Hola amantes del cine en hive, espero esté muy bien el día de hoy, decidí darle una oportunidad a las películas rom-com de esas que nos derriten de amor y nos divierten muchísimo al estilo de las películas románticas como mujer bonita (1990), la propuesta (2009) o como si fuera cierto (2005) y me encontré con esta joyita de película que sin duda se convirtió en una de mis favoritas de este género por lo divertida y dulce que fue. Hello movie lovers in hive, I hope you are very well today, I decided to give a chance to rom-com movies of those that melt us with love and we have a lot of fun in the style of romantic movies like Pretty Woman (1990), The Proposal (2009) or Just Like Heaven (2005) and I found this gem of a movie that certainly became one of my favorites of this genre for how much fun and sweet it was. Hablemos un poco sobre lo que va ésta película. Rebecca Bloomwood es una periodista la cuál tiene un pequeño secreto no tan secreto, ama comprar, pero no cualquier cosa, ella ama comprar ropa, conoce todas las marcas, los estilos y estampados que existen y cada que pasa por una tienda es imposible que salga con las manos vacías, esto se va convirtiendo en un problema debido a que debe mucho dinero por sus tarjetas de crédito y sus compras "necesarias" y sumándole más drama al asunto en la revista de hogar en la que estaba trabajando caen en quiebra y despiden a todo el personal lo que hace que Rebecca, quien vive con su mejor amiga, decida dar un importante paso para su carrera (y para poder conseguir dinero y pagar sus deudas) y escribe dos cartas para postularse en dos revistas, una de ellas es la revista de moda más famosa en el país y la otra una sosa revista sobre finanzas, sin embargo, para su mala suerte sus cartas se confunden y termina trabajando en la revista de finanzas haciendo que poco a poco vaya relacionandose más con su jefe y se vaya creando un más allá de empleada algo descuidada y sin miedo y jefe serio y apasionado por su trabajo.

Rebecca Bloomwood is a journalist who has a little secret not so secret, she loves shopping, but not just anything, she loves to buy clothes, she knows all the brands, styles and prints that exist and every time she passes by a store it is impossible to leave empty handed, this is becoming a problem because she owes a lot of money for her credit cards and her "necessary" purchases and adding more drama to the matter in the home magazine in which she was working they go bankrupt and they fire all the staff which makes Rebecca, who lives with her best friend, decides to take an important step for her career (and to be able to get money and pay her debts) and writes two letters to apply in two magazines, one of them is the most famous fashion magazine in the country and the other a bland magazine about finance, however, to her bad luck her letters get mixed up and she ends up working in the finance magazine making her gradually get closer to her boss and creating a more beyond a somewhat careless and fearless employee and a serious and passionate boss for his work.

La película estadounidense con género comedia y romance fue estrenada en el 2009 y fue dirigida por P. J. Hogan y está basada en las dos primeras novelas con el mismo nombre escritas por Sophie Kinsella. Una comedia romántica que nos muestra la vida de una persona compra adicta y como buscan formas de mentir y continuar comprando para poder seguir llenando ese vacío, sin embargo, podemos ver como con un poco de ayuda de sus familiares y amigos más cercanos puede poco a poco salir de su adicción, luego de algunos eventos desafortunados en dónde ella misma se da cuenta de que debe cambiar si quiere conservar a sus amigos y a su reciente nuevo amor.

La película estrenada en el 2009 se encuentra disponible en la plataforma de Disney+ (Venezuela) y además se encuentra disponible en cualquier página de películas, se encuentra doblada al español y subtitulada. Su duración es de 1 horas y 45 minutos y tiene una clasificación PG para todo público.

Además de contar con una trama algo diferente a lo que estamos acostumbrados a ver en más películas de género comedia romántica podemos ver a un cast con grandes actores y actrices como los son Hugh Dancy en el papel de Luke Brandon, el jefe de Rebecca, Krysten Ritter interpretando a la amiga de Rebecca, Suze, además de las actuaciones de John Goodman, Joan Cusack, John Lithgow. Tengo que decir que mi principal razón para verla fue la participación de Hugh Dancy que después de ver la serie de Hannibal amé su forma de actuar así que decidí darle una oportunidad a esta película y fue una gran sorpresa ya que termine amando la película e incluso la vi dos veces más con mi hermana y mi mamá. Es una película muy de ese año podría decir, ya que muestra muchos elementos los cuales estaban en su pleno boom en ese año pero sobretodo porque el estilo de como se va desarrollando el romance y la relación entre nuestros protagonistas es fantástica, ambos tenían bastante química y su historia es bastante divertida y linda, la película no se siente pesada en el sentido de que el romance se queda estancado sino que todo lo contrario es construido poco a poco y podemos sentir como se va generando la química y el romance a medida que ambos interactúan, siempre hay esa tensión entre ambos y es algo que me hizo amarla aún más.

