The Juror, a true gem of 90's

Director Brian Gibson created an immensely gripping neo-noir with this underrated '90s gem, anchored by a phenomenal lead performance from Demi Moore.
In the role of Annie, a single mother who is forced to serve on a jury in a mob case, Moore delivers some of the best work of her dazzling career.
From the first frame, we are hopelessly immersed in Annie's descent down the rabbit hole.
Gibson directs at an electric pace that intensifies the paranoia. Each revelation takes the complex morality play into darker terrain, peeling back layers on all fronts of this twisted chess game.

Although released 25 years ago, The Juror has only increased its timeliness and resonance as it examines the institutional power imbalance and the murky limits of doing “the right thing.”
It is a gripping thriller that lingers in the memory, thanks in large part to Moore's unflinching portrayal of a woman pushed to her moral extremes. Both Gibson and she left indelible marks on the crime genre.
A true gem of 90's cinema that deserves greater recognition.
At the 1998 Golden Globes, Demi Moore earned a well-deserved Best Actress nomination for her intense and gripping lead performance.
Although she was not nominated, Moore's courageous work also earned widespread critical acclaim and recognition from major critics' groups.

In the U.S., The Jury did respectably well commercially, grossing $33 million against a budget of $50 million.
Internationally, the film did even better, grossing over $60 million worldwide, a good result considering the maturity of the courtroom thriller genre.
Moore, of course, was one of the biggest movie stars in the world at the time, so his star power undoubtedly contributed greatly to the box office.

Not too many words but I already felt gripped by the film. Maybe it's because of her gaze. Lol
Nicely written.
The Juror was indeed one of those sensational productions you wish you can re-watch all over again. Thank you for sharing this!
