Última serie del año: El verano en que me enamoré || Last series of the year: The Summer I Fell in Love

Amigos de la comunidad, Movies & TV Shows y la plataforma de #hive en general, primeramente quiero desearles a todo un excelente día y que reciban este nuevo año 2024 de la mejor manera posible junto a sus seres queridos, que el nuevo año esté lleno de mucha prosperidad y éxitos, y que todos sus deseos se les cumplan. Un placer compartir mi último post del 2023 en esta maravilloso nicho donde he compartido muchos contendidos a lo largo del año. Que mejor de hablar de la última serie que vi.

Buscando que ver en estos últimos días del 2023, en estas vacaciones por la navidad, me encontré con una serie que ya había visto en la cartelera de la plataforma Prime Video, pero al leer la trama no me animé, este tipo de producciones me desagradan un poco, los triángulos amorosos y cuando se involucra a la familia. Pero, al ver que la misma era de drama y romance juvenil, unos de mis géneros favoritos del mundo del entretenimiento, pues decidí darle una oportunidad y hoy les voy a dar mi opinión sobre El verano en que me enamoré.

Esta serie salió en 2022, ya con dos temporadas emitidas, y la tercera está pendiente, donde finalmente se definirá esta historia. La primera temporada (2022) tiene un total de 7 capítulos, mientras que la segunda (2023) posee uno más. La tercera temporada (Se espera en 2024) donde se espera el desenlace, tendrá un total de 10 capítulos. El verano en que me enamoré es una adaptación de la obra literaria de Jenny Han, quien con un equipo formado por Erica Dunton, Jeff Chan y Jesse Peretz son los que han dirigido esta serie de TV. La creadora también obviamente participó en el guion, junto a Marty Scott, Deborah Swisher y Becca Gleason. Un gran equipo de trabajo, que creo que en general hicieron un buen trabajo, al menos en la primera temporada.

Trama

La trama de la serie El verano en que me enamoré, trata sobre un triángulo amoroso entre una chica y dos hermanos, que se conocían desde pequeños debido a que sus madres eran muy amigos. La joven se llama Isabel "Belly" Conklin, quien desde un principio estuvo profundamente enamorada de Conrad Fisher, pero por diversas razones el hermano de Conrad entra en la ecuación. No quisiera comentar mucho de la trama para no adelantar nada si no la han visto, pero a veces para hacer una crítica real y objetiva es necesario contar cosas, aunque a tratar de no darles nada de pista de la historia principal.

A pleasure to share my last post of 2023 in this wonderful niche where I have shared many contents throughout the year. What better to talk about the last series I watched.


Looking for what to watch in these last days of 2023, in these vacations for Christmas, I came across a series that I had already seen on the billboard of the Prime Video platform, but when I read the plot I was not encouraged, this type of productions I dislike a little, love triangles and when family is involved. But, seeing that it was a drama and teen romance, one of my favorite genres in the entertainment world, I decided to give it a chance and today I will give you my opinion about The summer I fell in love.


This series came out in 2022, with two seasons already aired, and the third season is pending, where this story will finally be defined. The first season (2022) has a total of 7 chapters, while the second (2023) has one more. The third season (expected in 2024) where the denouement is expected, will have a total of 10 chapters. The Summer I Fell in Love is an adaptation of the literary work of Jenny Han, who with a team formed by Erica Dunton, Jeff Chan and Jesse Peretz are the ones who have directed this TV series. The creator also obviously participated in the script, along with Marty Scott, Deborah Swisher and Becca Gleason. A great working team, who I think overall did a good job, at least in the first season.


Plot


The plot of the series The Summer I Fell in Love, is about a love triangle between a girl and two brothers, who knew each other since they were little because their mothers were close friends. The girl's name is Isabel "Belly" Conklin, who from the beginning was deeply in love with Conrad Fisher, but for various reasons Conrad's brother enters the equation. I don't want to comment much on the plot so as not to give anything away if you haven't seen it, but sometimes to make a real and objective review it is necessary to tell things, although I try not to give you any clues to the main story.

