The Gray Man, An Explosive Movie

At first glance, I wasn't sure if it would be a good enough watch but what I didn't expect was this excellently amazing masterpiece, I was simply blown away, going into it. With a superb storyline, it had me hooked from start to finish.

In this fast paced action movie, a Senior CIA named "Donald Fitzroy" (played by Billy Bob Thornton) visits a man (played by Ryan Gosling) in prison who was convicted for murder. Donald offers the prisoner his freedom in exchange for an assignment—to work for him as a covert assassin in the CIA Sierra program. The prisoner agrees and he is given the code name "Sierra 6"

Years later, on a mission in Bangkok, Sierra 6 was given a task to take out a target who was suspected to be selling away national security secrets. During this mission, he discovered that he couldn't do it without harming civilians, so he decided to do it on his own by attacking the target directly. The target was wounded and before the target died, he revealed that he worked with the Sierra program as well but he himself was named "Sierra 4", and handed him a coin that contains an encrypted drive.

Sierra 6 contacts the Lead Agent, Denny Carmichael (Regé-Jean Page) but the lead agent refuses to tell him the real purpose of the assassination. This makes him doubt the whole purpose of the mission.

The lead agent feeling threatened hires a man named "LIoyd Hanson" (Chris Evans), a former CIA Agent that was kicked out because of his sociopathic tendencies, to track down Sierra 6 and retrieve the drive. Men were sent to sierra 6’s location but he was able to fight his way through and kill them all. Even a bounty was placed on sierra 6’s head.

Sierra 6 heads to Vienna to try to encrypt what is in the drive and discovers the lead Agent’s corruption.

The movie has very intense action which is a must for me when it comes to thriller movies, lots of shootouts, hand-to-hand combat. I particularly loved the showdown between Gentry and Hansen. Gentry outsmarts his pursuers and vanishes into the shadows.

I love the very striking visual style and the relentless pace of the movie. I also loved over the top performance of the actors, the entire cast were amazingly fantastic. It exceeded all my expectations to an immense level.

A very great movie and I will rate it a 9/10.
