13 Minutes - What a Disaster
13 Minutes is one of the films that captivated me with its premise and events and the film revolves around a natural disaster that strikes a small town, and shows how a group of characters deal with this difficult situation in just 13 minutes before the hurricane arrives. The concept itself is powerful and full of tension and fear as which made me eagerly anticipate every moment of the film.
What I liked most about the film was the way it presented the characters. Each character has their own story, which makes the events not just about the hurricane but about the people facing it and I think the film manage to get feelings of fear and tension well with the strong performances of the actors who made me feel like I was part of the events.
But at the same time I felt the film could have been stronger. I was expecting more suspense and excitement but some scenes were a litle slow. I wish the action had moved faster to convey the sense of real danger as the hurricane was supposed to be the main enem but sometimes the focus was too much on the dramatic aspects of the characters.
The visual effects were very good, especially the scenes of destruction that made me feel the power of the hurricane and The sound also played an important role in make the tension, but it wasn't as strong as films about natural disasters in the film which I think the film could have exploited this aspect more to make the experience more exciting.
I can say that 13 Minutes is a good film if you like films with drama and suspense but it's not one of the most intense disaster films you can watch as If you're looking for a film with continuous action and excitement and you might find this film a little more relaxed than expected. However, if you're interested in watching human stories a natural disaster as you'll enjoy the film.
