In The Lost Lands -"The Witch That Will Not Hang"!

This is an action packed movie with some touch of supernatural to it. The start of the movie may suggest the movie to be boring but just five minutes into the movie and you don't want to give up anymore. Besides when you see Bautista in a movie, you may want to sit tight and watch. This is a 2025 hollywood dark fantasy movie that was released on 7th March

The Plot

The movie centers around Gray Alys the witch (casted by Milla Jovovich ) Boyce the wolf (casted by Dave Bautista). Everywhere on earth lost its order (😂) hence it was called the lost land apart from a kingdom known as the cuty under the mountain that is ruled by a queen( Wife of the Overlord) and this kingdom is politically and religiously driven.

The movie kicks off as the head of the church and its army tries to kill Gray Alys the witch as such heretics are forbidden in the kingdom but the witch avoids death and all the salve workers soon starts to hail her. Gray Alys has a lair where she resides and from time to time she gets requests from people but her curse forbids her from rejecting so she accepts all requests but in turn those who request from her give her a valuable item or payment.

Gray Alys soon recieves a request from the queen to make the queen into a wolf. Gray Alys sets out for the mission and hires Boyce who was a good hunter . They then adventure into the lost lands overcoming many obstacles and running away from the church army as well. They later arrive at the dwelling place of the wolf only to find out that the hunter all along was the wolf but then, Gray Alys knew all along. She kills the wolve during the full moon and delivers its skin to the queen but the queen is heartbroken because she actually wanted to be a wolf because of her lover and father of her child, Boyce who was now dead.

The queens desires led to a revolution among the working slaves who storm the palace and destroy everything. Boyce the wolf magically lives again since his skin was not worn by the weeping queen during the full moon. Gray Alys lastly grants Boyce's wish which is that He and Gray Alys may live as a couple.

Themes

Gray Alys deceived Boyce the wolf until Boyce made a request from her. Firstly she always knew even before hiring him that he was the wolf whose skin she wanted yet she played naive towards him. She used his gunshot wound to plant silver into him while he slept so as to weaken his wolf form during the full moon. Worst of all which I didn't understand until later was how the all mighty Gray Alys started acting as though she was afraid and weak and this made Boyce to have compassion for her. All these deceitful acts where employed by Gray Alys just so she could complete the queens request. She truly is the witch.

What I enjoyed most is the love story of Gray Alys and Boyce and how their love journey had to eliminate the power seeking church head called the patriarch and the queen under whose leadership saw the suffering of the many. The masses where technically forced at arms point to bow and respect the queen and even to work for the queen. It seems as though their believe in Gray Alys not ever being killed by hanging multivated them to take a bold step to evade the palace. Gray Alys was a hero to me in the movie and she nailed her character beyond perfection.

I would rate the movie 7️⃣/ 🔟 and I also recommend
