Here I am with you to present the summary and comments of an English movie called "match point" that I saw recently and I was impressed by its plot something out of the ordinary.

In life, from the moment we put our feet on the floor when we get out of bed in the morning, decisions begin. We decide what to eat, what to wear, what to do for the day, and so we spend the day making decisions almost in automatic mode. However, there are decisions that require a slow and precise planning and meditation process, especially when we depend on that decision to achieve a goal.

The movie I will tell you about today is about a passionate triangle where the main characters must make definitive decisions to get out of it.

En la vida, desde que ponemos los pies en el piso al levantarnos de la cama en la mañana, comienzan las decisiones. Decidimos qué comer, qué ropa usar,qué voy a hacer en el día y así pasamos el día tomando decisiones casi en modo automático. Sin embargo, hay decisiones que requieren un proceso de planificación y meditación lenta y precisa, sobretodo cuando dependemos de esa decisión para alcanzar una meta.
La película que hoy les comentaré trata sobre un triangulo pasional donde los personajes principales deberán tomar decisiones definitivas para salir a flote.

The man who said "I'd rather be lucky than good" saw life deeply. People are afraid to face how much of life depends on luck. It's scary to think that so many things are out of our control. There are moments in a match when the ball hits the top of the net and, for a split second, it can go forward or backward. With a little luck, it goes forward and you win. Or maybe it doesn't, and you lose. "

With this analogy, director Woody Allen begins this passionate drama starring Chris Wilton (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), who plays an Irishman of humble origins who works as a tennis teacher in a luxurious club in the city of London. There he meets Tom Hewett (Matthew Goode), one of his students, son of very wealthy parents, who invites him to his house where he meets Chloe Hewett (Emily Mortimer) with whom he starts dating.

Chloe is attracted to Chris and talks to his wealthy father Alec Hewett (Brian Cox), to get him an executive position in one of his companies. However, Christ has his eyes set on a beautiful blonde, a former girlfriend of his friend Tom's named Nola Rice (Scarlett Johansson), with whom he begins a secret relationship.

Christ marries Chloe out of convenience, to continue enjoying the goodness that the Hewett family provides him by living the way he has always dreamed of, but he also maintains a loving relationship with Nola.

Unwittingly Christ finds himself at a crossroads when Nola begins to pressure him and he must make a choice: continue the life of luxury he gets living with Chloe or enjoy the pleasures he finds with Nola.

Chloe se siente atraida por Chris y habla con su adinerado padre Alec Hewett (Brian Cox), para que le consiga un puesto de ejecutivo en una de sus empresas. Making a brief analysis of this film, I must tell you that at first it seemed to me one more story of marital infidelity, one of the many that have passed through the big screen. However, this story has many things that psychologists could study at a behavioral level.

The plot moves on and reaches a turning point, as in the example at the beginning of the ball that hits the net and stops in fractions of seconds and it is a matter of "luck" if the ball continues and goes over the net or stays on this side.

Here we clearly see a problem of infidelity in the first place but also, it strikes me, by the way Christ expresses himself about his wife, that he does not feel love for her and that he only seeks Nola for a physical attraction. Also the way Christ makes decisions is something very unusual, rarely seen in reality.

Haciendo un breve análisis a esta película, debo decirles que al principio me pareció una historia mas de infidelidad matrimonial, de las tantas que han pasado por la gran pantalla. Sin embargo, esta historia tiene muchas cosas que los psicólogos pudieran estudiar a nivel conductual.
La trama transcurre y llega a un punto de inflexión, como la del ejemplo al principio de la pelota que choca con la red y se detiene en fracciones de segundos y es cuestión de "suerte" si la pelota continua y pasa la red o se queda de este lado.
Aquí vemos claramente un problema de infidelidad en primer lugar pero también, me llama la atención, por la forma en que Christ se expresa de su esposa, que no siente amor por ella y que solo busca a Nola por una atracción física. Además la forma en que Christ toma las decisiones es algo muy inusual, poca veces visto en la realidad.

Does this mean that there is such a thing as luck? Is it possible to let things happen by themselves and wait for the results?
Personally I do not believe in luck, but I do believe in destiny, because each person contributes to build his or her own destiny with the way he or she acts and lives.

¿Quiere decir entonces que sí existe la suerte? ¿Es posible dejar que las cosas caminen solas y esperar los resultados?
Personalmente no creo en la suerte pero si en el destino, porque cada quien contribuye a construir su propio destino con su forma de actuar y de vivir.

To conclude.
I thought it was a good movie, with excellent performances, especially Joansson's, a good plot, excellent photography in beautiful locations in England and above all an unexpected ending.
