Greetings dear friends of Movies and TV Show, today I want to share my impressions of a Mexican film that I really liked, “No se aceptan devoluciones, in English, ‘Instructions not included’. It was directed and starred by comedian Eugenio Derbez, who also had a hand in the script of the movie. The truth is that I was used to see him always acting in his comedy role, I rarely saw him in “La familia P. Luche”, but in “No se aceptan devoluciones” I was quite surprised to see him in this facet.
The film is about a boy whose father wants to teach him to be brave, so he names him Valentin (Eugenio Derbez), his methods are somewhat orthodox and well... the results were not as expected. As an adult, Valentin is unstable in his relationships, is a womanizer, does not work and maintains his childhood fears and traumas. One day a love from the past returns, Julie (Jessica Lindsey), who leaves a newborn baby on his doorstep without any explanation. He does not know what to do, his fears surface and he decides to go to Los Angeles to look for Julie with the intention of returning her, but he does not find her, he has no choice but to look for a job and raise the child.
Ironically and by chance, Valentin's job has a lot to do with one of his greatest fears, heights, he took a job as a stuntman in movies, it was the only thing he could find to give quality of life to his daughter Maggie. Over time, Valentin left that unstable life and Maggie became his world, he forgot about finding Julie and about giving back. However, one day Julie shows up and claims parental rights. This film delivers a great message, fatherhood changed Valentin's life as it happens to most people, of course, there are those who never change. In this film we see the other side of the coin, we always see a mother alone raising her children, here we see a man who takes care of a girl alone, to do things that maybe it is easier for women to do.
Valentin does everything to make Maggy happy, he writes the letters that her mother supposedly sends her to justify her absence and so that she never knows that he abandoned her. Maggy lived in a fantasy world that made her lose her way at school, she faced bullying and disappointment after learning the story of what really happened between her parents. In this movie we find comedy and drama, I think 50% of each, not to mention a great lesson. The plot is very interesting, there are many situations that arise with the characters, so it is very important not to lose sight of the sequences. I really liked the scene at the trial, where Derbez brings out all his potential as a comedian. However, there are situations where the drama comes to make us cry with some very emotional scenes.
Of the characters I want to highlight the performance of Eugenio Derbez, seeing him in this double facet in a single film fascinated me, I really did not expect it. On the other hand, we have the girl who played the character of Maggie (Loreto Peralta), I think her performance was impeccable, it was necessary for her to speak in two languages, English and Spanish, she did it very well, in addition to demonstrating her comedy skills in certain scenes, however, the emotional ones she played excellently. Valentin's character had some edges, for example, how he metaphorically saw his traumas and fears. I must say that I had to see the movie more than once, the first time, because it was recommended to me, that time, I missed the beginning, several scenes and I saw an ending that did not impact me at all because I had already been told about it. The second time I saw it, I missed the beginning and I had to watch it again (that time only the beginning) to understand why Valentin saw wolves, sometimes they were big, sometimes small, I saw him running as if he was moving forward and sometimes there were more than one.
In "No refunds", we can see how the dispute between parents can seriously affect children, that leaving aside pride and differences is the best decision to be good people in the future. That there are methods that don't work, because even the shoes don't fit. Valentin never understood his father, he resented him for the way he raised him, but when he had Maggy in his care, he understood that everything he did, he did it for her good. Hence his last reflection, in his life he had two great loves, one, "taught him to be prepared to face life", and the other, "taught him to face life unprepared". When I saw the movie for the second time, I took care of it, it approached a special topic in such a way that it kept everyone with an idea and that resulted in an unexpected ending, it was not for me because I had already been told about it, however, I found it very emotional, and that time, just like that, I burst into tears. If you haven't seen this movie I recommend it, you will love it!.

Saludos estimados amigos de Movies and TV Show, hoy quiero compartir mis impresiones de un film mexicano que me gustó mucho, “No se aceptan devoluciones, en inglés, “Instructions not included”. Fue dirigida y protagonizada por el comediante Eugenio Derbez, quien también tuvo su intervención en el guion de la película. La verdad es que estaba acostumbrada a verlo actuar siempre en su rol de comicidad, pocas veces lo vi en La familia P. Luche, pero en “No se aceptan devoluciones” me sorprendió bastante verlo en esta faceta.
