Greetings Movies&TVShows friends. It's been a while since my last review. Many of the movies and series I've seen lately have been thanks to the content that many authors have posted in this community. Unfortunately, I have missed many programs because after a few months of glory with the internet, friends of others deprived me of this benefit and who knows until when. Not easy to stay active on Hive, but here we go.
The truth is that I hardly watch TV, but when I have time I have stumbled upon some repeat movies over there on Simple TV channels, among them Legally Blonde, which also has its sequel. I like the first movie better and it's just the one I want to tell you about. Legally Blonde, starring Reese Witherspoon, is one of my favorite comedies, I don't think I would ever get bored of watching it, it is very funny, however, it recreates situations where people are judged by their appearance and loyalty and lack of faith towards people is tested. It seems that being blonde is not exactly a mark of virtue, it's just about being pretty and nothing more. They are considered silly, frivolous and superficial and only concerned with hair, clothes and nails. I was one of those who thought I would never see this movie because while being feminine I am on the opposite side of this way of being.
Elle Woods decided to go to law school, not because she liked the career, but to be close to Warner (Matthew Davis), her supposed great love. This girl was judged harshly, even her own parents doubted her, could it be that hair color defines people's brains and potential? Elle Woods proved otherwise, she entered college on her own merits, studied, solved a case and graduated with honors.
Judgments and errors
I confess that I found the trials very boring, but, like everything in life, we change and for some time now I like to watch them, I even discard the alibis and see the suspects' gestures to discover the murderer before he is revealed in the movie. I didn't expect a trial in Legally Blonde, let alone Elle Woods to solve it.
Even as a student, Elle solved the trial of Brooke Taylor Windham (Ali Larter) without going back on her word, keeping the cut this woman entrusted to her. I never understood how Callahan (Victor Garber) who would act as the defense attorney treated Brooke like a criminal, as if he was rather going to judge her, it seemed he was going to convict her. Fortunately, the case was left in Elle's hands and everything was resolved satisfactorily.
Brooke's witness and stepdaughter, Chutney (Linda Cardellini) had said that on the day of the murder she had gone to the gym, then had a perm and finally took a shower, this last activity was the trigger for the blonde to solve the case. Elle said that the perm she had gotten was intact and that's why she couldn't be in the shower. Chutney's alibi was ruled out because it also gave her plenty of time to hide the gun.
From here I blame the translators. In the beginning when I first saw the movie, Elle asks Chutney "What did you do that day?", she replies "I went to the gym, got a perm and then went home", if I remember correctly. She also said that because she was in the shower while washing her hair she didn't hear the gunshot. If she got the perm it didn't make sense for her to wash her hair right away obviously, but, if she wanted to keep the alibi, she could have made up something like she didn't like it and that's why she got it wet, and not only that, how long was it between the murder and the trial. The girl could have had another perm in that period, couldn't she, unless there is a very strict rule about not being able to get perms so close together because it damages the hair. And I say this because of Elle's expression as she accused her "I see your curls remain intact".
The truth is that every time they repeat this movie they omit the dialogue where Chutney says he got a perm. She just says she went to the Gym, then to the salon and then took a shower, very general, this opens a big gap to ambiguity. Going to the salon does not prove she got a perm, she could have gone to get something else done, like nails for example, then there would be no problem if she washed her hair. This translation distorts the reality of the facts. For me it leaves a gap as to solve the case, at least not so fast. Also, the million dollar question arises, how much time passed from the murder to the trial, if it had been a day, then Elle could say with certainty "your curls are still intact", it was impossible for her to have washed her hair because there would not be time for another perm. A lot of time passes between a murder and a trial. .
Elle Woods did something extraordinary
Beyond the case she solved and all the parody to study in law school, there was a scene that I really liked because it was the starting point for Elle to bring out all that potential that perhaps she herself didn't even know she had and all thanks to Warner. At the supposed costume party, Warner told her to go back to doing what she only knew how to do well, be pretty, do her nails and hair, that law school wasn't for her. Then, the girl asked her a question that she answered herself, "I'll never be good enough for you, will I?", "You're all going to see what Elle Woods is capable of", and that's when the adventure began.
From that moment on, Elle stopped pretending she was studying law and started studying for real. Instead of crying and going home defeated, Warner's words motivated her to be someone better in life, to better herself and to prove that appearances can be deceiving, that is the attitude we should copy, follow this example, that is why I applaud Elle Woods. As her teacher said on graduation day, the one who expelled her in the first class, "a student who had an interesting beginning and today is graduating with honors". Of course, she never stopped being her, fashion until death, it is part of her personality, that will not change, which is why she was called the Barbie of Malibu. Certainly, the way she expressed herself, her way of acting plus her physical appearance, made her an easy target to be judged, however, Elle Woods did it and very well.
