This is a film directed by Juho Kuosmanen. The story is set in the 1990s and follows Laura, a young Finnish woman who travels by train from Moscow to Murmansk in Russia to visit the ancient ruins of a Stone Age civilisation.

The plot focuses on her experience in a train compartment, where she meets an unexpected travelling companion: a rough and unconventional man named Ljoha.

Laura is an archaeology student looking to escape her everyday life and a failed relationship. Throughout the journey, her interaction with Ljoha, a construction worker who seems to have little in common with her, becomes the emotional core of the film.

Despite their differences, the two characters begin to develop an unexpected connection as they share the confined space of the compartment.

As the journey progresses, Laura and Ljoha confront their own demons and vulnerabilities, leading to a deeper understanding of themselves and each other.

Their relationship evolves from initial awkwardness to genuine friendship, marked by moments of humour, tension and tenderness.

The film is a visually captivating work, with cinematography that captures the beauty of the Russian landscape and the intimacy of the train journey.

Kuosmanen's direction strikes a balance between comedy and drama, creating an atmosphere that reflects the complexity of human relationships.

The performances of Seidi Haarla and Yuriy Borisov, who convey the emotional depth of their characters, make this Finnish film a moving exploration of how connections can emerge in the most unexpected places.
