28 days (2000), by Betty Thomas
The film stars Sandra Bullock as a very successful journalist who likes to drink and have fun with her boyfriend and friends. The problem here is not that she drinks, the issue is that she does not know how to set limits to her behavior. However, when she hits rock bottom (at her sister's wedding), she will be forced to enter an out-of-town rehab clinic for a period of 28 days.

It is a film starring the great Leonardo DiCaprio, which chronicles the life of a great New York City businessman and how his firm became hopelessly involved in corruption and fraud on Wall Street nothing more and nothing less, which evidently led to his downfall.
Miedo y asco en Las Vegas (1998), de Terry Gilliam
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998) by Terry Gilliam
- Starring Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro, it is a movie that was highly criticized at the time and is about a journalist and a lawyer who travel in a red convertible and head, through the desert, to Las Vegas, with the mission of writing reports and pursuing "the American dream"; accompanied by very curious characters and of course, a lot of drugs in the trunk.
Nymphomaniac (2013), de Lars von Trier

The film narrates the life of Joe, a 50-year-old woman who is a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, as she claims she has been addicted to sex since she was a child.
Réquiem por un sueño (2000), de Darren Aronofsky
Requiem for a Dream (2000), by Darren Aronofsky
In this film Jared Leto and Jennifer Connelly play two young people willing to do anything to eat the world, even if it means living in a vicious circle, full of anguish, insecurities and loss of dignity.
It really touched my soul because to some extent you feel empathy with Harry and Marion (the protagonists) and with the rest of the characters. A tough movie to watch, but worth it.
Spun (2002), de Jonas Åkerlund
Spun (2002), by Jonas Åkerlund
A film starring the late Brittany Murphy, which has a rather high black humor, which focuses mostly on showing how poor quality homemade methamphetamine causes a very high degree of addiction.
Trainspotting (1996), de Danny Boyle
Trainspotting (1996), by Danny Boyle
This is one of the best films I've seen that deals with these issues. It tells the story of Max, his girlfriend and his group of friends addicted to heroin. Renton, one of them, is aware that he should be rehabilitated and decides to completely turn his life around, moving away from his hometown, but this is not enough because his past does not leave him alone.
Yo, Cristina F. (1981), de Uli Edel
- I, Christina F. (1981), by Uli Edel
This film is inspired by the real life of Christiane Vera Felscherinow and based on "The Children of the Zoo Station", an autobiographical novel by herself, in which she narrates her dramatic addiction to heroin at a young age in the city of Berlin.
The film is one of the crudest in addressing these issues, as it shows us how a girl of only 14 years of age, prostitutes herself in order to pay for her daily doses of heroin.
Thanks for reading and watching, I hope you liked it a lot.