Regarding that negative phrase that invited Elle to give up, I remembered Albert Einstein's famous words "I feel enormous gratitude for all those who said no to me. Thanks to them I did it myself", just like that, she triumphed and was great.

Saludos amigos de Movies&TVShows. Tiempo sin pasar por acá desde mi última reseña. Muchas de las películas y series que había visto últimamente ha sido gracias a los contenidos que muchos autores dejan plasmados en esta comunidad. Lamentablemente, me he perdido de muchos programas porque después de unos meses de gloria con el internet los amigos de lo ajeno me privaron de este beneficio y quien sabe hasta cuándo. Nada fácil mantenerme activa en Hive, pero aquí vamos.
La verdad es que casi no veo televisión, pero cuando tengo tiempo me he topado con algunas pelis repetidas por allí en los canales de Simple TV, entre ellas Legalmente Rubia, que también tiene su segunda parte. La primera película me gusta más y es justo de la que quiero hablarles. Legalmente Rubia, protagonizada por Reese Witherspoon, es una de mis comedias favoritas, creo que no me aburriría de verla nunca, es muy divertida, sin embargo, recrea situaciones donde se juzga a la gente por su apariencia y se pone a prueba la lealtad y la falta de fe hacia las personas. Parece que ser rubia no es precisamente un tachado de virtudes, solo se trata de ser bonita y nada más. Son consideradas tontas, frívolas y superficiales que solo están pendientes del cabello, la ropa y las uñas. Yo era una de las que pensaba que no vería esta película nunca porque sin dejar de ser femenina estoy del lado contrario a esta forma de ser.
Elle Woods decidió ir a la escuela de leyes, no porque le gustara la carrera, sino para estar cerca de Warner (Matthew Davis), su supuesto gran amor. Esta chica fue juzgada duramente, hasta sus propios padres dudaron de ella, ¿será que el color del cabello define el cerebro y el potencial de las personas?. Elle Woods demostró lo contrario, ingresó por sus propios méritos a la universidad, estudió, resolvió un caso y se graduó con honores.
El juicio y los errores
Confieso que los juicios me parecían muy aburridos, pero, como todo en la vida, vamos cambiando y desde hace un tiempo para acá me gusta verlos, hasta voy descartando las coartadas y veo los gestos de los sospechosos para descubrir al asesino antes que lo develen en la película. No esperaba un juicio en Legalmente Rubia y mucho menos que Elle Woods lo resolviera.
Aún siendo estudiante, Elle resolvió el juicio de Brooke Taylor Windham (Ali Larter) sin faltar a su palabra, guardar la cortada que esta mujer le confió. No entendí nunca como Callahan (Víctor Garber) quien actuaría como el abogado defensor trataba a Brooke como a una criminal, como si fuera más bien a juzgarla, parecía que la iba a condenar. Afortunadamente, el caso quedó en manos de Elle y todo se resolvió satisfactoriamente.
La testigo e hijastra de Brooke, Chutney (Linda Cardellini) había dicho que del día del asesinato había ido al gym, luego se hizo una permanente y finalmente tomó una ducha, esta última actividad fue el detonante para que la rubia resolviera el caso. Elle dijo que la permanente que se había hecho estaba intacta y que por eso no podía estar en la ducha. La coartada de Chutney quedó descartada porque además de eso le daba tiempo suficiente para esconder el arma.
Desde aquí culpo a los traductores. En un inicio cuando vi la película por primera vez, Elle le pregunta a Chutney “¿Qué hizo ese día?”, ésta le contesta “fui al gym, me hice una permanente y después me fui casa”, si mal no recuerdo. También dijo que por estar en la ducha mientras se lavaba el cabello no escuchó el disparo. Si se hizo la permanente no tenía sentido que se lavara el cabello enseguida obviamente, pero, si quería mantener la coartada, pudo haber inventado algo como que no le gustó y por eso se lo mojó, y no solo eso, ¿Cuánto tiempo pasó entre el asesinato y el juicio?. La chica pudo hacerse otra permanente en ese período, ¿o no?, a menos que haya una norma muy estricta de no poder hacerse permanentes tan seguidas porque daña el cabello. Y esto lo digo por la expresión de Elle mientras la acusaba “veo que tus rizos permanecen intactos” .
Lo cierto es que cada vez que repiten esta película omiten el dialogo donde Chutney dice que se hizo la permanente. Solo dice que fue al Gym, después al salón y luego tomó una ducha, muy general, esto abre una gran brecha a la ambigüedad. Ir al salón no prueba que se haya hecho la permanente, pudo haber ido para hacerse otra cosa, como las uñas por ejemplo, entonces no habría problema si se lavaba el cabello. Esta traducción distorsiona la realidad de los hechos. Para mí deja un vacío como para resolver el caso, al menos no tan rápido. Además, surge la pregunta del millón ¿Cuánto tiempo pasó desde el asesinato hasta juicio?, si hubiera pasado un día, entonces Elle podría decir con certeza “tus rizos siguen intactos”, era imposible que se hubiera lavado el cabello porque no habría tiempo para otra permanente. Entre un asesinato y un juicio pasa mucho tiempo.
