MOVIE FOR THE WEEKEND ; MEA CULPA 2024

It's still the weekend , a time to relax and rest the brain by doing fun activities that stimulates the cognitive system as well. What better way to do that than be immersed in one of the many great movies produced in 2024. So far, the movie industry both home and abroad have done so well by releasing mind blowing movies that are interesting, fun, comedic, thrilling and whatever genre you wish to watch. For this weekend I watched the recently Netflix released movie titled "MEA CULPA 2024" which is a crime thriller. Although, the movie may seem like those movies where an artist is sexually involved with a client or stuff and starts to threaten or stalk them but this was different as it encompassed the themes of love, betrayal, crime, lies, art, friendship and so on.

As a big fan of the Tyler Perry movies, when I saw this piece I knew it was a must watch for me and I was not disappointed, so I rate the movie and 8/10. Also, seeing the

Brief summary
The movie was all about a woman who is a barrister and good at handling cases, married to her husband who marriage was almost at the brink of failing. The attorney was contacted to handle the case of an artist who was accused of killing his girlfriend but claimed innocence. During the cause of interrogation and investigation, the lawyer fell for the seductive advances of the artist and they had sex. Upon investigation she found out that the artist lied and dropped out of the case. When her husband found out she cheated, threw her out and went for a vacay to clear her head, then she found out that the supposed dead girlfriend was not dead after all. She did all she could to unravel the mystery behind the set up only to find out that her husband's family were manipulative humans who uses people to get what they wanted, like the mother claiming to have cancer, the brother using devious means to become mayor and so on. In the 3nf justice prevailed and the artist was set free and vindicated.

DEDUCTIONS FROM THE MOVIE
Not every lover has your best interest at heart some are just there to use you for your selfish reasons. Then when it all unfolds the feeling of betrayal sets in. One other I saw from the movie is that some families can go to whatever extent to attain political status in the society. Just like the mother feigning cancer to appeal to the public as a means to vote her son, the first born son leveraging on the innocent to set a precedent for his mayor ambition and so on.

It was an interesting watch, because at the end justice prevailed, culprits were brought to judgement and all seemed well.
