My opinion about the movie "The Happening"

I haven't seen it since it came out in cinemas, and although it didn't convince me, I want to be fair because I slept a lot and remember very little.

Also, I'm hosting a film forum this week that includes the very famous The Jungle (The Village, 2004), and I want to see another film directed by M. Night Shyamalan, who, for all his faults, is a great storyteller. a fabulous storyteller.

The Happening (2008) is probably very popular at the moment because of its brilliant plot around climate change and how the Earth protects itself from us humans.

The film is good, but it feels forced throughout, trying to sound reasonable and trying to achieve a tone and seriousness, but it's not enough.

I have a theory that the casting is poor, even Zooey Deschanel, who is particularly uneven, weighs down Mark Wahlberg's usually stellar performance.

The premise and the entire first act are tremendous, but it doesn't keep up the level although I do find it interesting throughout.

In any case, it's not as bad as it's made out to be by a long shot.