Elle Woods hizo algo extraordinario
Más allá del caso que resolvió y toda la parodia para estudiar en la escuela de leyes, hubo una escena que me gustó mucho porque fue el punto de partida para que Elle sacara de sí todo ese potencial que quizás ella misma ni sabía que lo tenía y todo gracias a Warner. En la supuesta fiesta de disfraces, Warner le dijo que se regresara a hacer lo que ella solo sabía hacer bien, ser bonita, arreglarse las uñas y el cabello, que la escuela de leyes no era para ella. Entonces, la chica le hizo una pregunta que ella misma se respondió: ¿nunca seré lo suficientemente buena para ti verdad?, “van a ver todos de lo que Elle Woods es capaz”, y fue allí que comenzó la aventura.
Desde ese momento, Elle dejó de fingir que estaba estudiando leyes y comenzó a estudiar de verdad. En lugar se echarse a llorar y regresarse derrotada a su casa, las palabras de Warner la motivaron a ser alguien mejor en la vida, a superarse y a demostrar que las apariencias engañan, es la actitud que debemos copiar, seguir este ejemplo, por eso aplaudo a Elle Woods. Como dijo su profesora el día de la graduación, aquella que en la primera clase la expulsó, “una estudiante que tuvo un interesante comienzo y hoy se gradúa con honores”. Eso sí, nunca dejó de ser ella, fashion hasta la muerte, es parte de su personalidad, eso no va a cambiar, razón por la cual la llamaban la Barbie del Malibú. Ciertamente, como se expresaba, su manera de actuar más su apariencia física, la convertían en blanco fácil para ser juzgada, sin embargo, Elle Woods lo hizo y muy bien.
Respecto a esa frase negativa que invitó a Elle a rendirse, recordé las palabras célebres de Albert Einstein “Siento una enorme gratitud por todos los que me dijeron no. Gracias a ellos lo hice yo mismo”, tal cual, triunfó y fue grande.

También me gusta mucho esta película, esa escena que describes de Warner diciendo que Elle no iba a poder detonó las ganas de hacerlo y lo mejor es que nunca dejo de ser ella, solo que estudió.
La segunda también me gusta porque existen los mismos prejuicios con respecto a las rubias (tontas).
En la segunda parte continúa la discriminación pero la trama toma otro matiz. No le he prestado mucha atención, se que trata de luchar por los animales algo así. Cuando la pasen otra vez, voy a verla. Saludos.
Me gusta mucho la película más que todo porque trata de romper estereotipos racistas que se viven en la sociedad como en el caso de ella de que las rubias no pueden ser inteligentes sin duda un concepto bastante interesante de una película donde una sociedad machista donde no se valore para nada la mujer se impone.
Tal cual, el color del cabello no define a una persona. Me encanta lo divertida que es y por el mensaje que transmite sobre el amor propio y la superación personal. Saludos.

STOPLoved this movie! I remember watching some clips in TikTok, and I liked how she slayed about being a lawyer. His leading man in the film is such trash! Interestingly, you initially found the trial scenes boring but have developed an appreciation for them over time. In my case, I find the plot impossible to happen in real life. I hope I can find supporting friends like she had in the movie😂. But despite those flaws. One main thing that the film wants to discern is women's empowerment. A scene from the movie thought me about "thank u, next" by Ariana Grande
Movies always carry with them some fiction or exaggerations to make them more interesting. In particular I thought Reese Witherspoon's performance was good, I have seen her in dramatic and comedy facets. Regards and thanks for commenting.
Recuerdo mucho esta película, tanto a mi mamá como a mi esposa le encanta, realmente es un filme que se ganó el corazón de muchos espectadores. Sirve para tener una tarde con una sonrisa en el rostro.

Nunca fui un gran fan de esta película, menos aún de sus secuelas, pero algo que sí rescato es que en el contexto en que fue lanzada, no era demasiado común empoderar a una mujer y hacerlo sin radicalizar su personalidad (la del personaje, valga el pleonasmo). Así que, en ése sentido específico, es sencillamente increíble y pionera.
A mi en principio no me llamó la atención, pero le di una nueva oportunidad y me encantó. Tiene sus mensajes aleccionadores sin ser un drama. Saludos, gracias por comentar.
Uy, Legalmente rubia ya es todo un clásico, principio a mí me parecía un poco ridículo el personaje (creo que te pasaba lo mismo), pero la realidad es que es divertida y me gusta que aborde temas como los prejuicios basados en la apariencia y la importancia de la lealtad. Qué bueno que al final le diste una oportunidad y pudiste disfrutarla.
