Sharp Objects, miniseries
This is an eight-episode television miniseries based on the novel of the same name by Gillian Flynn. The series, directed by Jean-Marc Vallée and starring Amy Adams, explores dark themes such as trauma, mental health and complex family dynamics.
The story follows Camille Preaker, a journalist who returns to her hometown of Wind Gap, Missouri, to cover the murder of two young women, Ann Nash and Natalie Keene.
Camille, who has struggled with mental health issues and self-harm, confronts her past and dysfunctional family as she returns to a place that brings back painful memories.

Her mother, Adora Crellin (played by Patricia Clarkson), is a domineering and manipulative figure, and her relationship with Camille is strained and complicated.
In addition, Camille has a younger sister, Amma (Eliza Scanlen), who seems to be the antithesis of Camille, as she is a popular and energetic teenager, but also hides a dark side.
As Camille investigates the murders, she begins to unearth dark secrets from her childhood and the community, revealing the hypocrisy and violence that underlie the seemingly quiet life of Wind Gap.