Besides having a plot somewhat different from what we are used to see in more romantic comedy movies we can see a cast with great actors and actresses such as Hugh Dancy in the role of Luke Brandon, Rebecca's boss, Krysten Ritter playing Rebecca's friend, Suze, in addition to the performances of John Goodman, Joan Cusack, John Lithgow. I have to say that my main reason to watch it was the participation of Hugh Dancy who after watching the Hannibal series I loved his acting so I decided to give this movie a chance and it was a great surprise as I ended up loving the movie and even watched it two more times with my sister and my mom. It is a movie very much of that year I could say, since it shows many elements which were in their full boom in that year but mostly because the style of how the romance and the relationship between our main characters is developing is fantastic, both had enough chemistry and their story is quite funny and cute, the movie doesn't feel heavy in the sense that the romance stays stagnant but on the contrary it is built little by little and we can feel how the chemistry and romance is being generated as both interact, there is always that tension between both and it is something that made me love it even more.

Otra cosa que me gusta es que no solo se centra en el romance de la protagonista y su interés amoroso sino que va más allá mostrando también la vida de su familia, los cuales son personas que siempre priorizaban la durabilidad y economía en lugar de el estilo y marcas, la vida de su amiga Suze la cual está a punto de casarse y se encuentra preocupada por el estilo de vida de su mejor amiga y por supuesto nuestra protagonista Rebecca la cuál desea avanzar en el mundo del periodismo y llegar a trabajar en una de las revistas mas famosas de moda y la cuál había sido su sueño desde pequeña pero también vemos como llega a participar en reuniones para compra adictos pero no las toma en serio hasta que su vida parece no tener remedio y decide darle la seriedad que se merece.

A pesar de que la forma en la que muestran el sentido de la moda de Rebecca me parece un poco extraña ya que algunas prendas de ropa que usa durante la película me parecen de lo más descabelladas y raras igual pienso que algunas cosas eran el estilo de ese tiempo y además es una parte importante para describir la personalidad de ella, una persona divertida, alocada, que no tiene miedo de hablar y de actuar a pesar de tener su problema con las compras, por un motivo bastante razonable la verdad, sigo viendo la película como súper entretenida y divertida, para pasar una tarde súper divertida.

Another thing I like is that it not only focuses on the romance of the protagonist and her love interest but goes beyond that by also showing the life of her family, who are people who always prioritized durability and economy over style and brands, the life of her friend Suze who is about to get married and is worried about her best friend's lifestyle and of course our protagonist Rebecca who wants to advance in the world of journalism and get to work in one of the most famous fashion magazines and which had been her dream since she was a child but we also see how she gets to participate in meetings for buying addicts but does not take them seriously until her life seems hopeless and decides to give it the seriousness it deserves.

Even though the way they show Rebecca's fashion sense seems a bit strange to me since some of the clothes she wears during the movie seem to me the most outlandish and weird I still think that some things were the style of that time and it is also an important part to describe her personality, a fun, crazy person, who is not afraid to speak and act despite having her problem with shopping, for a quite reasonable reason the truth, I still see the movie as super entertaining and fun, to spend a super fun afternoon.

Super recomiendo esta película, es una de esas películas para pasar una tarde sin enfocarse en una película con un tema muy cargado, es bastante divertida y la trama es fluida, no se siente pesada al verla y visualmente es bastante llamativa y atractiva. Como dije se volvió una de mis películas favoritas de el género de comedia romántica ya que todo me parece súper lindo, la trama es genial y el desarrollo de la historia es bastante fluido y tiene un final muy bueno aunque es un final abierto y libre a la imaginación del espectador 💗

I highly recommend this movie, it is one of those movies to spend an afternoon without focusing on a movie with a very loaded theme, it is quite funny and the plot is fluid, it doesn't feel heavy when watching it and visually it is quite striking and attractive. As I said it became one of my favorite movies of the romantic comedy genre since I find everything super cute, the plot is great and the development of the story is quite fluid and has a very good ending although it is an open ending and free to the imagination of the viewer 💗
