This is a dramatic film directed by David Frankel. The story revolves around Howard Inlet, played by Will Smith, a successful New York publicist who, after the tragic death of his daughter, falls into a deep depression.

His grief leads him to isolate himself from his friends and colleagues, who are concerned about his well-being and the direction his life has taken.To try to help Howard, his friends, played by Edward Norton, Kate Winslet and Michael Peña, decide to hire actors to portray the three universal forces that Howard has been writing in letters: Love, Time and Death.
