinerada. Allí es donde conoce a los que llegaron a ser sus mejores amigos, tanto en la infancia, como en la adultez. La trama de esta película es interesante, ya que nos muestra como esté afamado escritor se inspiró con todo lo que pasó en su vida para crear una de las obras literarias más famosas del mundo, como es “El señor de los anillos”. La trama de la película me encantó.

The film begins with a few scenes and Tolkien in World War I, where he begins to remember his childhood, as his mother told him fantasy stories in a rather peculiar way that comes to catch the viewers. He also meets a group of friends at school, which formed a community, in addition to meeting the love of his life. The film shows us the most important details of Tolkien, both good and bad things and how these served as inspiration for the books he wrote later. This writer was so impressive that he even invented a language, which if I am not mistaken was the one he used for his books.

La película comienza con unas escenas y Tolkien en la Primera Guerra Mundial, donde este empieza a recordar su infancia, como su madre le contaba historia de fantasía de una forma bastante peculiar que llega atrapar a los espectadores. También conoce a un grupo amigo en la escuela, la cual formaron una comunidad, además de conocer el amor de su vida. La película nos muestra los detalles más importantes de Tolkien, tanto cosas buenas como malas y como estas les sirvieron de inspiración para los libros que escribió posteriormente. Este escritor era tan impresionante que incluso inventó un idioma, que si no estoy mal fue las que uso para sus libros.

Finger to say that before the saga of “The Lord of the Rings” and its three movies I did not know of this author, I even got to read more after the series that is currently airing of the Rings of Power. It is good to know the story of a boy who did not have an easy childhood in a time where people were driven by social status. A story and a main character that undoubtedly left its mark on many people and that for these times can be of much inspiration. A film of almost two hours, that I can tell you that I was left with the desire to continue watching more.

Dedo decir que antes de la saga de "El señor de los anillos" y sus tres películas no conocía de este autor, incluso llegué a leer más tras la serie que se está emitiendo actualmente de los Anillos de poder. Es bueno conocer la historia de un chico quien no tuvo una infancia fácil en unos tiempos donde las personas se dejaban llevar por el estatus social. Una historia y un personaje principal que sin lugar a dudas dejó su huella en muchas personas y que para estos tiempos pueden ser de mucha inspiración. Una película de casi dos horas, que les puedo decir que me quedé con las ganas de seguir viendo más.

The cast of Tolkien is very good, really the work of each of the actors and actresses was surprising, where Nicholas Hoult was who gave life to Tolkien as an adult when he went to college and participated in World War I where they lived the horrors that many of us know after the stories we have read and seen in documentaries. Lily Collins played the character of Edith Bratt, the love of Tolkien's life and who became his wife for life, with whom he had four children, as mentioned in the production. Tom Glynn-Carney, Anthony Boyle and Patrick Gibson, are the actors who played Tolkien's friends when he grew up, each with a different personality, but who in the end formed a great brotherhood and community among them. We also have the cast of boys, an exceptional job by the production and director in selecting the cast.

El reparto de Tolkien es muy bueno, realmente el trabajo de cada uno de los actores y actrices se sorprendió, donde Nicholas Hoult fue quien le dio vida a Tolkien de más adulto cuando fue la universidad y participó en la Primera Guerra Mundial donde vivieron los horrores que muchos conocemos tras las historias que hemos leído y vistos en documentales. Lily Collins hizo del personaje de Edith Bratt, el amor de la vida de Tolkien y quien llegó a ser su esposa para toda la vida, con la cual llegó a tener cuatro hijos, como se menciona en la producción. Tom Glynn-Carney, Anthony Boyle y Patrick Gibson, son los actores que interpretaron a los amigos de Tolkien de grandes, cada uno con una personalidad distintas, pero que al final formaron una gran hermandad y comunidad entre ellos. También tenemos el reparto de chicos, un trabajo excepcional de la producción y el director para la selección del reparto.

The direction of the film was in charge of Dome Karukoski, who from my point of view did a great job, along with screenwriters David Gleeson and Stephen Beresford, with a well told story and that has no waste in each of the dialogues, since they give us to understand each of the things from which Tolkien was inspired to form a very successful career. In the film we see shots that are really good, that is where the hand of direction is seen. The cinematography is a plus for the film, as well as each of the really beautiful scenery, the forests and each one with reference to the world of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The same goes for the visual effects, all very well worked, taking care of every detail of the time. Another point in favor of the film is the soundtrack, where it has a touch of fantasy that reminds me a lot of the Lord of the Rings. We have background music in the different scenes and moments.

La dirección de la película estuvo a cargo de Dome Karukoski, quien desde mi punto de vista hizo un gran trabajo, junto a los guionistas David Gleeson y Stephen Beresford, con una historia bien contada y que no tiene desperdicio en cada uno de los diálogos, puesto que nos dan a entender cada una de las cosas de la cual Tolkien se inspiró para formar una carrera muy exitosa. En la película vemos tomas que son realmente buenas, allí es donde se ve la mano de la dirección. La fotografía es un punto a favor de la película, al igual que cada uno de los escenarios realmente bonitos, los bosques y cada uno con referencia al mundo del Hobbit y El Señor de los Anillos. Lo mismo pasa con los efectos visuales, todo muy bien trabajado, cuidando cada uno de los detalles de la época. Otro punto a favor de la película es la banda sonora, donde tiene un toque de fantasía que me hace recordar mucho al señor de los anillos. Tenemos músicas de fondo en las diferentes escenas y momentos.

Tolkien is a great movie, which tells us about the life of the creator of “The Lord of the Rings” and how he was inspired to write the books which were very successful in Tolkien's time and also nowadays. The plot is really good, I don't find any waste as I mentioned before. It has excellent photography, scenery and soundtrack. I am 100% recommending this film, I am sure you will love it and enjoy it a lot. I give the movie a 10/10.

Tolkien es una gran película, que nos cuenta la vida del creador de “El Señor de los Anillos” y como se inspiró para escribir los libros quien tuvieron mucho éxito en la época de Tolkien y también en estos tiempos. La trama es realmente buena, no lo encuentro ningún desperdicio tal cual les mencioné anterior. Tiene excelente fotografía, escenarios y banda sonora. Les comiendo al 100% este filme, estoy seguro de que les va a encantar y disfrutar mucho. Le doy un 10/10 a la película.