La trama de la primera temporada trata principalmente a que la familia de los protagonistas se reúnen en el verano en la casa de la playa, como estos tenían la costumbre. Belly sentía algo muy profundo por Conrad, pero algunas actitudes de este eran poco entendible, pero a medida que la trama avanza se va entendiendo más las cosas. Ciertamente, Belly es una chica insegura, realmente no sabe lo que quiere para su vida y es la percepción que tengo al ver la serie, pero también se que es normal que esto nos suceda en la adolescencia, por lo cual lo veo normal, una trama que puede ser cliché, pero en lo personal me gusta, es muy atractiva para mí.

La serie en la primera temporada llamó toda mi atención, me pareció bastante buena y quería ver cómo terminaba esta historia. ¿Cuál sería la decisión final que tomaría Belly? Si se quedaría con Conrad o Jeremiah, dos chicos con grandes cualidades, pero ella debe decidir de acuerdo a lo que quiere. Al final se terminó dando lo que me imaginaba, pero al ver la serie les debo confesar que era lo que quería, así que quede contento con todo, a pesar de que vuelvo y mencionó, la prota era un poco insegura, hizo cosas que a varios no les agradaría, razón por la cual muchos criticarían la serie. La toxicidad está presente, pero no como en otras películas o series que he visto, al menos fue mi percepción.

La segunda temporada comenzó bastante bien, con una Belly muy destrozada porque las cosas no se dieron como ella quería, además de la obvia enemistad que quedaría entre estos amigos. Pero me dije, sé que la serie tomará un gran final, incluso pensé que era la última temporada, pero al saber que la habría una tercera, pues me dijo aquí no puede terminar todo como uno quiere y eso fue lo que finalmente sucedió, un final que en lo personal me disgustó, pero muchos también estarán de acuerdo, todo depende si somos equipo Conrad o Jeremiah. Pero lo que más me disgustó no es el final de la segunda temporada, sino de como es Belly, sigue siendo muy insegura, es una joven muy cambiante, pero al final todos fuimos jóvenes y sabemos que esto puede suceder, pero la actitud de la joven en ocasiones me parece un poco repugnante, la razón no se las voy a contar por qué no quiero adelantar nada.

The plot of the first season is mainly about the main characters' family getting together in the summer at the beach house, as they used to do. Belly felt something very deep for Conrad, but some of his attitudes were difficult to understand, but as the plot progresses, things become clearer. Certainly, Belly is an insecure girl, she really does not know what she wants for her life and that is the perception I have when watching the series, but I also know that it is normal that this happens to us in adolescence, so I see it as normal, a plot that can be cliché, but personally I like it, it is very attractive to me.


The series in the first season caught all my attention, I thought it was pretty good and I wanted to see how this story ended. What would be the final decision Belly would make? If she would stay with Conrad or Jeremiah, two boys with great qualities, but she must decide according to what she wants. In the end it ended up being what I imagined, but watching the series I must confess that it was what I wanted, so I was happy with everything, although I return and mentioned, the prota was a little insecure, she did things that many would not like, which is why many would criticize the series. Toxicity is present, but not like in other movies or series I have seen, at least it was my perception.


The second season started off pretty well, with a very broken Belly because things didn't turn out the way she wanted them to, plus the obvious enmity that would remain between these friends. But I said to myself, I know that the series will take a great ending, I even thought it was the last season, but knowing that there would be a third, I said to myself that everything can not end as you want and that's what finally happened, an ending that I personally disliked, but many will also agree, it all depends on whether we are team Conrad or Jeremiah. But what I disliked the most is not the end of the second season, but how Belly is, she is still very insecure, she is a very changeable young woman, but in the end we were all young and we know that this can happen, but the attitude of the young woman sometimes seems to me a little disgusting, the reason I will not tell you why I do not want to advance anything.

