The Emotional Resonance of "Lift Me Up" in Wakanda Forever
I don't think of myself as someone who breaks down emotions easily, at least I try to hold all emotions in even though it's rioting inside of me, but for the first time ever in my life, I cried while watching the movie Black Panther, Wakanda Forever, I couldn't explain how the loss of an actor even though I never knew him personally can have such a strong effect on me, affecting me deeply, mind you, this day was not the first time I heard about the passing of the Hero Black Panther Chadwick Boseman, May his soul rest in peace, but this was the first time I watched the movie after his passing, I never knew how powerful music is expressing the theme of a movie, in this case, grief and mourning, until I listened to "Lift me Up" by Rihanna as the sound track used in wakanda forever, you could feel the grief, I'm sure I'm not the only one that felt it, as the Wakandan people gathered to pay tribute to their hero, his passing was untimely.
It was expected for the movie to be sober, losing such an important character who acted as King T'Challa/Black Panther in the previous films, I learned the song was written as a tribute to the late actor and also to honor his legacy and Rihanna did justice to it with her powerful vocals you could feel the mourning, even now, listening to the music alone without the movie still gets me very emotional.
And it is not just the vocals, the lyrics also pass a strong message,
You could feel how the writers felt while composing it, or maybe we all feel the same way, the struggle to find meaning in the face of tragedy, **"Burn the sage, and I'll go, send my all to the great unknown." **Yet, there is also that sense of determination to carry on his legacy, in the line that said "Keep this memory for me" and "I'll always rise up.", personally, I've never found any soundtrack of a movie as powerful and emotionally relatable as "Lift Me Up"
I think what also set this music apart is the visuals presented to us during the moment the song first echoed, showing us the journey the hero played until his untimely loss, there was so much we could expect from him in the sequel but he was no more, so we had to feel that absence and also feel like his spirit was right there throughout the movie still representing, He lives on, I don't know how best to explain it but that was how I felt, more than anything, the movie left its viewers deeply moved and inspired.
Without any doubt, through this movie I can vividly see the importance of a good music in a movie, before now, I thought it was unnecessary, just remembering Titanic now, also gives me that same feeling, the music enhances the deep storytelling in a movie, and enhances the emotional impact of different scenes.
We can now conclude that the success of a movie can also be attributed to the music integrated with it, Wakanda Forever proved that same as Titanic, remember Celine Dion's song, How Can I Forget,
I now have a deep appreciation for movies that use music to enhance the story they tell and trust me, those kinds of movies are hardly forgotten because wherever you go and the music is played, your mind drifts back to the movie with its unique scene that stirred your emotions, and that's the power of integrating music and movies.
In the end, the lasting popularity of the "Lift Me Up" song as the Wakanda Forever soundtrack shows that music being a powerful tool of entertainment, and inspiration when it blends with a movie, enhances it the more especially the emotions of viewers leaving a lasting impression, it reminds us that great movies are not just for viewing pleasures, but awakens all our senses in the process, and any experiences that can touch our souls and leave an impressionable mark is worth it.

"Lift Me Up" in "Wakanda Forever" truly captures the emotional depth of loss and tribute. Rihanna's vocals and the poignant lyrics resonate deeply, making it a powerful soundtrack.
Yes, it did, her voice brilliantly delivered the emotions and the lyrics very deep and resonating.
Thanks for visiting.
Rihanna Voice !! Was interesting. But I feel like the wakanda movie needed more of a beat sound because Africans we are beat lovers. I love Rihanna, but this song is to o emotional for this movie. Imagine playing a slow love song for an adventure war Movie . It’s just weird !
It was that way because it was necessary for us to mourn the Hero that played Black Panther, more like paying a tribute to him, and I think it was perfect.we needed to mourn before moving into action.

This is one of the most captivating soundtrack I have ever heard in a movie.
