CineTV Contest: Togo
La mayoría de las veces a las personas nos cuesta aceptar que nos equivocamos, lo que es peor aún a veces por simple desconocimiento creemos que lo que sabemos es la verdad absoluta, así que valoro mucho esos momentos en que me doy cuenta de que lo que yo creo verdad no es cierto y acepto de lo ignorante que soy, admitir la ignorancia es el primer paso para adquirir nuevos conocimientos eso se aplica para todo, así que cuando me enteré que “Balto” una de mis películas favoritas no contaba la verdadera historia me sentí un poco en shock, pero luego me alegré de saber que existía una película llamada “Togo” que contaba la verdadera historia aun cuando obviamente en el cine la verdad no es exacta, así que Togo se ha convertido en la película que deseo compartir con ustedes en el CineTV Contest: película favorita con una mascota
Most of the time it is hard for people to accept that we are wrong, what is even worse sometimes due to simple ignorance we believe that what we know is the absolute truth, so I value those moments when I realize that what we I believe the truth is not true and I accept how ignorant I am, admitting ignorance is the first step to acquire new knowledge that applies to everything, so when I found out that "Balto" one of my favorite movies did not tell the true story I was a bit shocked, but then I was glad to know that there was a movie called “Togo” that told the true story even though obviously in the cinema the truth is not exact, so Togo has become the movie that I want to share with you in the CineTV Contest: favorite movie with a pet.
La historia trata sobre cómo en el pueblo de Nome en Alaska los niños estaban afectados por difteria, el pueblo sw encontraba aislado debido al terrible clima, la única forma de llevar la medicina era con trineos arrastrados por perros, en la película Balto se nos cuenta que fue el perro Balto quien lideró el trineo que llevó la antitoxina para salvar a los niños, por eso al perro Balto se le hizo hasta una estatua en homenaje, pero resulta que esa no es la historia exacta, en la película Togo, se nos devela que en realidad el perro que recorrió la mayor parte del camino para llevar la medicina fue uno llamado Togo del trineo de un señor llamado Seppala, de hecho varios equipos de perros recorrieron diferentes partes del camino pero el trineo liderado por Togo fue el que más distancia recorrió y lo hizo cuando tenía 12 años y era considerado un perro viejo, el perro hizo algo increíble junto con su dueño y su equipo, pero como el equipo del perro Balto recorrió el último tramo y fue este el nombre que tomaron para transmitir por la prensa la llegada del perro héroe con la medicina, fue entonces como el nombre de Togo no fue conocido por los pobladores solamente y no por el resto del mundo.
The story is about how in the town of Nome in Alaska the children were affected by diphtheria, the SW town found itself isolated due to the terrible weather, the only way to carry the medicine was with dog sleds, in the movie Balto we are told that it was the dog Balto who led the sled that brought the antitoxin to save the children, that is why a statue was even made for the dog Balto in homage, but it turns out that this is not the exact story, in the movie Togo, we were told reveals that in reality the dog that traveled most of the way to carry the medicine was one named Togo from the sled of a man named Seppala, in fact several teams of dogs traveled different parts of the way but the sled led by Togo was the one that traveled the most distance he traveled and he did it when he was 12 years old and was considered an old dog, the dog did something incredible together with his owner and his team, but since the dog Balto's team covered the last stretch and this was the name they took to transmit by the press the arrival of the hero dog with the medicine, it was then that the name of Togo was not only known by the inhabitants and not by the rest of the world.
Ahora bien, por qué me gusta tanto esta película, hay muchas razones más allá de enterarme de la verdadera historia, una de las principales es la maravillosa actuación de Willem Dafoe, el interpreta a Seppala el criador de perros de trineo, quien tiene un carácter fuerte y sabe como ser el líder para sus perros, este hombre críaba los animales como perros de trabajo, pero Togo cambio su visión, pues el al principio no consideraba a Togo una mascota, el veía al perro como un perro de trabajo pero Togo se convirtió en su mejor amigo y compañero.
Now, why I like this movie so much, there are many reasons beyond learning the true story, one of the main ones is the wonderful performance of Willem Dafoe, he plays Seppala the sled dog breeder, who has a character strong and knows how to be the leader for his dogs, this man raised the animals as working dogs, but Togo changed his vision, because at first he did not consider Togo a pet, he saw the dog as a working dog but Togo He became his best friend and partner.
En la película vemos en tiempo presente la hazaña de Seppala con Togo y el equipo de perros, pero vemos escenas del pasado desde que Togo era un cachorro que nació con poco peso y enfermo, en ese tiempo el dueño no veía esperanzas en Togo, a medida que creía el perro se mostraba travieso y no seguía órdenes, el dueño trató de regalar al perro en varias ocasiones y la esposa siempre defendía al perro. Pero cuando Seppala se atrevió a colocar a Togo en el equipo de trineo nació la mejor relación entre el perro y el hombre, solo ellos pudieron ser los héroes que necesitaba el pueblo 12 años después.
In the film we see in the present tense the feat of Seppala with Togo and the team of dogs, but we see scenes from the past since Togo was a puppy who was born with little weight and sick, at that time the owner saw no hope in Togo, As he believed the dog was being naughty and not following commands, the owner tried to give the dog away several times and the wife always defended the dog. But when Seppala dared to place Togo in the sled team, the best relationship between dog and man was born, only they could be the heroes the town needed 12 years later.
Ver como un hombre duro se sensibiliza con un perro y empieza a manifestar afecto y amor por este es algo muy hermoso, me recuerda mucho a las personas que buscan un perro para cuidar la casa o un gato para que aleje los ratones en casa, la mayoría de las personas hacen eso pero luego se dan cuenta que un perro o un gato se puede convertir en un miembro más de la familia y empiezan una relación de amor y cuidado con sus mascotas. Sinceramente esta película es solo una muestra de lo maravilloso que pueden ser los animales que comparten la vida con los humanos.
Seeing how a tough man becomes sensitive to a dog and begins to show affection and love for it is something very beautiful, it reminds me a lot of people looking for a dog to take care of the house or a cat to keep away the mice at home, the Most people do that but then they realize that a dog or cat can become a member of the family and they begin a loving and caring relationship with their pets. Honestly, this movie is just a sample of how wonderful animals can be that share life with humans.

Muchas historias quedan a la sombra, los que hicieron que el logro fuese posible. Muertos que dejaron el aliento para cumplir la misión. Como siempre, se le da todo el mérito al que es más visible, o al que llega al final después de la larga marcha de sacrificios.