Ahora bien, es momento de hablarles del reparto. Belly fue interpretada por Lola Tung, mientras que al personaje Conrad le dio vida Christopher Briney y a Jeremiah fue Gavin Casalegno. También tenemos a Sean Kaufman quien era Steven, el hermano mayor de Belly. Por otro lado, la actriz Jackie Chung fue Laurel, la mamá de Isabel y por último entre los personajes principales tenemos a Susannah Fisher, madre de los protagonistas de esta historia. También tenemos otros personajes que juegan un papel importante en la serie de televisión y quienes fueron interpretados muy bien. El cast fue muy bueno, a pesar de que no conocía a ninguno antes de El verano en que me enamoré, pero igual cada una de las escenas para mí fueron creíbles, conecte con sus papeles, aunque más con unos que con otros, pero eso es normal.

La dirección de la serie y producción en general esta bastante bien, la adaptación esta bien hecho y más tomando en cuenta que Jenny Han esta tomando muchas decisiones dentro de la serie. La fotografía estaba a cargo de J.B. Smith, haciendo un maravilloso trabajo con los escenarios, unos lugares maravillosos que valen la pena ver, como la casa de la playa de Cousins que es donde se desarrolla la mayor parte de la trama. La música estuvo a cargo de Zachary Dawes, este apartado fue correcto, no me destacó tanto, pero quiere decir que esto mal, simplemente no es de los mejor de la serie.

Opinión Final

En general, la serie El verano en que me enamoré es una buena producción, muy bien hecha, pero allí es donde nos damos cuenta de que está la mano de la creadora de la obra, Jenny Han. La trama me parece excelente, captó toda mi atención, aunque algunas acciones de la prota me disgustaron, tanto así que no terminé de ver los últimos dos capítulos de la segunda temporada jaja, pero más que todo es una opinión personal y luego voy a ver los episodios que me faltaron, para terminar de ver como culmina la historia, que nos puede traer muchas sorpresas y que Han menciona que el final de la serie, puede ser muy distinta a los libros, así que nos podemos esperar cualquier cosa, esperemos que no arruinen este escrito, que nos enseña que no todo es bonito, un ser humano puede pasar por muchas cosas, incluso podemos aprender de ese primer amor, ya sea para bien o no. ¿Les recomiendo la serie? Pues si les gusta la series de romance y drama juvenil, pues esta producción es la ideal y pienso que no te la debes perder.

Now, it's time to tell you about the cast. Belly was played by Lola Tung, while the character Conrad was brought to life by Christopher Briney and Jeremiah was played by Gavin Casalegno. We also have Sean Kaufman who was Steven, Belly's older brother. On the other hand, actress Jackie Chung was Laurel, Isabel's mom and finally among the main characters we have Susannah Fisher, mother of the main characters of this story. We also have other characters that play an important role in the TV series and who were played very well. The cast was very good, even though I did not know any of them before The Summer I Fell in Love, but still each of the scenes for me were believable, I connected with their roles, although more with some than with others, but that is normal.


The direction of the series and production in general is quite good, the adaptation is well done and more taking into account that Jenny Han is making many decisions within the series. The photography was in charge of J.B. Smith, doing a wonderful job with the scenery, some wonderful places that are worth seeing, like the Cousins beach house which is where most of the plot develops. The music was in charge of Zachary Dawes, this section was correct, it did not stand out to me so much, but it means that this bad, it is simply not one of the best of the series.


Final Opinion


In general, the series The Summer I Fell in Love is a good production, very well done, but that's where we realize that the hand of the creator of the show, Jenny Han, is there. The plot seems excellent to me, it captured all my attention, although some actions of the prota displeased me, so much so that I did not finish watching the last two chapters of the second season haha, but mostly it is a personal opinion and then I will watch the episodes that I missed, to finish seeing how the story culminates, which can bring us many surprises and Han mentions that the end of the series, can be very different from the books, so we can expect anything, hopefully not ruin this writing, which teaches us that not everything is beautiful, a human being can go through many things, we can even learn from that first love, whether for good or not. Do I recommend the series? Well, if you like romance and youth drama series, this production is ideal and I think you should not miss it.