La película trata de un niño a quien su padre quiere enseñarlo a ser valiente, por eso lo nombra Valentín (Eugenio Derbez), sus métodos son algo ortodoxos y bueno…los resultados no fueron los esperados. Ya de adulto, Valentín es inestable en sus relaciones, es mujeriego, no trabaja y mantiene sus miedos y traumas de la infancia. Un buen día regresa un amor del pasado, Julie (Jessica Lindsey), quién le deja una bebé recién nacida en la puerta de su casa sin ninguna explicación. Él no sabe qué hacer, su miedos afloran y decide irse a los Ángeles a buscar a Julie con la intención de devolverla, pero no la encuentra, no le queda más remedio que buscar trabajo y criar a la niña.
Como cosa irónica y por azar, el trabajo de Valentín tiene mucho que ver con uno de sus más grandes miedos, las alturas, aceptó un trabajo como doble en películas, fue lo único que pudo encontrar para darle calidad de vida a su hija Maggy. Con el tiempo, Valentín dejó esa vida inestable y Maggy se convirtió en su mundo, se olvidó de encontrar a Julie y de la devolución. No obstante, un día Julie aparece y reclama la patria potestad. Esta película nos entrega un gran mensaje, la paternidad cambió la vida de Valentín tal como le ocurre a la mayoría de las personas, claro, hay quienes nunca cambian. En este film se ve la otra cara de la moneda, siempre vemos a una madre sola criando a sus hijos, aquí vemos a un hombre que se encarga de atender a una niña solo, de hacer cosas que a lo mejor es más sencillo para las mujeres.
Valentín hace de todo para que Maggy sea feliz, escribe las cartas que supuestamente le envía su mamá para justificar su ausencia y para que nunca sepa que la abandonó. Maggy vivía en un mundo de fantasía que le hizo perder el norte en su escuela, se enfrentó al bullying y a la decepción después de conocer la historia de lo que realmente pasó entre sus padres. En esta película encontramos comedia y drama, creo que en un 50% de cada uno, sin mencionar una gran lección. La trama es muy interesante, son muchas las situaciones que se suscitan con los personajes, por eso es muy importante no perder de vista las secuencias. Me gustó mucho la escena en el juicio, donde Derbez saca a flote todo su potencial como comediante. Sin embargo, hay situaciones donde nos llega el drama para hacernos llorar con algunas escenas muy emotivas.
De los personajes quiero destacar la actuación de Eugenio Derbez, verlo en la esta doble faceta en una sola película me fascinó, de verdad no lo esperaba. Por otra parte, tenemos a la niña que interpretó al personaje de Maggy (Loreto Peralta), pienso que su actuación fue impecable, fue necesario que hablara en dos idiomas, inglés y español, lo hizo muy bien, además de demostrar sus dotes de comicidad en ciertas escenas, no obstante, las emotivas las interpretó de manera excelsa. El personaje de Valentín contaba con algunas aristas, por ejemplo, como metafóricamente veía sus traumas y miedos. Debo decir que tuve que ver la película más de una vez, la primera, porque me la recomendaron, esa vez, me perdí el principio, varias escenas y vi un final que no me impactó en lo absoluto porque ya me lo habían contado. La segunda vez que la vi, me perdí el principio y tuve que verla de nuevo (esa vez solo el principio) para entender porque Valentín veía lobos, a veces eran grandes, a veces pequeños, lo veía correr como si estuviera avanzando y algunas veces eran más de uno.
En “No se aceptan devoluciones”, podemos ver como la disputa entre los padres puede afectar gravemente a los hijos, que dejar de lado el orgullo y las diferencias es la mejor decisión para sean personas de bien en el futuro. Que hay métodos que no funcionan, porque a fuerzas ni los zapatos entran. Valentín nunca entendió a su padre, le guardaba rencor por la forma como fue su crianza, pero cuando tuvo a Maggy a su cargo, entendió que todo lo que hizo, lo hizo pensando en su bien. De allí su última reflexión, en su vida tuvo dos grandes amores, uno, “le enseñó a estar preparado para enfrentar la vida”, y el otro, “le enseñó a enfrentar la vida sin estar preparado”. Cuando vi la película por segunda vez, le puse cuidado, abordó un tema en especial de tal manera que mantuvo a todos con una idea y que resultó en un final inesperado, no lo fue para mí porque ya me lo habían contado, sin embargo, me pareció muy emotivo, y esa vez, así, sin más, rompí a llorar. Si no han visto esta película se las recomiendo, les va a encantar.
